The world was over when mine had just begun. I was born only two days before the world ended. Before the dead started rising. Before the people were separated. Before we had to kill or be killed. Before, oh before, how I would I would have loved to see you.

I awaken form my deep slumber unaware of my day to come, but aware that some is amiss. I rise from the bed and rays of sun attack my eyes, a full force invasion form the small crack to the world held beyond it. I don't squirm, much more better things to flinch about. I turn to my side to paper scatted all around, pages to a new chapter I suppose or a new speck it's all a blur.

"Lana you up" asked Marlene
"If that's what you call it" I respond
She opens the door hesitantly. Marlene was sweet but also determined, my mom named her Leader only a week before her death. She was the only one there for me. My uncle Tommy had radioed but he couldn't really be here and, well uncle Joel, well he is anything but a firefly.
"You ready"
"Well for what"
"We're a rebellion Lara, we need to be ready for anything."
"I mean today, what's on the agenda"
"Nothing much for you, still want the government to believe you died with your mother."
"So what do I do"
"You need to care for a girl. Very precious."
"Why"
"What"
"Why is she precious"
"Well if your lucky. I'll tell you"
"Marlene"
"Lara"
"What can you tell me"
"Her names Ellie and she's a good friend... and she's in the last door on the right hall"
"Alright. I go there once I clean"
"Good"
I begin to ready myself, rise from my bed and creek upon the 23 years old floorboards. Something about the ominous girl that Marlene is referring to seems to be the thing amiss us that has been creeping around my bedchamber. I suspect soon enough I will have to speak to the people but now I will smile at the small tasks assigned to me by Marlene.
"Lana"
"Yes"
"Your Uncle Tommy, talk to you lately"
"Literally radio silence"
"Ha, and Joel"
"Nothing from him directly. Some form tess"
"Well I hope they contact soon, I think they will"
"Thanks Mar"
She smiled a warm smile to me. Mar always seemed to know how to make me smile. But a pice of me will always remember that smiles can also come from traitors something form the natural instinct side of me I think. All I know is that I am the meaning of a rebellion, that comes with responsibility's I must uphold to hold my mother and to avenge her death.
