I see the multiple scars on my anatomy
I see the bad case of acne
I see my oily skin and uneven complexion
My crooked teeth and imperfect smile
I see my oversized bosoms,
Not-so-flat tummy, flabby arms and jiggly thighs.
But what I don't see is the term 'ugly'.
What I see is beauty beyond comparison
I see: Perfect Imperfection
Genuine beauty that cannot be surgically forged.
I have the occasional surge of insecurity coursing through my veins
Just like everyone does.
But being able to smile on a daily basis
And be authentic and true to myself
That, in itself, makes me beautiful.
Women and girls all around the world:
You Are Beautiful
And don't you dare let anyone else tell you different.
