Title: Baka Wa Kaze O Hikanai

Prompt: "Cough - I'm sick"

A/N: See below.

"Cough, I'm sick."

Nya slowly turned her head, side-eyeing her brother. "And that is my problem because . . ."

"You are my super awesome sister who wants to get me a blanket?" he asked hopefully.

Nya let out a long sigh. "Fine." She peeled herself off the comfort of the couch and grabbed an extra blanket from the ottoman, snapping it open and draping it nicely over Kai, carefully checking to make sure he was fully covered. "Better?" she asked, unusually sweet.

Kai wiggled and burrowed into the couch, enjoying the attention and warmth. "Very much, thank you."

Nya flopped down next to him, annoyed, knowing that another request was incoming. Kai coughed again and she couldn't tell if he was actually sick or just faking to get her to do things for him.

"Could you get me a drink, and a snack?"

Nya raised her eyebrow and pursed her lips. She sat up and crossed her arms, studying him. If he was faking being sick, his act was good, he genuinely looked miserable. She got up and returned moments later with a bottle of sparkling water and Ninja Chips. Kai hummed in appreciation.

"Can you change the TV to a different movie?" he tried, knowing he was pushing the boundaries.

Nya huffed but fulfilled his request, then cuddled next to him. After a few minutes of zoning out, she finally spoke. "Kai?"

"Uuuunnn," he murmured.

"Did you know something?"

He tensed, then ventured, "What?"

"I know that you are not actually sick."

There was a stifled breath then a pause before Kai finally asked, "And how do you know that?"

"Because idiots never get colds."

A/N: As I mentioned in my Sick Day - Jay one-shot from my Theories of Relativity book, there is a saying in Japanese that roughly translates as "idiots never get colds." It is usually said as an insult or backhanded complement. Sometimes the fire ninja needs to get burned. XD
