Fog enveloped the city. The flickering flame of the lamp posts forced the shadows to move. Dark silhouettes of trees stood firmly amongst the billowing fog. Rushing water disturbed the eerie silence. The damp smell of leaves was unable to wash over people due to empty streets. The glowing clockface showed midnight as the bells obnoxiously.

Footsteps emerged as the bells finished. They're clothes matched their name. Onyx. As the detective crept down countless alleyways, the fog persevered in hiding lurking suspects from view. The dormant city did little to muffle the sound of boots against cobbled roads. Onyx's heart dropped as turned the corner to be met with a sight that would be burned into their eyelids forever. There hunched over a familiar unconscious body was Mr T. Onyx felt weak as the knife split through the skin of their husband. Mr T smiled as he slowly dragged the knife across James' neck. "Caught in the act Mr T," they said coldly.

Onyx gripped Mr T's collar and shoved him against the rough brick wall of the alley. "You killed all those men didn't you?" Onyx snarled, "You slit their throats and carved your name into their skin didn't you!" Mr T smirked. Onyx could feel the anger in their bones. "ANSWER ME!" Onyx yelled as they dropped the criminal to the floor. "I did it," cheered Mr T. All of a sudden his demeanor changed entirely. "I did it?" he sobbed. Onyx watched repulsed as the man crumpled to the floor. The detective kicked the knife from Mr T's reach.

The murderer sat staring at his hands in horror. "I did it," he mumbled. Onyx hesitantly picked up the knife. Trembling, Mr T stood up. "I'm not safe," he cried, "I'm a danger." The detective backed away as Mr T drew nearer. "I've hurt people," Mr T continued, "It's time I feel what they did." With that he lunged forwards, impaling his neck on the knife. MR T fell to the floor spluttering as blood seeped from his neck. The once grey cobble stone was now a crimson red.

"The monster's gone now." Mr T hoarsely whispered as his eyes rolled back into his head. Onyx felt a tear slide down their cheek. They sank down to their knees. Staring emptily at the two corpses proved too much, Onyx couldn't cope any longer. The knife that stayed in their clenched fist offered freedom. The detective took the invitation. The knife found it's way to the third neck of the night. As the blade hit bone a muffled wail echoed across the city. Fog enveloped their mind and the city.
