Salty Potato

As I supervised the armorsmiths as they made better sets of armor, I grimly thought of the war. The Soda Kingdom was small and unbelievably poor. I knew that all the money, food, and supplies were going straight to the king. His citizens and soldiers were starving and always cold. They all hated him. If we could just find a way to defeat the Soda Sorcerer, we could add to our numbers...

An old woman, whom I recognized as the maid, Chicken Pot Pie, came rushing towards the center of the town. I rushed out immediately and blocked her path with my sword. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU LOW-LIFE, BOTTOM-FEEDING, UNDEREDUCATED, UNHYGIENIC, SLIMY, NO-NECK, TOXIC, TRIPLE CHINNED, OXYGEN-WASTING, CRUDE, GUTLESS, FOUL-SMELLING, BUCKTOOTHED, CORRUPT, FELONIUS, DISEASE RIDDEN, GHOULISH, VULGAR, DESPICABLE, STAIN?! She yelled in my face.

"As a high general, I would think that I wouldn't be classified as a worm. Don't you think, dear?"

"Oh......I'M SO SORRY!"

"Is this how you treat people regularly?" I asked while putting the sword closer to her throat. "Perhaps we should head back to the palace. Our cherished Empress is waiting."

I tore off a piece of her tunic and bound it around her wrists. The fabric was worn and old, so I could hardly fail to notice the glint of silver in her hands. I immediately recognized it as one of the Empress's ceremonial daggers. I pretended not to notice, to see when the old nurse would try to attack me. About halfway to the Palace, she whirled around and struck at my face. I caught the attack on my sword and disarmed her. The dagger went flying and I caught it. She attempted to run, so I stuck out a foot and she fell on her face. "Well, well, well. Looks like I've just found the second traitor.
