Kick Thirty-Eight: Lucy's Letter&Downfall

Sighing, she grabbed the cafe's iPad, and sashayed over to the large group. "How are we doing this evening?" Lucy smiled sweetly.

"Good, can you just order all of us some of that ass?" One of them grinned.

'Great, just what I need right now...'

Lucy glared, "Look, this ass is reserved for a man fighting in the service, and if you test me, I will dick kick you to next year."

The men hollered, earning annoyed huffs from the blonde barista, "That's it..." Lucy hummed, "Keep laughing..."

Lucy started giggling, her lips pursed, "I'm going to kindly ask you to leave, and if you refuse, I have legal rights to escort you off the property,"

"Or what? You'll do our makeup?" A man smirked, earning a chuckle from the blonde.

She sighed, pitying the poor man for what was to come. Her leg swooped up, her glamorous red heels making sharp contact with his cheek.

"Now now boys, leave a tip and I won't file for harassment." She smiled, winking and walked back around the cafe's small counter.

"Ah, just like the good ole days." She sighed, watching everyone around the cafe.

After a while, Yukino came in to relieve Lucy of her long shift at the cafe, and told Lucy to rest.

On her way home, Lucy sang to the radio, screaming and hollering as she went. Once she finally reached the campus, she checked her mailbox, and her eyes popped.

She grabbed her mail, looking through her massive pile of letters, when she came across one from a military base in Crocus.

"What?" She shook her head confused, since what had been Natsu's camp was based in Magnolia.

She tore the letter open, her eyes slowly reading over the hot pink letter... no.

Her eyes watered so much she choked, squeezing the letter in hand, this can't be. She refused to believe it. It can't be. She crumpled the letter in her hand, grabbing the rest of the mail and made her way to the dorm, opening the door and shattering like glass in front of her two college roommates.

"Lu?!" Mira shrieked, running to her friend in disbelief.

"Lucy?! What's wrong?" Juvia asked worriedly.

"He...no." Lucy shoved the hot pink crumpled letter into Mira's hands as she fell to the floor, her screams echoing through the small dorm.

"Natsu..." Mira shook her head, grabbing Lucy and pulling her into a tight embrace, as Juvia read the letter, her mouth dropped.

Natsu was dead.
