The woman in the doorway popped her bubble gum with a resounding crack that echoed throughout the gymnasium. She wore cargo pants and a bullet proof vest. Her long lavendar hair tumbled from a pony tail behind her back, and her eyes held a secret maddness that made almost everyone who met her wary. She didn't appear armed, but from the way that Oliver tensed up, she must have been dangerous.

"I'm not going to ask again, Freakshow!" She said, "hand over the brat!"

"You didn't ask the first time!" Oliver yelled back, shoving himself between her and Squirt. The young girl clung to his lab coat, with tears pooling in her eyes.

Sapphire's blizzard raised in intensity, then all at once, all the snow, the ice, and the frost she could muster went flying straight at the trio in the doorway.

"Wait--!" Oliver yelled, but it was too late.

The woman clicked her tongue distastefully. The figure to her left-- a man in a deep black cloak that hid his figure from his head to his feet-- simply rasied an arm. In front of them a violently purple sphere ripped the fabric of space and swallowed the attack without a sound. Barely seconds later another portal opened, and everything that Sapphire had thrown rained down on Ivan and Xeno.

The bubblegum woman laughed, "Oh man! You just made my day, Frosty! I've been waiting all week to slaughter someone!"

Oliver glanced down at Squirt, msutering as much of a smile as he could, "It's going to be alright." He told her.

"Yeah, Squirt!" Felix called over, standing tall, next to Jax, "We're going to protect you!"

The woman laughed like that was the funniest thing she had ever heard. If there was ever a time for a battle, it was now. The woman raised an arm, and her third companion leapt forward, discarding her cloak. She dropped to all fours and snarled at them, her blue eyes morphing into a brilliant yellow, as before their eyes her body morphed and changed into the sleek black fur and paws of a panther.

Then the animal charged at Oliver and Squirt.
