~Earlier, after school, Friday.~

Laddi sat on the floor, her hair a short, nappy, curly mess, a determined look on her face, her yellow knit sweater caught on her shoulders, her rectangular reading glasses slipping off the bridge of her nose, her eyes tired.

"LADDI!"

her ears perked up to the voice of her brother . She scrambled off the floor, tossed her glasses to the bed, filled with glee to hear another human being.

"MATTTYYYYY." she jumped on her brother, who was caught off guard . he was able to hold her up.

"I was so bored! and lonely!" she whined . "My model is 75% done but im 100% done with it! This is terrible for my extroverted selffff"

matt put her down. "K lil sis. Listen, Ive got a friend who needs his siblings-"

'are they his siblings?' matt thought.He guessed so.

"-To be watched, I told him you might like to-"

laddi screeched "Yes." and ran down the stairs to the door.

" laddi your in shorts and your barefoot go clean yourself up before I disown you as my sister! " Matt complained, grabbing onto the railing.

Laddi groaned. "Children Matt! The children need me!"

" The children need someone presentable as their babysitter! " he pointed sharply down the hallway to his right, to her room.

Laddi walked up the stairs, stuck her tounge out at her brother, and stomped to her room, slamming the door.

Matt screeched. "Stop being so loud! this is a town house!" he rolled his eyes.

" Your so sloppy in fashion! How can you be related to meee!? "

Laddi smiled behind her door, 'please.' she thought. 'Atleast im organized.' she looked to the floor for a brush. she eyed her model and the scraps around it, a mess.

'Atleast, I usually am.'

she shrugged, and began to comb out her hair, its roots blond, a few inches of the beginning of the strands also blond, and the rest dyed brown. all in a short curly bushy style.

Once she combed through it, she pulled on a pair of black leggings under her jean shorts. she put on yellow boots, her favorite ones with the laces up front, she could run in them. And a yellow sweater with a lazy bean-like bee print on it.

She grabbed her backpack and began to fill it with crayons, stickers, stuff she thought kids would like.

she wandered out her room slinging on her bookbag. Matt began to make a sandwich in the kitchen.

"Dont use all the bread Matt." she pouted with a glare. Matt had a habit of forgetting which toaster setting was for bread. And he often burned several slices for one sandwich.

"Its the first setting, I always have to remind you." she sighed and wandered over and pushed the knob to the first space.

he stuck his tounge out at her. She poked it with a finger and made him squirm.

she giggled at him hiding his tounge. "Where are you guys going this time?"

he hummed and put a finger to his chin after dropping two slices of bread in.

"Edd said something about a festival, I dont remember the name."

"Nork boat.." he began to mumble names. " Bork soat..no.. "

"North Oak?" Laddi smiled, her chin resting on the palm of her hand, she had sat down at the dinner table with her phone out.

matt snapped his finger. "Yes!" then the toaster went off, startling him. He reached for the toast.

" Dont burn yourself. " laddi called.

"Pfft- Im a highschooler. Im smart. I wont-"

and laddi rolled her eyes as Matt screeched "Hot! Hot! Hot! Hot!" while playing hot potato with a slice of toast.

Laddi smiled.'Well, its potato bread anyways. ' it was sweeter than normal bread, Matt took a liking to it.

Matt sat down, and he gave her the keys to Toms house.

"y'know where Tord's house is?" he started

" Mhm. "

"yeah, well, its somewhere along there, Tom and Tord walk down there together."

" Whos Tom? " Laddi never heard of this, Tom guy, is he a new friend?

"Tom is the new kid, Tom... I dont remember his last name- but hes pretty cool. He's got some pretty neat glasses." Matt took a bite of his sandwich .

"Does he have one of the sweaters?"

"Yeah. Tord handed it to him today."

laddi seemed to be thinking. "tord seems to have a lot to do with Tom."

matt thought about it aswell. "Tord was the one who brought him to our table on his first day...He also apparently knows and has seen Toms siblings...hes also in his class..."

" Man, Lad, your right. He does have a lot to do with him. "

Laddi hummed , still in thought.

"I never really thought about that." matt shrugged.

laddi peered to the house key, it was painted a light blue, white and yellow streaks on the bottom half of it.

'how would I find the house?' she wondered.

she doubted Matt knew. she figured she'd just listen or look for any signs of children along the path Tord takes. She knew it by a delivery of one of matts broken mirrors, he begged her to go to Tord, and gave her directions, Tord fixed it in a few minutes and sent her on her way.

matt sighed, finishing his food, he dropped the plate in the sink. "Im on my way to meet Edd. I guess you should also go too."

Laddi nodded. Than glared at Matt as he walked away from the sink.

"Wash your fucking plate. Last time connor came over he could smell the ribs in the sink." she growled.

Matt whined. "But-"

"No buts. Go." she pointed to his plate.

"Im leaving now. you better do it. Im not trying to babysit a highschooler to make sure he washes his damn plate." she opened the door and hopped down the steps.

The sun was out, it was a nice cool breeze out, 'maybe ill take the kids out to the park.' she thought.

as she continued down her path, she turned a corner and ran right into a red figure, Tord, and a blue figure who hid themselves in Tords sleeve.

she smiled at it, it looked adorable. She could see a bit of a flustered state on Tord.
'awwww' she thought. she wished she could take a photo.

"Hi Laddi" he gave her a weak, tired smile.

"Hi Tord!" she giggled. She peered over to the figure, now closer, and she noticed a display of fear as the blue figure shivered.

she paused, she felt worried. "Is he okay? "

Tord nodded. "Hes just a little shaken, thats all. "

she felt reassured again, she smiled

'shaken. Hah, good one Tord' she guessed that tord would obviously feel the shivering of the boy.

"oh." she said.
" Feel better! " she called to the figure, and she walked off, concerned for the blue hooded-

'wait' she thought.
'blue hoodie...Tord has a red hoodie...Edd green...Matt..'

'Oh shit.'
'That was Tom.' she realized. What was wrong with him? what happened? She hoped he was okay.

than she began to think again.

'Tom and Tord both seen in the same place again...Tom was grabbing onto Tords arm...Tord seemed flustered.' she was deep in thought.

'do they like eachother?' she questioned, and then she smiled. She could definitely see it. But maybe she was thinking too far deep into it, she shrugged it off.

for now.

she was going to continue straight, when she looked down a corner to her left, a light blue house, with white and yellow streaks at the bottom of it. and on the driveway. she guessed it was done by children. And the key was to match the house.

'clever ' she thought.

she walked up to the steps. put in the key and unlocked the door, she opened it and saw a little girl laying on the floor as her younger brother held a toy stethoscope to her heart.

Laddi smiled at the scene, The girl looked up to her and jumped up.

"Babysitter!" she cheered .

the boy whined on the floor for the disruption of his check up.

"Your name is Laddi!"

Laddi smiled. "Yep."
" who told you? "

"Big brother Tom did!" she smiled.

Soke tugged Laddi's sweater. she looked to him.

"Hows Tom. Did you see him?"

Laddi cringed, she remembered seeing poor ol' Tom clutching onto Tord hiding his face, and the stressed out, tired look on Tord.

so she lied.

"Yep, I saw him walking down with his friend Tord. He waved at me."

the little girl chirped."Good! My name is Asha. hes soke." she poked sokes face. He stuck out his tounge.

" Tom left you a note on the table. " soke patted the stool, showing he wanted to get up. Laddi put down her backpack and picked him up and placed him on the stool. Asha climbed up on her own.

laddi grabbed the folded looseleaf, and began to unfold it to read the letter written in blue ink.

Dear Laddi,

Thanks for coming to take care of these two on such a short notice, I left some sandwiches in the fridge incase you guys get hungry and your too full of their bs to cook for them.

Laddi giggled, she thought the kids wouldn't be all that bad.

Dont let them have candy, its like drugs for them. I doubt you would have, but i just wanted to make sure, honestly do what you want with them, just make sure they dont fight,get hurt or die.

Someone named Namki, who watches them and me, will get home at 5. You can just give her the key and run as far away from this house as possible, You'd want to.

Anyways, thanks again, I'll be at the North Oak festival with Matt and two other friends, if something goes wrong, call 911.

Laddi smiled at the humor in Toms note, she folded it and put it in her pocket. there was some info she might need later.

she checked the time. 3:45

'at least an hour with these kiddos' she thought.

she clapped her hands together. "O-Kay.'
" whos hungry. "

soke raised his hand and Asha rested her head on the table. Laddi took out the plate and let Soke choose his sandwich shape. He chose a star.

Laddi set the plate back and gave Asha paper,Asha cheered when she saw crayons.

laddi took out her bee stickers.
'where should I mark my territory...' she thought, every place she went, she left a sticker on something, this time, she chose the fridge.

Asha went on a drawing spree, coloring atleast 20 pictures, she ran up to Laddi with her pile of paper,drawings of spiky purple balls on sticks, 'what are those supposed to be, and how long was i searching for her to have drawn all of this.' Soke came up with 15 sheets of paper, Laddi sat with them and told them to choose 1 from their pile to display on the fridge. Asha chose a drawing of banana pancakes while soke put up one of Tom, Laddi than got a genius idea.

she gave them some heart, star,smily face stickers, and she pointed to a hallway that led to toms room, a mischievous smile on her face. the kids caught on, and began to stick their artwork all over the walls. they giggled the whole time. Laddi sat crisscrossed in the middle of sed hallway to watch the kids vandalize the small hall

they finished up, Asha rolled out a white fluffy carpet in an empty room, Soke opened a box in the corner and dumped out its contents, Legos. Laddi came in with washed berries in a bowl.

For about 15 minutes, they collected enough blocks for a rainbow staff. Soke used it to dictate "Legoville" As Asha built him a office and Laddi made him a police force. The leader soon got tired and took a nap on the rug. laddi helped Asha clean up as they went to watch a movie, Soke had been placed lovingly into his racecar bed.

Asha and Laddi watched a movie on the couch until Namki came home, she greeted her.

"Hi sweet peas" she chirped from the door. Seeing Laddi writing on a notepad. Asha peering over her shoulder.

"Hi Namki." Asha smiled and hugged The short woman, she had short reddish hair, a few grey strands, and a white apron over a lilac shirt and black pants. she took off her boots and began to clean her glasses.

laddi stretched her arms over the counter.
"Soke is sleeping in his room." she yawned .

"Nice to know hes taking his nap earlier than usual." Namki smiled warmly . "Can I make you anything before you go?"

Laddi shrugged. "Im good. Where should I put Toms keys?"

Namki began to pull a pan out of the cabinets. "You can leave it on the doorknob to his room." Laddi went over and hung the keys there, she placed the sticky note on the door.

she went to go give Asha a hug, who accepted her open arms excitedly.

"come back later!" she begged.

Namki nodded. "Tom spends a lot of time watching after them, hes got some friends, I'd like him to go out more often."

Laddi nodded, "Ill make a copy of his housekey next time I get it." she chuckled . "I enjoyed being here! See you later then!" she called as she opened the door and left.

Namki sighed. "Help me make dinner for Tommy?" she looked to Asha, who cheered .

Soke woke up from the noise, and became upset to realize his babysitter was no where to be seen, he calmed down when he was told she was invited to babysit when she wanted.

~With Laddi~

she smiled as she walked home, she felt better after her long isolation in her room, she wondered how Tom was doing.

She got home and finished her project until Matt came in, he tiredly wandered in her room, dropped a white bag, and left, no words.

laddi was pleased to find honey, she picked up the bee charm and placed it on her bookbag, which was hung on the leg of her chair.

The note on the bag being just another "Thank you" from Tom. She smiled and went to make toast.
