Welcome to 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒃𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 !

If you're looking for a marichat au filled with drama, happiness, angst, love, annnnnd a story dated in a past timeline, then you're looking in the right place! If this book doesn't have you at least shedding one tear, then it hasn't yet fulfilled its purpose.

AS OF RIGHT NOW, this book is currently ON HOLD in the editing and revising process. You are more than welcome to read the unedited version for now. Things may be added to the original storyline as the editing and revising continues. Words and phrases may also be changed. However, the plot will still remain the same regardless of whatever changes I decide to make.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, I'm sorry to inform that Forbidden Love will not be having a sequel. It was canceled due to personal reasons, but mostly because it was deteriorating from the purpose of the original story.

Forbidden Love now has the Text-to-Speech option!

He was enchanted, she was not.
She was human, and he was not.

Complete opposites they were. Yet, both continued to fall dangerously deeper into a forbidden love.

This book is in NO way shape or form here to belittle women or women's rights. The setting for this book is dated back sometime between 1890-1900, or during what was called the "Victorian Era" which lasted from 1837-1901 (the marking of England's Queen Victoria's reign.) During this time, women's rights were incredibly limited—if existing at all. Because of their reproductive system, women were seen (by men) as emotional and unstable to the point where they were incapable of making rational decisions—hence why one of the main things women were fighting for during this time was the right to vote.

Since Marinette not wanting to marry is one of the main focuses of this book, her reasoning behind it is rather justified. Marriage in itself was something that was usually dreaded back then. As soon as a woman was married, she basically ceased to exist as her own person. She would become one person with her husband and thereafter everything she did was under his direction. Once they were married, many were treated little better than slaves, and she was under the complete and total supervision of her husband. Not only did he have control of all her possessions (including children), but he also had control over her body. Refusal of sex was grounds for annulment of the marriage. A husband was allowed to beat his wife, and even rape her, without fear of prosecution. Only women who never married or widowed could own their own property and possessions.

It really hurts my heart just trying to imagine the pain these women had to endure, which is why I'm so adamant about the Women Suffrage timeline (which is the NUMBER ONE main focus of this book and all of my future-planned past timeline stories), a timeline which lasted between 1840-1920... though is not necessarily limited to just this timeline either—considering there is still so much inequality that women are currently facing to this day.

Marinette will be a major character in this book who will strive to rebel against society's standards, and rise to become an equal amongst men. This book will show—through Marinette's troubles and deceptions—that despite what one looks like, ALL men and women are created equal and should be treated as such. My intentions for writing this book is solemnly to give the reader an inside look (through fictional characters) on what it was like for a woman some centuries ago. This book is not intended to offend anyone. If you are offended by any of the events in this book, I would like to apologize in advance. Be aware, however, that warnings are posted above. It was never my intention to offend anyone with this story.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, please DO NOT copy any of my work. You are welcome to use any of my quotes with proper credit. Please be aware that copying someone else's work without their permission is considered stealing, and theft is considered a crime. A crime which is punishable by law.

To sum all of that up: use your own ideas! 💡

And don't be a thief.

Also, NO self promotion of any kind is allowed in the comment section. I find promoting your book in someone else's to be extremely rude. If you would like me to promote your book, you're more than welcome to ask me through a pm, but comments promoting books in this story will be ignored and deleted.

Anyway... now that everything's been covered, I hope you enjoy this story!!
