There's banging from beneath a hatch within the technodrome. Kraang droids lurk near it and their heads tilt towards the noises as they get louder. They raise their guns and stalk towards it and with a bang, the hatch flips open and Michelangelo comes zooming out, smacking down any enemies with swift swipes of his nunchucks. The other turtles and Destiny clamber from the exit, staggering themselves around them as the last echoes of the powered down droids resonate in the hallways.

They continue wordlessly, racing towards the main control room and cutting down any Kraang that get in the way so quickly that none of them have the chance to retaliate. Once through the door, Raphael spins his sais and jams one into the control panel, locking the door against any advancing alien.

"We made it," he breathes. "Wow, that was easy."

"Um, Raph?" Michelangelo calls.

Raphael turns around, taking in the sight of the room. Numerous giant fan blades slice through the air at different heights along the room's levels and Kraang droids pilot the technodrome while Kraang Floaters zip around in their mini hovering ships. The fans disturb the air in the room, sending Destiny's curls whipping around her face while the turtles hardly notice their waving mask tails.

"Aw, Kraang," Raphael mumbles.

"That one goes first because of the stupid hat!" Destiny calls, pointing to the one Kraang with a giant captain's hat on its head.

"Bad time to play 'what not to wear', Des," Donatello says, his fingers tightening around his bō staff.

Destiny tosses her uchigatana to her dominant hand with a smirk. "I stand by my word, Donnie."

"It is a pretty stupid hat," Leonardo agrees. His eyes go white as he forms a protective "x" with his katanas. "Mutants, attack!"

They lunge forward, slicing into the aliens immediately in front of them. Michelangelo goes leaping over the Kraang Floaters, laughing the entire time.

"Leo, I'm leader in Dimension X!" he shouts as he kicks the Kraang from their ships. The brains squeal as they plummet towards the ground.

The orange-masked turtle sends his kusarigama chain flying, wrapping around the mutagen tube in the centre of the room. He swings around, snagging a Kraang's gun, kicking some in the head, and then takes out the Captain Kraang as Leonardo and Destiny slice the nearest pilots into pieces.

"Then figure out a way to take out all these Kraang droids!" Leonardo orders.

Michelangelo nods and reengages in the action. Spider-droids appear from holes in the walls, crawling along with their metallic legs clicking. Donatello and Raphael stand on the spinning blades and smack and stab any Kraang that flies by, sending a few into the blades so that their floaters are cut in half.

Michelangelo soars by with two floaters on each foot, a Kraang gun in each hand. "Oh, yeah! Check me out!" he whoops, guns blazing.

He zips around, shooting down remaining ships easily while shutting the open hatches and preventing any more Kraang from showing up. He single-handedly clears the rest of the room, floating to the ground as he places his hands on his hips and flashes a proud smirk.

"Mikey, that was amazing!" Raphael praises.

"Dimension X plus years of video games equals Mikey awesomeness!" Michelangelo exclaims, pumping his fist.

"Great, just get this thing moving!" Leonardo snaps, eyes narrowed with determination. The orange-masked turtle slumps, then perks up and bounces off to another control panel. Leonardo's eyes meet Donatello's. "Donnie, what have we got?"

"Good news. It looks like we have access to their mutagen supply through this fuel tube," he reports, staring at the massive tube of mutagen in the centre of the room. "Not only do they use mutagen to terraform, they use it to power the ship. We've got a massive supply! Like...like this much!"

The purple-masked terrapin spins around with an excited and gappy grin brightening his face. Meanwhile, Michelangelo has been diligently tapping on the control panel. He presses a button before smacking his foot on the board, making two handles pop up in front of him. The ship hums to life as the giant window at the front turns on with a buzz. The technodrome starts moving.

"Yes! She's moving! Let's save New York!" he whoops as he grabs the steering handles.

"Finally!" Destiny breathes, bouncing on the balls of her feet in excitement. "I feel like I'm in a real life episode of Nurse What!"

"That would be amazing!" Leonardo gasps, the two of them letting out little fan-mutant squeals as they grin at each other.

"Don't even start with that sci-fi stuff! Focus!" Raphael shouts. "First the starship explorers, now the time travelling medical professionals. Give it a rest!"

They instantly stop and clear their throats, readying themselves for the mission at hand, and yet neither of them can completely erase the traces of glee from their lips or eyes. The ship's scanners zoom in on one of the islands, revealing the Kraang humans at work.

"We have a visual on the human hybrids, Donatello," Leonardo calls. "We need that portal ready to go."

"Give me two seconds," Donatello responds, grabbing his super-mutagen. "I've got to add the retro-mutagen."

He plunges the tube into the insertion port on the panel, the orange substance emptying into the ship's fuel tank. Immediately, the ship's lights short out and a loud grinding noise sounds, making Destiny's ears flatten against her head. The ship comes to a complete stop.

"Something's wrong. What's going on, Donnie?! Report!" Leonardo commands.

"I told you, the technodrome runs on mutagen," Donatello responds frantically, tapping a button. It sparks and smokes, making him yelp. "The engines just can't take retro-mutagen, Captain!"

"Oh Ryan! Whatever shall we do?" Destiny asks dramatically, pretending to faint into Leonardo's arms as she drapes on arm across her forehead.

He holds her up, his body straightening as he dons a determined look. "I don't know, my dear. However, I shall find a way."

He sticks one finger up in the air as he pouts heroically.

She makes a dramatic sighing sound. "My hero..."

Raphael lets out a noise of disbelief. "I swear, you two are perfect for each other in the stupidest way."

Leonardo and Destiny look at him, slightly perturbed, but then they laugh. "Thanks!" they say in sync. A quick glance at each other later, Leonardo lifts her back to her feet and they step away from one another.

Michelangelo flicks his wrist as he starts tapping the control panel again. "Chill out, dudes! I just need to alter the ship's fuel converters, tweak the quantum defiblitrons, and voilã!"

The ship whirs to life again as it starts moving, the fuel tube filling with orange retro-mutagen before their eyes.

"Mikey, you're—" Raphael starts.

"A genius, I know," Michelangelo says.

"Wasting time!" Raphael corrects—a lot louder than he needed to, one should note. "Get this thing moving! We have to save the humans already!"

A loud buzzing sounds from the door and a chainsaw blade appears. The yellow-green eye of Kraang Subprime appears in the slit left behind.

"Here's Kraangy!" he says, dragging out the first word.

"Okay, Donnie, we need that portal open!" Leonardo calls. "Call up the Mutanimals!"

The turtle already has his t-phone out and dialled. "Come in, Doctor Rockwell. Doc? You there?" Donatello asks into the device. "Anybody?!" He looks to his brothers with a panicked expression.

"Great. If the Mutanimals can't transport us back, cancel the entire rescue mission," Raphael grumbles.

"And us going home," Leonardo points out. Destiny's tail fur spikes and she starts to smooth it down hastily.

They stir for a moment, stomachs curling and nerves rising, but then Donatello's phone buzzes to life and Doctor Rockwell appears on the screen.

"Donatello, we are back online. Thirty seconds until we teleport you home," the chimp says.

"Sending coordinates now, adjusting for fifth-dimensional space," Donatello says, tapping away on his panel.

The screen moves in on the Kraangitized New Yorkers.

"There they are. The hybrids! Aw man, look at them. They're forced to work like Kravarian ant-people," Michelangelo whimpers.

"Well, not much longer. You ready with that retro-mutagen, Raph?" Leonardo asks.

"Locked and loaded!" Raphael nods.

"Fire!" Michelangelo and Leonardo shout together.

The beam of retro-mutagen hits the hybrids, returning them all to normal within a few seconds. They start to choke and collapse to their knees, unable to breathe.

"Sweet skills, Raph," Michelangelo praises.

"We're not out of this mess yet," Destiny warns, looking towards the door. Her hand flies to the weapon hilt at her hip.

"I'm just getting started, mutants! I'm coming for your sweet shells!" Subprime bellows as he keeps sawing at the door.

"Donnie, we need those humans teleported out now!" Leonardo yells.

"I'm on it!" With a few pushes of some buttons, the humans disappear from Dimension X. Everyone lets out a breath of relief. "We did it. We turned a multidimensional transmat device into a mass-displacement teleporter!" Donatello exclaims, clasping his hands together.

"I have no idea what you just said, but hooray?" Raphael guesses, grinning.

"That's how we're going home, Raph. Teleportation, y'all," Michelangelo whoops.

"Just like Space Heroes!" Leonardo and Destiny squeal together. They grab each other's hands and squeeze as they giggle like little fangirls.

Raphael's eyes bulge and he crosses his burly arms over his plastron. "No way! Forget it. You're not beaming my particles!" he insists.

"Surprise! Forget about me, turtles?" Subprime cackles as he busts through the door, flanked by Kraang droids.

"Okay, let's start beaming particles, Donnie!" Raphael cries.

"Des, cover me!" Leonardo orders.

She whips out her uchigatana and dashes after him. While she slices down any droid that gets too close, Leonardo also deflects bullets. They stay back to back, defending one another against whatever comes their way.

"Eliminate the ones called the turtles and the one called Destiny."

Destiny slices into the alien as she and Leonardo are pushed back by a spray of bullets.

"You've gotta hold 'em off, guys! I've gotta pilot this thing!" Michelangelo shouts.

"Hold 'em off? How?!" Leonardo demands.

"Yeah, that's a real good question, Greenie," Subprime says, firing off a rocket that narrowly misses Destiny's shoulder as Leonardo yanks her out of the way.

The pair gets right back into battle, managing to just fend off the droids from their remaining three team members. Leonardo grabs onto Subprime's rocket launcher attachment as the alien prepares to fire, jerking the weapon upwards. The rocket breaks one of the fan blades off and sends it spiralling downwards until it embeds itself in the doorway, effectively blocking the only exit and entrance to the room.

"Excellent attack plan, Captain!" Destiny calls, saluting.

"Keep up the fight, Lieutenant!" he returns.

"There's one last island, Raph!" Michelangelo reports. "Do we have enough retro-mutagen?"

"Down to 10%!" Donatello responds.

Raphael fires, freeing the last of the humans from their wretched forms as they're teleported home. "That's it, that's all the humans," the red-clad turtle yells.

"Sending the last set of coordinates! Ours! Get us outta here, Rockwell!" Donatello shouts.

"Confirmed." Rockwell nods.

Leonardo is knocked aside by Subprime with a grunt, landing on the bridge between the blocked door and the control centre. Instantly, Destiny is next to him, defending him from the giant Kraang advancing on them every second, and he winces as he struggles back to his feet and scrambles for his fallen katanas.

"Leo! Des!" Raphael shouts as he barrels toward them, Donatello and Michelangelo following hastily.

"You're finished, mutant scum," Subprime cackles. "Finished!"

He lunges at them with his saw-hands blazing just as the five teenagers come together. In a flash, their bodies disappear and Subprime is left to saw at the empty space that they left behind.

On the streets of New York City, people start appearing all over in little flashes of light. At the same time, all the Kraang still left on Earth are transported back to their home planet. As the turtles and Destiny reappear, landing on a rooftop, cheers erupt from the ground.

Leonardo crawls to the edge of the building, taking in the celebrating New Yorkers as the lights of the city flicker back on. His sapphire eyes seem to sparkle as the cheering washes over him in a wave.

"We did it," he breathes, a grin spreading across his face. "Somehow we did it!"

"We're the best! Go, ninja! Go, ninja, go!" Michelangelo whoops as he whips off his Kraang hat.

Destiny removes her oxygen converter and takes a deep breath, gazing up at the moon and spreading her arms out as far as they can go as she shuts her eyes. The cool night air is like a gift against her skin and in her lungs.

Casey, April, Diaval and Mr. Kurtzman leave the Pizzeria, staring in shock at the crowds that have come back. April's gaze travels down the street and she catches sight of a familiar redheaded man.

"Dad?" she whispers, her face brightening. "DAD!"

She dashes to him as he turns, his aged face losing some wrinkles just by the sight of his daughter safe and alive. She hugs him tightly and he wraps his arms around her, their eyes filling with tears.

Diaval and Casey witness the reunion, Kurtzman eyeing it before turning and heading off down the street. Casey whistles and hooks his hands behind his head, his lips quirked upwards.

"So...they did it," he muses. Diaval nods, and the hockey player takes a deep breath. "The apocalypse is over. What now?"

"Dunno. Life?" Diaval wonders.

"Casey?"

Casey's face slackens and he turns. Two people with black hair stare at him from across the street. One is a young girl with surprisingly blue eyes, her hair styled in a ponytail, and next to her is a well-built man with freckles and dark eyes. Casey's hands drop to his side and the next thing he knows, he's running across the street as fast as his legs can carry him.

"Dad! Andy!" he cries.

Diaval feels his chest tighten and he gulps, looking away from both families as they reunite. The door to the pizzeria opens just a crack and Diaval glances over his shoulder to see Master Splinter peering out at everything. The magical boy inches back inside, settling next to the rat as they both take in everything.

"It is a happy night for New York," Splinter comments, stroking his goatee.

"Mhm," Diaval mumbles, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He shuts his eyes and his lips part as he sucks in a breath. "I...miss Karai."

He feels the gentle pressure of a hand on his shoulder and his muscles tense up. Splinter's voice sounds against the clammer of the outside world.

"And I as well. You are not alone."

The hand has not left and yet Diaval's shoulders lose some tension. His lips twitch at the sides as a breeze rustles his hair.

Back on the rooftop, the turtles and Destiny continue to watch everything.

"Finally...everything is gonna go back to normal," Donatello says. He corrects himself a moment later, "Well, as normal as this city can get."

"Yeah, but what about the Mighty Mutanimals?" Raphael asks.

"What about us?" a rumbling voice asks behind them.

They turn to see Leatherhead, Slash, Doctor Rockwell, and Pigeon Pete climbing onto the same rooftop, safe and sound.

"Leatherhead! My big green buddy!" Michelangelo greets, hugging his friend for the umpteenth time since their first reunion.

"We made it, my friend," the alligator returns.

"Looks like our plan worked, Doctor," Donatello says to Rockwell.

"Yes, and teleporting the Kraang back to Dimension X was a stroke of genius," the chimp agrees.

"You gotta admit, Leo," Raphael says, clapping a hand on his brother and Slash's shoulders. "We couldn't have done this without Slash and his team."

"You did great, Slash," Leonardo says, holding out his hand. "I'm sorry I doubted you. Everyone deserves a second chance." He doesn't notice Destiny smile at his words from nearby.

"I just tried to model myself after the best leader I ever knew," Slash says as he grasps the smaller terrapin's hand. "You."

They shake. Leonardo steps away and pivots, coming face to face with Destiny. She flashes her signature fanged smile and he feels his heart start to pound.

"Well, captain, you saved the world," she says, nudging his plastron with her fist.

He laughs, grasping her hand in his own. "Only because I had my favourite team with me," he retorts, pressing a quick kiss to her knuckles.

Her cheeks flush with colour as their hands part ways. She brushes a loose curl behind her ear and glances at her feet.

"We did work well together today, huh?" she murmurs. "We should try to keep it that way."

He nods. "I would love that. I've missed fighting at your side."

"Honestly? Me too."

Leonardo smiles at her one more time before turning to the others. "Turtles. Mutanimals. Wolves." He grins as every pair of eyes falls on him. "It's time to celebrate!"

Everyone lets out a hearty, "Booyakasha!"
