Nadia was dressed in her school uniform consisting of a white long-sleeve shirt tucked into blue trousers and a blue blazer. She had left her dark hair in its unruly curls, and her face was make up free.

As she walked beside Faryal as they headed for their lockers, she found the cover shoes pretty irritating. Nadia had never worn this type of shoe, so her feet were killing her. It was embarrassing that she was somewhat walking like a penguin.

"I've been meaning to ask, why aren't you wearing a veil?" Faryal inquired, as they opened their lockers.

Nadia corked her head to the side. "Why should I?"

"Aren't you a Muslim?"

"No," Nadia placed her books in her locker, keeping with her the one that she needed.

It was Faryal's turn to be confused. "But you bare the name of a Muslim," she pointed out.

The bell rang and they closed their lockers and started heading to their classes.

"Just because I have an Islamic name doesn't make me a Muslim. My mother was a Muslim, so she named me, Nadia. But the name I use for my academics is Alexandra, given to me by my father."

"So are you a Christian?" Faryal inquired.

"I don't have a religion," Nadia answered.

"So you don't believe in Allah?"

"I do."

"So why don't you have a religion?"

Nadia let out a breath of relief when she saw her class door. "I have to go, bye Faryal."

She didn't wait for her reply, she hurriedly entered the class and shut the door behind her. Thank goodness, no more questions.

She turned around to see the teacher and more than forty pairs of eyes staring at her. The teacher was a short, somewhat chubby woman with blond hair and brown eyes.

"So nice of you to join us," The teacher said, narrowing her eyes at her. "Are you new?"

"Yes," Nadia replied. "Sorry for being late."

The teacher's gaze softened. "It's alright. I will let you go for today but don't come late next time."

"I won't," Nadia promised with a small smile.

The teacher gestured towards the class. "Introduce yourself," she instructed Nadia.

She turned to the class, taking a deep breath before saying, " Good morning, my name is Alexandra Crawford, but I prefer you call me Nadia. I'm from America and I just found out, days ago that I'm an earth Elementalist."

There was a chorus of hellos and hi's. The teacher instructed her to take a seat. Nadia searched the classroom for Abhay and she found him on the fourth row beside the window, an empty seat beside him. She quickly went to seat beside him.

"Okay," the teacher clapped her hands to get back everyone's attention. "We have some new students here, who didn't miss out on last week because it was all revision. So you all know how we start because of the newcomers, how about we go over the history of how the elementalists came about."

She wrote on the board - The Coming About of the Elementalists.

"Many years ago, the world was created by the Hebrew God along with the sun, water, air, and earth deities. The Hebrew God created the humans, while the sun god create the sun, fire, and all-natural sources of heat for the humans, the water deities created the water for the humans to quench their thirst, the air god create oxygen while the earth deities create land for the humans to walk upon with food to satisfy their hunger.

Many years passed and the humans lived comfortably and happily, enjoying the things made for them, they worshipped the Hebrew God. They were grateful and fateful to him. The other deities were not happy, they wanted to create something similar, and they wanted their children to walk the earth. So each Deity of the different elements made their creation with their elements and they were scattered across the globe. These children were and are called Elementalists.

The elementals as we are called, reproduced and had their children, creating powerful species. The humans were not happy, they were scared of them and to eradicate that fear within them, they decided to kill us all. They created weapons of great power and destruction, wiping some of us out, a few fled and went into hiding.

A war engaged in the heavens between the deities and the Hebrew God. I'm not going to lie, the Hebrew God won and the other deities were cast out of the heavens. The deities were scared of creating other children, in fear of the humans killing them.

The other elementals who fled were scattered and lost, they couldn't find each other, so they made their creations. Babies who wear abandoned by their mothers were taken in by us and we breathed some of our powers into them. But we weren't as powerful as the deities, so the power seems to skip generations. When the powers are revealed in the bearer, the bearer becomes confused and finds it uncontrollable. They destroyed towns, cities, and villages and the humans killed anyone who is found with this power of one of the elements.

ForestLands institution was formed by Leonid Maksimilian in 1805, a Russian man who had the power to control the fire element. He first traveled the world, looking for the supernatural, and brought them to this school, this home. He learned about the Sensers and placed many of them on all the continents after they had learned how to control their powers. He took older people of different species who knew how to control their abilities to help teach the younger ones.

There are other schools of ForestLands around the world that are now owned by each of his great-grandsons. This school is owned by Misha Maksimilian, and we will forever be grateful to his great-grandfather for what he has done for us, the supernatural. Hopefully one day, we will stop hiding in the shadows and be able to live among humans in peace. This is our home and I'm happy to be here, you should be too."

The bell rang indicating that it was time for lunch. Nadia moaned why did the bell have to ring now? I was enjoying the lesson.

She sighed and packed her books in her bag. Both she and Abhay stood up from their seat. Nadia was about to walk out of the door when;

"Nadia, a moment please," Mrs. Crawford called.

Abhay placed a hand on her shoulder, "We will see you in the cafeteria." with that said, he left.

Nadia went to Mrs. Crawford's desk. "Yes?"

"Come later to my office to check your level. Okay?"

"Okay. Thank you."

Nadia didn't head for the Cafeteria immediately, she went to her locker first.
When she got to her locker, a boy was slouched lazily against her locker, his shoulder-length black hair forming a curtain around his face.

"Excuse me," she called.

When he looked up at her, she stepped back in fear and shock. His eyes were black and there was smoke coming out of them.

"Sorry," he apologized, moving away from her locker and leaning his side on the next one. His eyes went back to a normal black color. "They tend to do that a lot."

She nodded and hesitantly went to take some books from her locker, she didn't want to be near him after what she saw. No one needed to tell her that he was a demon. She kept peeking at him through the corner of her eyes.

Go away, please.

"You are Alexandra right?" he asked.

"Nadia."

"I heard you challenged Leia," he said.

"So?"

"You're going to lose..."

Nadia slammed her locker shut. "Is that wha-"

He interrupted, "If I don't help you."

"What?" she blurted.

"I can help you win against Leia."

"I don't need your help. Thanks though," she said. "I've got Abhay."

He scoffed. "Your little stone-throwing powers are useless against Leia."

She glared at him, then faced her locker, muttering under her breath, "Fuck you."

"What?" he asked with a smile, pretending not to have heard.

"Nothing," she said coldly.

Before she could blink, he reached out and pulled her cheeks. "So cute"

She swatted his hand. Blushing, she spluttered. "What are you-"

The demon interrupted her, "Do you even know her power?"

She quickly recovered from being a blushing mess. "I don't care," she grumbled but curiosity got the best of her. "What is her gift?"

He smirked. "If you accept my help, I will tell you."

"No thanks." she turned around and started walking away.

"Your ego will get you nowhere!" he called after her.

"Go to hell!" she retorted.

"Been there already!" was his comeback followed by his laughter.

"Idiot," she muttered before turning around the corner.
