Masked Boy POV

[All of the Signers went to where the Dark Signers were gathering. I have a plan and I already know the others won't like it but that won't stop me. I'm not going to lose anyone during these duels. In order to do that I'll duel each one after another. All of us stop and arrive at the meeting place]

3rd Person POV

Jack: So, what's the plan?

Masked Boy: Each Dark Signer wants to face against one of us Signers.

Crowe: Okay, who do we decide faces who?

Masked Boy: Simple. I'll face each one of them one after another.

Crowe: Are you crazy?

Masked Boy: I'm the best duelist out of all of us. Besides, I have a score to settle with each of them.

Luna: But each Dark Signer wants to face a different Signer.

Masked Boy: I have the full Crimson Dragon sign on my arm. I'll be fine.

Akiza: No. I'm against this plan.

Luna: So am I!

Rin: JP (Original), what did I tell you about putting yourself in danger like that?

Yugo: That's nuts, JP.

Jack: It's unanimous. We each face a different one.

Masked Boy: I'm sorry but that isn't happening.

[The Masked Boy throws a smoke bomb and then teleports away. The smoke then clears and the Masked Boy is nowhere to be found]

Jack: Where did he go?

Luna: He probably went off by himself.

JP (Syncro) He didn't need to do that. He could have just teleported himself at will.

Crowe: Well, everyone get in a car and let's go after him.

[Crowe and Jack try starting their duel runners, but they won't start. The car the others were riding wouldn't start either]

Jack: Damn it! He found a way to stop our bikes and our car.

Rin: He really didn't want us to follow him.

Yugo: How was he able to do that to your duel runner?

Crowe: He built them.

Yugo: Yeah, he build mine too.

JP (Syncro): That means I can fix them! I built them! Don't worry, guys. We'll make it after him.

Crowe: I hate to be negative but JP (Syncro). I have a question.

JP (Syncro): Yeah?

Crowe: Since he's the Original, if he loses, does that mean you'll disappear too?

JP (Syncro): I didn't think about that. It's possible that if we make it when he loses that he'll become part of me like before.

Luna: But his Dark Signer Counterpart is also after him.

Rin: Then we got to make sure that he doesn't lose to his Dark Signer Counterpart.

JP (Syncro): Enough talk, guys. I'll fix these and we'll get the move on.

[Meanwhile, the Masked Boy walks around the ruins to find a Dark Signer. He comes face to face with Devak]

Devak: You have a different opponent. I'm waiting for the little girl.

Masked Boy: You'll go nowhere near Luna. Your battle is with me.

Devak: I'm sorry to disappoint you but that isn't going to work.

Masked Boy: You scared? How could you pass up the chance to put down the strongest duelist first? You could possibly be stronger than my Dark Signer Counterpart. But if you're scared then I understand.

Devak: Enough with the insults! Why do you want to duel me so badly?

Masked Boy: You're going nowhere near Luna. Also you have something that belongs to her and I will take it back.

Devak: Fine. Once I beat you, I'll go after her but not with a duel disk but a sharper object.

[Devak's sign glows on the ground. All of the Signer's marks began to glow. The others still haven't found a way to get going]

Jack: The first duel is starting! We need to hurry up!

JP (Syncro): I'm working as fast as I can. He really did a number on these bikes.

[Devak and the Masked Boy activate their duel disks]

Masked Boy: Let's rev it up!

Turn 1-Masked Boy

Masked Boy-8000 LP/Devak-8000 LP

Masked Boy: I'll go first. My turn. I place one card face down. I place Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon in my Pendulum Zone. Turn end. I now activate the special ability of my Odd Eyes in my Pendulum Zone. By sending it to the Extra Deck, I can add Timegazer Magician to my hand.

Turn 2-Devak

Masked Boy-8000 LP/Devak-8000 LP

Devak: Don't waste my time, boy. My turn. I draw. I summon Flame Tiger in ATK Mode!

Flame Tiger: Level 4-1800 ATK/ 0 DEF

Devak: Now it will attack you directly!

Masked Boy: Trap card, open: Scrap Iron Scarecrow! This card negates your attack and then goes back face down.

Devak: I place two cards face down and end my turn.

Turn 3-Masked Boy

Masked Boy: My turn. Draw. I use Scale 1 Dragonpulse Magician and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician to set the Pendulum Scale! I'm taking control of this duel starting now! I can now summon monsters between levels 2 and 7 all at the same time! Swing far, Pendulum! Carve Arc of Victory! My monster is ready to swing into action! Turn up the heat Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon: Scale 4: Level 7- 2500 ATK/ 2000 DEF

Masked Boy: Battle. When I have Timegazer Magician in my Pendulum Zone and a Pendulum Monster battles, you can't activate any trap cards. Odd Eyes, take out his Flame Tiger! Spiral Flame Strike! When Odd Eyes deals battle damage, it doubles! Reaction Force!

Devak: Ahh!

Masked Boy: Turn end.

Turn 3-Devak

Devak: Interesting trick but it won't stop me! It's my turn! I draw! I place a monster face down in DEF Mode and end my turn.

Turn 4-Masked Boy

Masked Boy: My turn. Draw. I use the Pendulum Scale I've already set! I Pendulum Summon Flamvell Magician and Timegazer Magician. I now tune Level 4 Flamvell Magician and my Level 3 Timegazer Magician! Beat your wings to whip up a whirlwind of destruction! I Synchro Summon! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!

Devak: My Dark Resonator can't be destroyed once per turn!

Masked Boy: Clear Wing, pick up where Odd Eyes left off! Spinstorm Sky Strike!

Devak: Hmph.

Masked Boy: Turn end.

Turn 6-Devak

Devak: My turn. I draw. I place a monster face down in DEF Mode and end my turn.

Turn 7-Masked Boy

Masked Boy: I place one card face down. Now, time for take two! Odd Eyes, attack his face down monster! Spiral Flame Strike!

Devak: Hmph.

Masked Boy: Clear Wing, attack him directly! Spinstorm Sky Strike!

Devak: Ahh!

Masked Boy: Turn end.

Turn 8-Devak

Devak: I will not lose to you!

Masked Boy: All of you Dark Signers are dependent on your Earthbound Monsters. You could summon one but it would only last one turn since you have no field spell. Why do you think my Dark Signer Counterpart doesn't have one?

Devak: Silence! My turn! By not using my Normal Draw, I can special summon Flame Tiger from my Graveyard in DEF Mode! I will also summon another Flame Tiger. You might have a summoning technique besides Syncro Summoning but so do I! I Overlay my two Level 4 Flame Tigers to build the Overlay Network! I XYZ Summon! Diamond Dire Wolf!

Diamond Dire Wolf: Rank 4- 2000 ATK/ 1200 DEF

Masked Boy: How did you learn how to XYZ Summon?

Devak: You have something do with that. Even though the Dimensions separated, some summoning techniques carried over. Your Dark Signer Counterpart taught us since he has one in his deck.

Masked Boy: Nice XYZ Summon but it won't work! Trap card, open: Black Horn of Heaven! When you Special Summon exactly one monster, I can negate its summoning!

Devak: What?

Masked Boy: Nice try. I carry this card everywhere.

Devak: I'll activate my own trap! Call of the Haunted! This brings Flame Tiger from the Graveyard! I end my turn.

Turn 9-Masked Boy

Masked Boy-8000 LP/Devak-4100 LP

Masked Boy: End of the line. My turn. Draw. From my hand I activate a spell: Twin Twisters! By sending a card to the Graveyard I can destroy your two spell cards. That means your Tiger is leaving as well!

Devak: No!

[The rest of the group arrive just in time to see the end of the duel]

JP (Syncro): I guess we had nothing to worry about. He is the best duelist out us all.

Luna: That's the man who has my Ancient Fairy Dragon.

Yugo: Didn't he say that he had a score to settle with each of them? Why is he dueling Devak?

Luna: It's because he has my Ancient Fairy Dragon! JP (Original), is trying to get it back!

Rin: He really does protect the ones he cares about.

Masked Boy: Battle. Clear Wing, attack him directly! Spinstorm Sky Strike!

Devak: Ahh!

Devak-4100 LP - - - 1600 LP

Masked Boy: Odd Eyes, end this duel! Spiral Flame Strike!

Devak: Ahh!

[As the duel ends, Devak disappears. Ancient Fairy Dragon is left on the ground. The Masked Boy picks her up]

Ancient Fairy Dragon: Thank you, JP (Original), for rescuing me.

Masked Boy: I couldn't let Luna get hurt. It's why I did it. Now I'm going to return you to her.

[The Masked Boy walks over to Luna and hands her Ancient Fairy Dragon]

Luna: Thank you, JP!

[Luna attempts to wrap her arms around the Masked Boy and kiss him but he moves away before she can]

Luna: JP (Original), what's wrong?

[The Masked Boy doesn't answer and walks away. He then teleports away]

Jack: No! He got away again!

Crow: Who is he dueling next?

JP (Syncro): I don't know but we better find a Dark Signer before he does.

[The group rides away to find the Masked Boy. Meanwhile, Misty and Carly approach JP (Dark Signer)]

Misty: Devak was defeated by your original counterpart.

JP (Dark Signer): Devak disobeyed me. My counterpart is mine. I have no doubt Kalin will go after him as well. Kailin will fail. No one can beat my counterpart. I'm the only one who has a chance. No one else goes after him! Is that clear?

Misty/Carly: Yes, my husband.

[Carly and Misty walk away and whisper to each other]

Carly: I'm going after his Original.

Misty: Why? You heard what our husband said.

Carly: I have no quarrel with any of the Dark Signers except for maybe Akiza and Luna. They are the only ones who stand in the way of our love.

Misty: If you lose then there goes your chance for love.

Carly: Quit lying to me. You have a grudge against him. He was part of the Arcadia Movement. You could get answers from him.

Misty: Am I that obvious?

Carly: Yes. Now. Let's find him and finish him. (Thoughts) I have regrets of becoming a Dark Signer. The Dark Signer Counterpart maybe a part of JP but I want the Original. I don't want some knock off. I know Misty feels the same even though she won't admit. If he does defeat me, I know he'll save me in the end.
