Nigeria,
A country that once was.
She was her ecstasy and desolation.
Like life, itself.
She was born out of pure love and burning passion.
After being enslaved by the colonial masters.
She gained her freedom in 1960.
A libra of balance,
On first October,
She stood in liberty,
For her new victory.

Nigeria,
A country that once was.
The most populous black nation on planet Earth.
A woman with over 2 million smiles that unrivalled cultural magnificence.
Nigeria,
The home to Africa's oldest dye pit in Kofar Mata, Kano.
An origin of aboundance where colours glow.

Nigeria,
A country that once was.
House to Africa's first Nobel laureate.
The world's largest diversity in butterflies,
Holding two spectacular UNESCO world's heritage sites.

Nigeria,
A country that once was.
In her heart, veins river Niger and Benue.
Two magical waters that meets yet, not together.
A beauty fuelling artistic expression through arts.
Beneath her feet is unique Nigerian spirit.

Nigeria,
A county that once was.
The economic heartbeat of Africa.
In her hands,
She holds a flag that symbolizes her natural wealth and peace.
On her shoulders,
Is the coat of arms.
Representing dignity, fertile soil, strength and natural flower.
Where is our pride, justice and freedom?
Where is her one, unity and peace?
Like life itself,
When shall we give her what she deserves?
