FRANKENSTEIN
19 | We Are Family

Third Person

"WE'RE going to do Thanksgiving a bit different this year, children. We are all going to say one thing we're thankful for." The same mother from the previous vision spoke out.

"Why?" A pretty red-haired teenager spoke.

The pretty teen looked to be around the age of fifteen or sixteen. Her jade green eyes looked around bored, taking in the food set up around the table. It wasn't only her sitting at the table, another five people also sat around. A preteen boy, from the previous swimming hole scene, sat across from her. On the boy's right was a man, who was known as the father. The mother of them all sat next to the teen girl on her left, and across from the mother was another teenage girl who looked to be the age of seventeen.

This teen girl was the apparent oldest of all the children. Her face was morphed into a happy grin as she overlooked the entire family. In some way's she looked similar to Frankie, not identical - but similar. In fact, everyone at the table shared slightly similar features to Frankie.

The father, with his smile, and eye shape. The mother with her high-cheekbones, and the same nose. The oldest girl with her flaming red hair, and cupids bow lips. The second oldest girl, with her own red-hair, and green eyes. The young boy with his pair of green eyes, and grin. Finally, we have the youngest girl, the eleven-year-old. Everything about this girl was Frankie's, just a younger version. From the hair to the eyes, all the way down to how she smiled, it was all Frankie's. Though it was apparent that this was a family, and that the four children were the man and woman's offspring.

"Because it's a good thing to do." The mother smiled at her second oldest child.

"Yeah, Hadlee. It's a good thing to do." The preteen boy gave his older sister a sarcastic smile.

Hadlee simply glared at her brother in reply. "Can't we at least have our phones back?" She complained to her mother.

"No, I already said that this family is taking a break from electronics for the day." The mother announced, making Hadlee huff and fall back into her seat dramatically.

"Oh quit being dramatic, Hadlee. You can handle being away from your phone for a day." The seventeen-year-old rolled her eyes at her younger sister.

"I'm sorry we can't all be Jesus's offspring alike to yourself, Donica." Hadlee flung her arms in the air.

Donica simply hummed in reply bringing her hands in a prayer ready for her family to bless the food. The rest of the family followed suit.

"I thank you for this day, and the food we're about to eat. Thank you for the wealth you have provided us, and the luck you have shared. We thank you Lord and wish you to bless upon thy souls. In Jesus name, amen." The mother spoke, listening to everyone else repeat amen.

"Actually it's me who brought this wealth upon us." The father; Anthony said snidely earning a glare in return.

"Anthony." The mother said in a warning tone.

"Michelle." He mocked with a flirtatious smile.

Michelle, the mother unable to keep her laughter at bay giggled at her husband.

"Aw, come on guys! I'm trying to eat here." The preteen complained, covering his eyes while placing a piece of turkey in his mouth.

"Hey! Maverick, we're saying what we're thankful for, remember?" Michelle reprimanded her son, in a scolding voice.

"Oh! I'll go first!" Donica; the oldest said excitedly. "I'm thankful that I got the honor of having such an amazing family." She smiled at everyone, earning an 'aww' in reply.

"That was sweet, Donica. Thank you, I'll go next. I'm thankful that all of my children turned out to be such wonderful people." Michelle smiled at her children.

"What am I? Chopped liver?" Anthony asked rhetorically folding his arms over his chest.

Michelle simply scoffed in reply looking playfully over to her husband. "And I'm thankful that I got to fall in love with such an amazing man." She added.

Anthony simply smirked cockily before going. "I'm thankful that I ran into my beautiful wife at the meeting all those years ago, and I'm so happy that she blessed me with such an amazing family." He smiled genuinely.

His wife gave a weary smile before looking to her second oldest daughter. "I'm thankful that Luke Evans, was brought into this world just so I could solely look at him-" Hadlee was cut off by her mother.

"Hadlee!" She yelled.

"Kidding!" She held her hands up innocently. "Not really," She whispered before continuing. "I'm thankful that we all get to spend so much time together, and act as a family should." She smiled. "Your turn, brat." She turned to her younger brother.

"Thank so much for permission to go, Hadlee-the-hoe." He said earning gasps from around the table, but an inconspicuous snicker from his father.

"Maverick Carson, how dare you-" Maverick cut off his mother's yell by standing on the chair.

"I'm thankful for Halo, which came out recently. I'm thankful for dad buying me the Xbox, and-" He was cut off by his father.

"That's enough, son." He said quickly pulling his son from a standing position and back to sitting on the chair. "I thought we agreed not to mention that." He whispered fiercely to his son, earning a shrug in reply.

"You bought him, the Xbox and didn't tell me about it!" Michelle yelled at her husband, outraged.

"I was going to tell you, I just didn't have enough time! I only bought it for him recently." Anthony said lamely trying to defend himself.

Before Michelle could scream at him, Donica cut her off. "Jolene hasn't gone yet!" She cried motioning to her youngest sibling desperate to keep the peace.

Jolene's luminescent green eyes flickered to her oldest sister, and she gave her a bright smile.

"You're right, we'll talk about this later Anthony," Michelle growled at her husband before turning to her daughter. "Jolene, go ahead sweetie." She smiled at her last daughter.

"Well, I'm thankful that our family loves each other so much." The auburn-haired little girl, who was now known as Jolene said.

"Aww, I'm thankful we love each other so much too honey." She looked to her family with a smile. "Dig in."

Immediately everyone began eating off their plate, eager to taste the feast that Thanksgiving provided. Maverick more than anyone began eating at fast rates earning a cheer from his father, and noises of disgust from Hadlee.

Jolene watched her big-brother eat like it was his last, meal and her sister's negative reaction to it. Jolene loved her family more than anything and swore to always stick by their side. Jolene's attention was soon caught by a transparent figure in the doorway. Rosette stood with a smile watching the youngest girl in the room.

"When's uncle Patrick going to get here?" Maverick questioned his father taking a break from eating, only earning a shrug in reply.
