The Poet and The Muse

there are always two sides to things like this
one: the muse
the other: the poet
the muse falls in love with the poet's words
the poet falls in love with the muse
and I think it's too much to hope for
to be both

I was the poet
he didn't know he was the muse
and it ended as these things always do:
with the poet still writing
but the muse no longer reading
