Jace has a strong title for his good looks. He is described as having fine, straight, golden blonde hair, long eyelashes, and eyes that look gold in the light, due to the magical experiments performed on him and the angel blood in his veins. He has a lean, slim muscular build and is about 5'11" in height. His face is often described as being beautiful, sexy, gorgeous and angular and some refer to him as beautiful and leonine, with a narrow mouth. Like all other Shadowhunters, he is covered in thin, red scars from years of applying various magical runes with a stele for battle and healing purposes, as well as permanent runes that look like tattoos. The only flaw in his face, is the slight chip in his incisor teeth. Jace is also noted to be left-handed. He has a star-shaped birthmark on his left shoulder.

Jace had always been independent and somehow self-possessed, having been taught not to betray himself to emotions as a child. Jace has a sharp, defensive wit, an acidic temperament, and a very sarcastic attitude when he chooses. Giving the impression of holding most people in disdain, Jace is seen as extremely arrogant, self-centered, and overconfident, believing himself to be "the best Shadowhunter to ever live" and above others. True enough, Jace is superior in battle, something Jace has been training for since he was young and had grown to love over the years. He even exhibits sadistic tendencies, at certain times.
Despite this, Jace in fact has a strong moral core. He is dutiful and just, willing to make the right decisions, and sacrifices if it comes down to it. Though he can be, at times, vindictive, he is cruel only to protect those he loves.
His conceited exterior hides a profound inner hatred.
Jace also shares the snobbish attitude toward mundanes and Downworlders, though he lacked their extremist tendencies. Beneath Jace's flippant exterior lies a soul in constant torment, filled with a deep-seated rage that he keeps in check most of the time and channels into fighting and slaying demons and also, sometimes, his sarcastic and nasty remarks. Jace relaxes and calms his nerves by getting into fights, with some even noting that fighting to Jace is "what sex is to normal people."
Aware of his own beauty, Jace was also once quite chivalrous, and quite flirty, towards women. His charisma, good looks, and charm have made him quite the ladies' man. However, taught that "to love is to destroy" at an early age, Jace kept everyone, except the Lightwoods, at arm's length, never forming emotional attachments for more than a brief amount of time, if at all.

Nephilim physiology: Being Nephilim, Jace possesses a variety of enhanced physical and mental abilities granted to him by the angel blood. This includes enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, and coordination, which continue to improve over time and practice.

The Sight: As a Shadowhunter, Jace is naturally and easily able to see through most magical illusions and layers of glamour over reality.

Runic magic: Due to the angel blood in their veins, all Shadowhunters are able to apply runes on their skin without any real danger. These Marks, in turn, give varied effects that serve to benefit the wearer.

Use of heavenly weapons: As a Shadowhunter, Jace is also able to perform tasks unique to their species, such as the ability to use and call on the power of angels for their seraph blades, as well as to handle any heavenly weapons or objects with effect, which would normally not work for other species.

Angelic blood empowerment: While all Shadowhunters have the angel blood in them, the fact that he has even more contributes to his superiority in certain fields and other enhanced aspects beyond the normal Shadowhunter parameters.

Parabatai bond: Due to his parabatai bond with Alec Lightwood, Jace is able to call on more strength in battle. The runes drawn on him by Alec also give a considerably stronger effect.

Expert hand-to-hand combatant: Jace is highly skilled in armed and unarmed combat.

Expert swordsman: Jace is highly skilled and proficient in swordsmanship.

Stele - Steles are the tools used by Shadowhunters to draw runes onto their skin, weapons, and other materials.

Seraph Blade - Seraph blades are the primary weapons of the Shadowhunters. They are made of adamas and crafted by the Iron Sisters. They call upon the power of angels' names to access the power of the blades.

Witchlight - Witchlight is a light, flat, smooth gray stone that emits light, giving off a pure white glow when held by Shadowhunters. All Shadowhunters carry witchlight stones to remind them that light can be found even among the darkest shadows, and also to supply them with actual light when they are literally among dark shadows.

Life was normal.
Simple.
That's how is was, right?
And you were just a girl, trying to get into art school.
Or, so you thought.

What happens when your whole life, becomes one huge lie?

The world of the mortals and supernaturals blend into one, and you're caught in the middle.
Your mother is ripped from your hands, and it's up to you to save her, with the help of one man.

Will you accept the world you're thrown into, and follow after the mysterious male who promises to save your mother?
Or crack under the pressure, and have your world fall to pieces?

"You can see me?"
"A thank you would be appreciated."

You were just a young girl, living with your single mother, Joslyn.

And the two of you were close, so much closer than normal mothers and daughters.
She was your best friend, more like it.
And you really did love her, more than anything.

Joslyn was all that you had. You had no other family, no cousins or aunts, it was just the two of you.

You supposed that was the reason the two of you were so close.

You had each other.
Nobody else.

Today was a big day for you.
It was your eighteenth birthday.
The day you applied for art school.

You headed off to the college with your drawings and sketchbook in hand, your nerves off the charts.

What if you weren't good enough?
What if you didn't make it in?

But your worries were soon diminished as your results came back, a letter that was handed off to you, saying that you made it in.

You had finally done it, made it into the college of your dreams, and so began what you thought was the most exciting day of your life.

You came home to tell your mother the news, and she was thrilled, of course.

It wasn't long before she handed you a box, a gift for your birthday.

Inside was a small, metal object with a crystal on the tip of it. Your mother said it was a family heirloom.

And then she gave you a necklace, and put it on you with a small smile. It was a silver again with a purple crystal connected to it, and it was beautiful.

But something was off.

Joslyn seemed nervous, a bit hesitant.
"Y/n, can we talk? You're eighteen now, there's some things we need to discuss," she asked softly as she gently took your hand, and you raised a brow before you shook your head.

You had to get to your friend's gig for his band, and you only had so long to get there.
"Can we talk tomorrow, Mom? I'll be eighteen tomorrow, this won't be the only day I'll be this age. I need to get to Simon's gig, he's counting on me to be there," you said with a small smile, gently setting the box back down on the table with the heirloom inside.

Your mother bit her lip reluctantly before she gave a nod. "Alright, get going. But promise me we'll talk tomorrow morning," she murmured, gently pressing a kiss to the top of your head after you promised her, before you went off.

It didn't take you long to get to your friend Simon's gig, and you smiled as you watched him play his guitar and sing.

Before you knew it, night had fallen.

You were standing outside next to Simon outside of his van, close to one of the local night clubs.
You smiled as you talked with Simon, before you felt someone bump into your shoulder and you stumbled slightly, looking up to see a blonde male walking away from you.

"Hey!" You called, biting your lip as you watched the male turn around, almost a bit taken away by his handsome appearance as he looks at you in confusion.

"The least you can say is excuse me," you huffed as you crossed your arms over your chest.

The blonde male was silent for a moment, almost seeming baffled as he took a step towards you. "You can you see me?" He asked as he looked down at you.

You raised a brow and chuckled lightly. "Yea, you're kind of hard to miss," you replied, shaking your head.

The male bit his lip as he seemed to be examining you. "How do you have the sight?" He asked as he took another step closer to you.

You gave a confused look. This guy wasn't making any sense. "The what?" You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.

The male gave an annoyed huff before he shook his head. "Whatever, forget it," he muttered before he turned and walked off back towards the club.

You gave an exhasperated sigh before you turned back to Simon and pointed in the direction the male went. "Could you believe him?" You asked.

Simon gave you a strange look and shook his head. "Clary, who were you talking to?" He asked, looking very concerned.

You gave a confused look back, before you spoke. "Didn't you see him? Tall male, blonde, covered in strange tattoos?" You asked.

Simon shook his head slowly, seeming to be very unnerved. "Clary, you were talking to nobody, to thin air. Are you okay? Are you on anything?" He asked.

You froze lightly at his words before you looked back in the direction of the male. "I'll be right back," you said to Simon before you jogged off, hearing your friend call behind you before you ran into the club.

Your eyes looked around, scanning the rooms before you spotted the blonde male, walking after a group of people.

Your stubbornness kicked in, and you went after him, seeing him disappear behind a door of curtains. You jogged over, weaving through people, before you walked through the curtains, your gaze filling with a sudden horror.

The blonde male gave a yell as he plunged one of the glowing swords he was holding into the body of one of the people, who let out an inhuman screech before he disintegrated.

The other three people suddenly turned into what looked like horrifying monsters, their skin turning black and their teeth going crooked and sharp.

You let out a scream as one of the monsters whacked the blonde male across the face, which made him lose grip of one of the swords and it slid over to you.

The sword stopped glowing as soon as he let go of it, and you shivered before you hesitantly picked it back up, making the sword illuminate once again with a strange glow.

You were so confused that you didn't notice one of the monsters had come after you, and you looked up before you cried out and put the sword in front of you, plunging the blade into the monster's chest, watching in horror as the monster became nothing more than dust.

You looked up to see the blonde male move to kill the other monsters, and you felt tears streaming down your face as you dropped the blade and turned, running out of the room as you ignored the screeching noises behind you.

You pushed past people, not knowing how they could act so normal with all that horrid screeching.

By the time you pushed yourself out of the club, it was pouring rain. You gave a soft sob before you began running through the rain, back towards your house.

As you ran, the purple crystal on your necklace suddenly pulsed with color, and an image clouded your vision, of your mother being ripped from your hands.

Your eyes widened, you needed to find your mother.

You rushed back to your house and threw the door open, horror filling your gaze at the sight.

The house was in ruins, broken pots and glass everywhere.

You felt numb as you stumbled and fell to your knees, letting out a cry as you wrapped your arms around yourself.

What was going on, what was happening?
Who was that guy?
What were those monsterous things?

You were only snapped out of your head when you heard your mother's voice, calling your name from upstairs.

Your eyes widened and you got up, not caring that you were soaked from the rain as you ran up the stairs, seeing Joslyn standing in the middle of the room with wide eyes.

"Mom!" You exclaimed, running to her and throwing your arms around her tightly as you began to sob in her arms.

Joslyn wrapped her arms tightly around you, giving a shakey breath. "Thank goodness you're okay-" she began, before a rippling sound swept through the room with a bright light.

You closed your eyes for a moment at the light before you opened them, shocked as you saw something that looked like a portal in the room, a strong wind suddenly coming up.

Joslyn looked panicked as she saw the portal, before she looked to you and grabbed your hands. "Y/n, listen to me, you have to be strong, okay? He's coming for me, there's no time," she exclaimed.

"Who? Who's coming for you? Mom!" You cried, so lost and confused.

"Find me, y/n, you have to find me. You're the only one that can do it!" Joslyn yelled over the howling wind.

You didn't even have a chance to respond before your mother was ripped from your hands, and flung into the portal by the wind. The portal disappeared immeadiantly, and your eyes were wide before you let out a scream of agony, crumpling down to your knees as you sobbed.

You didn't know how long you stayed like that, it almost seemed like forever before you heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

You looked up, your eyes wide as you saw your mother's friend walking over to you. You were about to utter the woman's name before the woman let out a screech and her face contorted into that of a monster.

You screamed in horror and got up, before the monster threw you against the wall and tried to bite at you. You cried out as it bit you, before you heard a yell and a glowing blade went through the monster.

You looked down at the blade and shivered, before the monster fell into ash. You looked up at the one who had saved you, the male with the blonde hair and tattoos.

The male narrowed his eyes and put his blade away, before he looked at the wound on your shoulder from where you were bitten.

You were about to say something, before your eyes suddenly rolled back, and the world went black, the last thing you felt being protective arms wrapping around your falling body.

You soon let out a groan as you began to wake up, your eyes fluttering open. You were met with an unfamiliar room, and you sat up with a huff as you looked around, then looked down at your wrist. There was a dull, red mark on your wrist that looked like a tattoo, which hadn't been there before.

Your head snapped over to the door and you tensed slightly as you saw the blonde male that had saved you walk into the room, raising a brow. "I almost half expected you to not wake up," he chuckled as he walked over to the bed you laid on.

"Who are you? Why am I here?" you asked suddenly as you sat up more.

The male gave a small chuckle and tilted his head to the side as he looked down at you, before he spoke. "A thank you would be appreciated."

You looked at the male, slightly baffled.
What do you do?
