KACE'S POINT OF VIEW

I breath out as I run my hands through my hair for the millionth time. My nerves were everywhere. I was waiting for Chesa to arriving. Saying I was nervous was an understatement. I finally get to go on the date of the girl I like. My mind drifts to thinking of Chesa. A beautiful intelligent fun girl that likes me? A struggling nerd with a bold protective exterior because of his poor home life. Though I may say bold stuff I'm defiantly not as brave as I seem. But Chesa? Strong in mind and spirit. I still can't believe she kissed me first. I sometimes don't know where she gets it from.

I check my surroundings for the millionth time looking for her. I look over all the people and carinval rides, don't even stop to see the beautiful ocean sloshing beyond the pier. When I don't see her I impatiently lean against the pier beem. I knew the only reason I was waiting was my own fault. Coming an hour before your scheduled date time is a bit early. But hey, I wanted to make sure I knew what was good or not for carnival rides.... and maybe I was excited.

As people walk past I fidget in my nervous energy. People walk past me in a blur. I see a girl around me age catch my exploring eyes and smile in my direction. I give a quick smile to be nice but then drop my face back into focusing mode not wanting to give her more than just a friend vibe. But apparently that wasn't the case as she started to come over to me. I shifted uncomfortably.

She comes over and smiles, "You look a little lost. You need any help?"

I clear my throat, "No thank you. Waiting for someone. Well, my date." I thought I would put that out there just in case she had other than friendly terms in mind.

"Oh" She answered looking down at the basket of flowers she was hold that I didn't even notice until now, "Would you like to buy a rose for her?"

I opened my mouth to refuse but then rethought it. I should get Chesa a rose, "That would be great thanks."

"Which color?" She held up the basket.

I took a look and smiled knowing what would be perfect, "White please."

She gives me the rose as I give her the money. I was actually happy this girl came up to me because now I have something perfect for Chesa.

She looks at me before she walks off, "She's a lucky girl."

I smile down at the rose and say to myself, No I'm the lucky one.

I wait another few minutes and for the millionth time I look down the pier but this time the view is better than ever. I see Chesa in dress, the intensity of the red meshing perfectly with her soft pale skin and her auburn hair curled around her beautiful face, her red lips and blue eyes being amplified with her pale face that was lightly dusted in makeup. Her striking blue eyes search around until they find what they are looking for. Once her eyes land I me her face lights up and she waves. I smile back and wave. Now my heart feeling like a machine gun shooting a thousand bullets a second. She clutches her, well, clutch and makes her way over to me. Every sound fades and all I focus is on her coming my way. The clang of her heels as every time they hit the wood pier as she gets closer. Finally she is standing in front of me and I was totally really and not prepared at the same time.

"Hi." She almost whispers out from those perfectly red lips.

"Hi." I mimic her volume.

She looks down at the rose and suddenly I'm pulled from my trans. I gesture it towards her.

"For my ice queen."

She smiles at it and takes it, "Thank you."

I almost shrug as to make as if it's no big deal. I was glad I got it for her to see how her eyes lit up when I gave it to her.

"Were you waiting long?" She asked me looking a little worried.

"Not long." I wanted to sent her at ease. Plus it might be freaky I was here an hour before our date, "Shall we check out the carnival?" I gesture for us to walk down the pier to the beach where the carnival was. She nodded and she fell in step beside me.

I clear my throat and decided to start the conversation, "So there are some fun games I thought we could try and this crazy fire eating guy you have to see! Then I thought we'd get something to eat, you know typical carnival food. I mean if you can eat that with your skating diet. Look like they had good funnel cakes. And we end the night with a Farris wheel ride watching the sunset."

I look at her explecticatley waiting for her thoughts.

"Wow you really thought this through. Sounds fun!" She smiles over at me which makes me smile, "And I can defiantly take a break from my diet. I mean what my coach and my parents won't know won't hurt them. I defiantly wanna try a funnel cake. I've heard they are good."

I look over at her shocked, "You have never had a funnel cake?!"

She shrugs and looks around as we are coming up to the carnival, "I never been to a carnival either. If you haven't notice my parents aren't the carnival type."

"Well I'm glad I get to experience your first carnival with you."

She looks at me a smiles, "Me too."

We are lost in each other until someone interrupts us, "Would you and the lady like to play?"

I realized we reached our destination of the games as we are standing in front of a games stand.

"Shall we?" I ask Chesa. She nods.
