6:35AM TUESDAY 3 DAYS TILL THE WORLD ENDS

It was cold when I awoke. It might have been refreshing if I hadn't been wearing a tank top and shorts that might have been outlawed at one point in time.

"God, It'd freezing!" I said to myself. There was a little amount of light coming from the corner of the room. A window with the curtains drawn. I was laying on a bed that smelled refreshingly like lemons. Where was I again?

I sat up and rubbed some heat into arms and legs. Suddenly in a flood like motion, everything came back to me. The announcement, Dad, the fire. I moaned. The restaurant. My head hurt but not enough to call it true pain.

I looked at my hands. I had really shot fired with them. I had really burned all those people, probably killed someone. I had really made myself Virginia's second biggest problem. Hopefully the world ending might be enough to make them not care about me.

I wonder....I wonder if I could create another one? Maybe with a little more control and a lot less panic? No. Too dangerous. I could kill myself and burn down the city or something stupid like that. Part of me was saying 'Does it matter? we're all going to die in 65 hours anyway.'

I felt around for a night stand or a lamp. It happened to be a touch sensitive lamp and the sudden light blinded me for a second. As my eyes adjusted light had reveled I was in a hotel-like room. There was a big 60 inch TV on top of a furnished oak dresser and a mini fridge and microwave standing beside it. A small note was tapped to the TV. I wished I had a jacket. I swear the temperature went down five degrees since I woke up.

I peeled the note of the screen. It was a slip of paper from those pads they have on the desks when you walk in. It said Chloe in cursive on the front. I opened it.

Hi welcome to the End of the World Inn and restaurant. Breakfast ends at 10. Come down when your ready to talk. ~Wendy

Despite everything i couldn't help but to smile at this Wendy girl's humor. Wendy...that name seemed familiar. Was it the girl who saved me from the mob? I swear on my life I've never seen her before; why did she seem familiar then?

I noticed I could see my breath in the air. Yeah the temperature was dropping. Might as well join this Wendy for breakfast, because if not I might freeze to death instead. Cheerful.

I sighed and stepped into the hall. It was slightly warmer in here. The halls were plain and bare. but that didn't stop me from nearly being run over by a couple of twins racing down the hall tossing a roll of toilet paper back and forth between them.

"Sorry!" One yelled, the girl. The boy just laughed. "Stairs are that way!" She nodded to the way they came.

I figured that was normal. I walked down the hall hesitantly, but sure enough the stairs were at the end. I descended down them. At the bottom was a teenager sitting at the receptionist desk. She barely gave me a glance. "Wendy's in the kitchen. Go right on in." She said before going back to her detailed drawing of Wolverine on the sign-in book.

I headed to the breakfast area, which was easily found by the noise of early-bird families talking, arguing, and eating. I avoided being run over again, this time by a waiter wearing roller-skates. He was zipping around with speed, skill and balance. He winked at me as he nearly crashed into me again. I hurried to the kitchen. No one gave me a second glance.

The girl was sitting at a wooden table sipping coffee and doing a crossword. There was a boy flipping pancakes, making eggs and grilling bacon at the same time. "Van" The girl asked "Whats the dog from Garfield?"

"Um...Odie?" he said. Then I realized he was wearing a long sleeve turtle neck, pants and gloves as he did everything.

"Okay how about an eight letter, out fielders call?" She asked

"'I've got it!'" I said without thinking. Both of them looked at me surprised.

"Oh, Hey! sorry I didn't hear you come in." She said welcoming me to sit down with her. "You should have said something. Oops, where are my manners? I'm Wendy and this is Van."

"Hi..." I said feeling really awkward. The aroma of food made me realize just how hungry I was.

"So fire?" Wendy asked.

"Yep." I said thinking about how many panacakes I could fit in my mouth at one time. "Pretty cool right?"

"Not really, Chris can create ice." Van said turning. At that moment a plate holding a pile of bacon decided to take a suicidal jump. Wendy made a frantic lunging move and the plate stopped in mid-air. I watched it as it slowly rose back to the counter and all the bacon piled back on top of it. I raised an eyebrow at Wendy. She gave me a shy smile.

"Yeah i forgot to metion: everybody just calls me Windy." She said
