Hey, Autumn! Come check this out!" My friend Jack Will called to me from across the hall. I ran over to the blond haired boy and slowed to a walk a few feet from him. "What is it, Jack?" I asked. He was crouched on the ground, his backpack laying in front of him. "Look." Jack ordered and grabbed his backpack, pushing it to me. I thought I heard a faint mew from inside the bag. I opened it and saw a small brown tabby kitten look up at me.
"Oh my gosh!" I gasped. "A kitten! Where....? How...?" I was cut of by a hiss from my friend. "Shh. We can't let anyone know." He said. "I get that. Where did you find it?" I asked. "Him." Jack corrected me. "And I found him on the street. Poor kitten almost got ran over." Jack said, scratching behind the ear of the brown bundle of fur. "I thought you might want him." Jack said. "Would I! I love cats." I cheered. But how will I keep him? I asked myself.
