(After hearing Karin's explanation about Orochimaru's beef with Hiruzen, Naruto and his team keep going after Sasuke, but Shikamaru decides to stay behind as he distracts several Sound Ninjas, who are about to kill him, but Asuma saves him. Meanwhile, Sasuke managed to outsmart Temari. Karin suddenly senses another chakra.)

Karin: Another one is after Sasuke... I don't know if it's a friend or foe... but the chakra isn't human...

(Cut to Konoha, Hiruzen had a fight against Orochimaru, who used the Edo Tensei to "revive" Hashirama and Tobirama as he fought the three at once until he decided to use a forbidden technique.)

Hiruzen: Sealing Jutsu! Reaper Death Seal!

(Back to Sasuke, he finally caught up to Kankuro, but Temari managed to get back, and is ordered to carry Gaara away while he prepared to fight Sasuke, but then Shino comes in, and fights him instead, giving Sasuke an opportunity to resume his chase after Gaara.)

(Back to Naruto's group, Karin notices something.)

Karin: Sasuke is still chasing after Gaara, but there are two chakras in the way. Probably about to fight.

Naruto: So we must either stop the fight or go after Sasuke.

Kin: But how are we going to prevent ourselves from getting caught in a crossfire.

Naruto: I guess we can try to improvise an alternate path...

(Naruto senses Sasuke's chakra at a big distance, and finally points at a direction.)

Naruto: We should go to the right.

(Everyone nods as they go after Sasuke while Shino starts fighting Kankuro.)

(Meanwhile, Gaara and Temari stop as the former shoves the latter aside before seeing Sasuke.)

Sasuke: I have no idea about what your Sand Village is planning, but I'll stop your plan, whatever it is.

(Suddenly Gaara starts feeling pain as his voice gets altered.)

Gaara: Only by killing you, I can know what life is.

(Sasuke then remembers the moment Gaara interrupted his training.)

Gaara: You... you're MY... (groans) YOU ARE MY PREY!

(Something monstrous manifests within Gaara as he yells in anger and agony. Suddenly, his monster half finally starts manifesting.)

Gaara: Now... let me feel it!

(Sasuke gasps as he barely dodges an attack from Gaara, which destroys several trees. He then hides in a tree as he feels pain in his left shoulder. He then dodges another attack.)

Sasuke: (in mind) Is it human?

Gaara: (stern) Why hide, Sasuke Uchiha? (smirks) Do I frighten you?

(Temari is seen shaking in fear as well.)

Gaara: Are you shocked by my true form? Come out, come out, Sasuke Uchiha! (smirks) I LIVE TO KILL! AND YOU ARE MY PREY!
