Day 3
We're back at the bench because, why not? It's peaceful here. The girl from yesterday is here, but she's on a swing chair nearby which hangs from a tree. When we sit, she notices us and waves. I look over at Kayla, who is waving back. I nod and rest my back on the bench, enjoying the feeling of the sun on my face.
I'm sick of school, but I have to keep going. I'm a final-year law student at Trinity College Dublin, and it has not been easy. I have to raise money for the future. Before my parents died, they saved up a lot of money for Kayla and I's schooling, and Mam, the only daughter of her parents, who were quite rich, got their money and house after they died. She saved up the money and shared it with Kayla and me. I'm surprised they wrote their will already, but my parents were always one step ahead in everything they did; it was and will always be one thing I respect about them. The money would be enough for us for a long time, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't work. I try to add up to the money by working at the bar; sometimes it's okay, but I barely have friends, unless you're counting that one customer who always gets drunk and says "Hi" to me every second. I don't have time to do anything for myself except on days Kayla insists on going out, which is usually on weekends, but we come here every day now (her call).

I want to get an actual job and work for a good firm, so I applied to five firms, hoping to start at least one.
I watch Kayla; she's eating chips quietly beside me, but she's watching the girl on the swing bench. I'm curious as to why she's watching her; she looks so focused, like she's trying to figure her out. I look at the girl; she's sitting cross-legged on the bench, a pillow on her legs as she reads. I wonder the kind of person she is. It seems like she can feel us watching her because she suddenly looks up and stares at me before smiling at Kayla. I look over at Kayla, who is smiling back. She waves Kayla over to her side. I'm nodding my head before Kayla can ask for permission because Kayla has never been so eager to meet someone before. I'll be more than happy to encourage her to make friends, and I'm in no way suspicious of the girl, whom, by the way, I've only seen for two days and I don't even know her name. I watch them talk. Kayla looks more alive than usual.

I'm getting sorry that I have to call her away from her new friend so I can go to work. She smiles at her new friend, and I nod at the girl (whose name I still don't know). Kayla reluctantly takes my hand, and we leave.

"Kayla?"
"Hm?"
"What's her name?"
"Micaela" I can hear the lightness in her voice as she answers. Micaela is bringing my sister back.
"Do you like her?" I have to ask, although it is more than evident that she does.
"Very much, and she's really pretty too. She talked about school and ..."

I'm zoning out now; as long as Kayla's happy, I'm happy.

▣▣▣

I apologise if this is too short. I have to lay out time to write these because I go to school and take on other activities. Besides, I'm the kind of person who gets tired easily.

But have no worries, this story shall march on to the battlefield and defeat the army of fatigue.
