Ivypool and Hawkfrost have been seeing each other as mates for a few moons at this point in time.

Ivypool pelted through the Place Of No Stars, and in her excitement, she tripped on a bramble. Pain shot up her leg, and her eyes filled with tears. This feels like when I twisted my paw! But Hawkfrost wasn't here. If anyone found her, they would realize she was an easy kill, and they would kill her for entertainment. Suddenly a whiff of scent whisped by. Brokenstar! Ivypool trembled. Brokenstar was the worst cat of all! If he found her, she would die in a heartbeat. Brokenstar emerged from the underbrush.
"Ivypool," He purred maliciously. "What a lovely suprise. Were you running so fast, you tripped?" He began circling her. "You must be so eager to get training,"
Ivypool stood up, trying to show she wasn't hurt. "I just stumbled a bit. I will continue on my way now," she mewed bravely. Suddenly, Ivypool's paws were taken out from under her. Brokenstar attacked, out to kill her. Ivypool clawed and bit, but with an injured paw, and Brokenstar being stronger, she was outmatched. Eventually, Brokenstar had her pinned down, and was about to give her the killing blow, when a dark tabby sprang out of the bushes. The tom clawed at the former Shadowclan leader, and snapped at his throat.
"Hawkfrost!" Brokenstar snarled. "Why are you betraying us?"
"Because you are killing Ivypool!" "Shes a worthless she-cat! I'm doing the Dark Forest a favor!"
Hawkfrost was stuck. If he sided with Brokenstar, Ivypool, his love, was dead. But if he said he loved Ivypool, they were both dead cats. Maybe I can heal her with my magic, and bring her back to life. But Hawkfrost knew he could never let her die. He loved her too much. Even more than the power he had always wanted. Even more than being leader, or ruling all the clans. He would give his life to be with her, no matter what. He would give his life to let her live. He would even give his life knowing he died for loving her.
"You can't kill her because... because I lo-lo-lo"
"SPIT IT OUT HAWKFROST!" Brokenstar yowled. He was impatient. He wanted to kill.
Hawkfrost couldn't hold it in any longer;
"BECAUSE I LOVE IVYPOOL.l! I LOVE HER MORE THAN POWER, OR LEADERSHIP, OR KILLING. I HATE KILLING ANYWAY!I LOVE IVYPOOL MORE THAN THE MOON, OR THE SUN, OR THE STARS! I LOVE IVYPOOL MORE THAN LIFE!" Hawkfrost yowled to the dark sky. Ivypool was stunned. She didn't know what to say. Well, except one thing;
"I love you to Hawkfrost."
"ENOUGH! You will both pay for being traitors!"Brokenstar yowled. Then he turned to Ivypool, and snarled "Well, you'll die for being an injured weakling." He leaped onto Hawkfrost, and the two cats battled ferociously. Ivypool tried to stand up and help, but the pain in her paw was too much. She tried landing a few swipes, but she managed to only claw Hawkfrost. Tears filled her eyes. She couldn't stand by while her loved one died! Finally, Brokenstar made the killing blow. Hawkfrost fell to the ground with a sickening thud.
