After a long day of presents and music, the sun was starting to set. But for Elsa, the day was far from over. She still had one more present for Anna at the top of the clocktower.
“Come on! Now we climb!"
Anna was looking forward to her next present, but she couldn't help but worry about Elsa's health and mental well-being.
“Elsa, that's too much. You need to rest!"
Anna was probably right, but Elsa promised everything would be perfect.
“We need to get to our birthday chills... I mean, thrills!"
“Uhh... okay?"
“Did you hear Anna?" Fear asked the other Emotions. “She sounded really concerned."
“Yeah, this is starting to scare me," Sadness agreed.
Elsa opened the door to the clocktower and began climbing the stairs, really sluggishly. Her head was spinning, mostly because her Emotions were fighting.
“This has gone far enough!" Disgust screeched, trying to pull Joy away from the console.
“Disgust, the fun's not over yet!" Joy protested.
“The fun's been over for three hours!" Disgust argued.
“Come on!" Joy groaned. “What could possibly go wrong?"
“Excuse me? ‘What could possibly go wrong?!"' Disgust gasped in disbelief. “Infection, chicken pox, influenza...!"
As Disgust listed some more negative points, the other Emotions watched them quarrel.
“Uh... shouldn't we do something?" Fear asked Anger and Sadness.
Anger chuckled and said, “No."
“Elsa?"
Joy pushed Disgust away and pulled a switch.
“What? I'm fine."

Elsa led the young princess to the top of the clocktower, and the red string they've been following all day ended up there next to two wooden dolls of the two sisters.
Anna thought it was cute, but she noticed Elsa was spinning out of control.
Literally!
“I think I'm going to be sick," Disgust gagged, running out of the room.
Elsa twirled, danced and sang, but she had no idea what she was doing. Her vision was blurry and her Emotions couldn't see what was going on.
“Are we falling?" Fear stuttered. “I-I think we're falling."
“Guys, you're overreacting!" Joy assured them. “Nobody is fall..."
Fear was right. Elsa lost her balance and almost fell if it hadn't been for Anna dropping her presents and catching the mixed-up Snow Queen.
“Oh boy," Joy muttered apprehensively.
“Elsa, look at you. You have a fever! You're burning up."
“Joy, I can say today was fun," Anger admitted. “But I think it's safe to say there is such a thing as too much fun. We almost fell off a clocktower for crying out loud! Maybe it's time for us to, you know, pack up."
Joy looked around Headquarters and through the blurry Point of View monitor and realized they were right.
Joy walked away, without another word.
“Sadness, be a dear, will you?" Anger asked, smiling with relief.
Sadness pushed a switch, causing Elsa to confess.
“Okay. I have a cold."

Joy sat on her bed with a blanket wrapped around her body. She felt like the biggest idiot in the world, let alone Elsa's mind.
“Joy, are you okay?" Fear asked from the other side of the door.
“I don't know," she replied, weakly. “I... I was just so certain that... things would be different. I wanted my girls to be happy."
“Joy, it's not your fault," Fear assured her. “These things just happen."
“I know, but..." Joy was about to finish her sentence, but she just hid her face under the blanket.
“Joy, I'm coming in," Fear warned. “I'm opening the door. I'm approaching your bed, I'm pulling the blanket... off your face."
Fear saw that Joy's eyes were a little watery.
“Hey, it's okay," he whispered, stroking his fingers through her hair. “It'll be okay."
“I wasn't thinking straight," Joy confessed. “I should've listened to them."
“Joy, I'm not going to lie," Fear admitted. “I wanted this to not happen since we found out about Elsa being sick. But I didn't say anything because I knew how important to you this was. I didn't want to rain on your parade."
Joy smiled.
“Remember when I told you about not having to worry about everything?" Joy asked.
“Yeah?"
“If Elsa's sick, you can worry about that," Joy assured. “If there's something you want to tell me, just tell me."
“You're right, I'm sorry," Fear sighed. “I should've told you this morning. I just love you too much, you know?"
“It's okay," Joy assured him. “I love you, too."

After a pretty crazy evening, Anna finally managed to get Elsa to bed. Joy had returned to the console with her co-workers and made sure Elsa could relax.
“Best birthday present ever."
“Which one?"
“You letting me take care of you."

I can't say that I'm done with the Inside Elsa franchise. I mean, they'll still be doing Frozen 2 and the Christmas special.

I hope you guys enjoyed the story. Please leave a vote.
