Chapter twenty three

"Gah! Neah, I can't work with this idiot around! I would rather have Chibi and that Old Hag! Why didn't you take them?!" Judar ran to walk beside Neah, who was leading the small group.

The female magi groaned, "Sinbad, grow up, will ya?"

"It wasn't me, he started it!" Sinbad defended himself, crossing his arms angrily.

"And you should've been the one to end it," Neah snapped, stopping to glare at the king. "You're the adult here, aren't you?" Sinbad didn't have a reply.

"Hey, I'm an adult too!" Judar pouted.

"More like a baby with a wand," Neah rolled her eyes and started walking again. Yunan chuckled softly.

"Is something amusing, Yunan?" Sinbad turned his apparent need to argue on the blond magi.

"Don't even start with him," Neah pointed her staff at Sinbad. Turning around again, she muttered, "Why did I have to pick the people that hate each other?"

The group was silent for a few minutes, their destination now just around the corner. "Are we there yet?" Judar asked loudly.

Neah hit him in the head with her staff, and hissed quietly, "Shut up! They're right there! Are you trying to get us killed?" She crouched down and peered around the side of the building. Judar held his head in pain, pouting and glaring at Neah.

Surprisingly, the Elites were chatting and acting normal, right in the middle of the park. Plain as day. They would never see Neah and her group coming.

"So, do you think that magi's armies are going to get through?" One of the Elites, a man with long black hair in a ponytail and a white suit.

"Obviously not," Another man huffed. He had blond hair and a matching suit.

"The main armies have already captured most of them," The last Elite, a woman, with dark red hair, and surprisingly, dark skin. She too, wore a white suit.

"Hah, they don't stand a chance!" The first man laughed.

"Already? How?" Neah whispered. "I thought Koumei had a plan?!"

"I wonder how she got so much power, though," The first man continued.

"Mm, it's very strange," The woman agreed.

"Didn't she get sent through one of Dantalion's portals?" The second said. "That means all the magicians and Fanalis are from the Old Days."

"That's right!" The first man jump up from where he sat on a rock. "I heard there were even metal vessel users!"

"Don't tell me you'd be excited to see one?" The woman narrowed her eyes.

"Well no," The black haired man calmed down. "But you have to admit, they were kinda cool. Like that Sinbad guy...wow!"

Judar chuckled and nudged the king, "Looks like you have a fan."

Sinbad chuckled, "Too bad we're going to kill them."

"What's our plan, Neah?" Yunan asked.

"No idea," Neah admitted. "We have no idea what their magic is like..." She thought for a while, "Why don't we attack all of them at once?"

"We could take them all out at once like that," Sinbad agreed. He quietly changed into his Baal equip.

"Ok, if you're using Baal, then we'll use lightning magic too," Neah decided. "Ready guys?"

"Hell yeah!" Judar smirked, pulling out his wand. Yunan and Sinbad nodded, both readying their weapons.

All four of them ran out at once, the magi all shouting, "Ramz Al-Salos!" Neah and Judar's lightning was black, while Yunan's remained gold.

Then a blue lightning filled the air, as Sinbad yelled, "Bararaq Saiqa!"

"Ah, shit!" A yell was heard over the static, "Absorb!" The mix of lightning that had been bouncing around and setting trees on fire began moving towards the person who had shouted.

"The hell is happening?!" Neah exclaimed, the lightning not obeying her like it was supposed to.

The lightning was flowing into an object the black haired man was holding. Hundreds of white and black rukh began flying from the object. The small birds were fluttering so angrily and in such large numbers that even the Elites could see them, although they weren't bothered by it. Then, just as quickly as the birds had appeared, they were gone.

Neah took several steps back, "What the hell?!" The others seemed to agree with her thoughts, also backing off.

"Great quick thinking, Melor," The female Elite complimented, walking over to the man while brushing herself off. "Where is Alok?"

"Uhm, not sure," Melor shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck. In his free hand he held a translucent crystal.

"He better not have gotten killed by such a petty trick," The woman threatened Melor.

"You really think so little of me, Nadiya?" A voice called from behind Neah and her group. The group tried to react, but weren't quick enough, "Light Aura!" Blinding light washed over the four. An earsplitting ringing filled their ears, bringing them to their knees. Sinbad's djinn equip disappeared, and the magi dropped their wands to cover their bleeding ears.

The light began dying out, and the noise stopped. "See?" The blond who cast the spell jumped down from a tree he'd been hiding in. "You really thought I'd be killed by their simple magic?" He walked past the group, who were still on the ground.

"Alok, you're as foolish as ever," Nadiya shook her head. "Did you kill them already?" She turned her gaze on the four struggling to regain their composure.

"Nah, they're fine," Alok assured, waving her off.

"Are you guys alright?" Neah choked out, sitting up. She grabbed her staff and held on to it as tight as she could.

"Yep, I'm good," Judar sat up as well.

"What was that magic?" Sinbad asked as he and Yunan both slowly rose.

"Hah, you ran into this fight clueless, didn't you?" Melor laughed. He walked closer to stand beside his team mates.

"Why don't you stand up and we'll give you a fair chance?" Alok offered, smirking.

"Don't think little of us, you prick!" Judar yelled, grabbing his wand and standing.

"You're pushing your luck, Magi," Nadiya warned.

"How do you know he's a magi?" Neah asked as she and the others stood.

"Didn't you pay attention in school?" Alok raised an eyebrow. "He looks just like the fallen magi Judar!"

"Who's also your relative, Neah," Nadiya added.

"We also know that you two are the Wandering Magi, Yunan, and the High King of the Seven Seas, Sinbad," Alok spoke, nodding to the two standing behind Neah and Judar.

Melor sighed sadly, "Man, I'd love to chat with you, King Sinbad, but it seems things won't work out like that..."

"That's too bad," Sinbad retorted with a glare.

Neah readied her wand, "Are you guys ready?" Her hands were shaking, and he tightened her grip until her knuckles turned white.

"Of course," Yunan raised his wand. Sinbad smirked, equipping the djinn Focalor.

Judar chuckled, "We're gonna kick your asses for fucking up the future!"

"Wanna bet?" Alok challenged, returning Judar's smug expression.
