(On the side note I was going to title this "Newsies Falls" but that sounded too much like a Newsies/Gravity Falls crossover)

Welcome, to another AU of my creating, NEWSPAPER FALLS!

In this AU, Dipper and Mabel are two pre teen kids who are the (possibly only) members of the school newspaper club and write the pseudonyms "Pine Tree" and "Shooting Star".

As their parents begin to pick up on their interests, they phone the twins great uncle, Stanley (or more known as Stanford) Pines, or as he calls himself "The Mystery Man" who is the head of a section of his towns newspaper company that writes about mysteries. As a way to get more familiar with real newspapers, Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent up to their Great Uncle Stan's newspaper shack (named "The Muses of Mystery") to learn more about real newspapers.

Of course when they get there, it's a lot less cool than what they fantasizes about. The Muses of Mystery is their great uncle, who kind of uses them for free labour, and two employees. Teenage Wendy Corduroy who was in desperate need of a summer job and newspaper did give some advantages, and Soos, the assistant manager of the Muses of Mystery.

Of course, Dipper very early on in finds a collection of newspapers written by someone with the pseudonym of "The Author" who wrote the best mystery articles he's ever seen, from wild stories to blurbs of information on sightings of rare creatures. If only he could figure out who it was and if these creatures are real.

Of course, a few other mysteries are the son of Bud Gleeful. He is one of the most popular writers, despite being really young, and is working in his father's office as an apprentice. Though who's really doing most of the work to write some of these articles claiming to be telepathic? Who knows. Why do they seek so stupidly accurate? Dipper and Mabel want to know. He does seem interested to get his hand on The Authors articles, too.

Dipper also finds out about the strange group that the Northwests, the owners of the newspaper company, that they seem so set on keeping away from getting published. They call themselves The Society and Dipper and Mabel want to figure out why they're kept so far away from ever making headlines.

CHARACTERS!

Dipper Pines- 12 yr old boy, head of the newspaper club at his school. He focuses a lot more on editing than actually reporting on what's going on around the school, although he does LOVE reading mystery articles and will occasionally write one under his pseudonym. When he starts working for his Great Uncle Stan and finds the mysterious articles, he starts adding some to the pile as well.

Mabel Pines- Mabel is the main writer of the school newspaper. Reporting on school events is so much fun to her, but her real specialty is the advice column. When she is shipped up to the Muses of Mystery she starts an advice column in their section of the newspaper under her pseudonym. No one knows it's her except Pacifica Northwest, daughter of the rich owners of the newspaper business. While Mabel doesn't straight out blaspheme Pacifica in the press, sometimes she will call snooty rich kids "jerks" and "poo heads" in articles.

Stan Pines- Owner of the Muses of Mystery. With more than a few years under his belt, the twins first saw him as a professional. But he really just takes small events and blows them up in articles to make them seem big and cool (Mabel finds it impressive. Dipper, not so much) Although Stan always appears to be hiding something.

Gideon Gleeful- Son of Bud Gleeful, owner of one of the other sections of the newspaper that rivals with Stan's section. His articles under the apprenticeship of his father are always some of the most beloved articles in the paper as seen in polls. But Dipper suspects something else is going on after him and Mabel stopped into their office one time.

Pacifica Northwest- Daughter of the rich owners of the newspaper company. She picks at the Muses of Mystery, especially Mabel, calling it low brow and unprofessional. This is how she began her rivalry with her. But she has some background information on a certain group who try to get things published that Dipper is interested in.
