Ruy was already so surprised that he couldn't get more surprised. They had just destroyed the whole Neverseen base without getting caught and now the box of books they had wanted to keep was perfectly fine while all the other books were ruined.

"How is this even possible?" Sophie asked, as surprised as him.

Ruy shrugged, "I really don't know,"

Sophie pulled Ruy into a small dark place behind all the books, "The Neverseen guards are coming here, we should get out of here. Quick!"

"How?" Ruy asked.

"Do you have any leaping crystals?" Sophie asked him, checking her pockets again to be sure. "The Neverseen took mine, the one that leads to havenfield."

"I don't know, I only had one leading to the Neverseen base." Ruy answered, checking his pockets. Ruy felt something in his pocket, he pulled it out.

Sophie gasped so loud that one of the Neverseen guards turned around, "But how?"

There it was, a cobalt blue leaping crystal. Ruy couldn't believe his eyes.

"Is this yours?" Sophie asked.

"No, it isn't mine! I just checked my pocket and found it," Ruy replied.

"Okay, then! Come on, let's leap there!" Sophie told him.

"But, it leads to the forbidden cities and we don't know where," Ruy protested.

"The Neverseen are coming, where else could we go? Do you really want to stay in this prison? And after we are safely away from the Neverseen I can transmit and tell the Black Swan where we are." Sophie told him.

"Okay, fine," Ruy said, giving in. "But don't forget the box of books,"

Sophie grabbed the box of books as he leaped them to the place the crystal led them to.

"Wow," Sophie said.

Ruy couldn't take his eyes off the clear blue water on the beach with pure white sand. It was so beautiful. The mountain range behind the water gave the place an even jazzier look.

"Where are we?" he asked Sophie.

"I don't know where we are, but I know for sure that we are in one of the best beaches in the whole Forbidden cities." Sophie told him, without taking her eyes off the crystal clear water. "This place is so beautiful. I love the view from here."

Ruy nodded, agreeing with Sophie. This place was so cool, that he wanted to stay here for a long time. But he knew that it was best if they left the forbidden cities right away, but Sophie looked so peaceful and happy that he wasn't going to ruin the moment for her.

After a few minutes Ruy decided it was time to tell her that they should leave. "Sophie, I can tell you love this place but it would be best if you transmit to the black swan and let them know where we are,"

"I know that we should leave, but this place is just so......" Sophie trailed off. Ruy followed Sophie's gaze and saw that there was a huge pile of seashells.

Sophie fell down and her knees sank into the sand. Her face looked sad.

"What happened?" Ruy asked her, his voice laced with concern.

Did she have bad memories with seashells? What could a shell do to a person? Maybe someone hurt her with a shell. Oh, no!

"Nothing bad, don't worry. I just remember all the beaches we went to when I lived with my human family. And all the shells we collected together," Sophie told him, not looking at him right in the eyes.

"Oh, you must miss them," Ruy said, sitting next to her on the soft sand.

"Yeah, I miss them a lot," Sophie admitted, a few tears fell but she wiped them away.

"It's okay to cry, Sophie," Ruy told her.

"I know, but I feel like a baby," Sophie sighed, as more tears leaked down her face.

"Sophie, you are strong and I know it. It's okay to cry after all of the things you have been through before and after you have come to the lost cities." Ruy told her.

Sophie looked at him.

"What?" he asked.

Sophie just stared.

Oh, Ruy realized what she was trying to say without actually saying it.

"I'm sorry, Sophie. I truly am." Ruy told her.

He was sorry. Very sorry for all the times he hurt Sophie and her friends. He shouldn't have joined and trusted the Neverseen in the first place, but then again the black swan were the people who kicked him out just because he wasn't useful. And the Neverseen were the people who helped him and treated people with and without abilities fairly. But the Neverseen only had one good goal, to change the way people think about abilities. Other than that, the rest were just hurting others. He really didn't know what to feel about this situation.

"Ruy? Ruy? Hello? Are you there?" Sophie asked him, waving her hand in front of his face.

"Oh, sorry! I was just thinking," he said, slowly getting back from his thoughts.

"Okay, I just said that I trust you and I know you won't ever hurt me again." Sophie told him.

"Oh, wow! The Sneaky Sophie trusts me!" Ruy said, acting surprised.

"I am not sneaky!" Sophie protested.

"Yes, you are!" Ruy told her, with a wink.

"No, I'm not!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Fine," Ruy threw his hands up in defeat.

Sophie glared at him and he smiled knowing that this would make Sophie even more angry at him.

"I hate you!" Sophie told him, punching his arm.

"Owww. I thought you just said you trusted me, how could you hate a person and then trust them?" Ruy smiled, mischievously.

Sophie sighed. Did she really think it would be that easy?

"Nope, I didn't think it would be that easy but-" Sophie started, Ruy interrupted her.

"Did you just read my mind?" he asked her.

"Yes, I did." she grinned, smugly.

"Okay, fine! I won't annoy you anymore." Ruy whined.

"Well....now getting back to what we were talking to before you started distracting me, are you going to go back to the Neverseen after they have hurt you this much?" Sophie asked him.

"I-" Ruy didn't know what to say. For once he was at a loss of words.

After thinking for a moment he said, "I'm not, after all they have done, I'm not going back."

Sophie sighed in relief.

"I could join the black swan, but they were the ones who kicked me out." Ruy told her.

Sophie shrugged, "We should ask Mr. Forkle about what really happened, and we are going to make them tell us."

He nodded, "So, I think I will just come back to the lost cities with you and then think about the next step from there."

"Okay,"

"I really think it is time for us to leave," Ruy told her.

"But-" Sophie paused, "Fine, let's leave now but we are coming back here later."

"Sounds like a plan!" Ruy said, "Wait, we just can't leave! You have to transmit,"

"Oh, right," Sophie slapped herself.
