( Todd x Shadow )

The end was nigh. The male had watched everything out of teary eyes. He glanced up as an angry male narrowed his eyes .

" Why Shadow , why ? " The male hissed and Shadow began to cry a bit harder. Everything had turned so ... So horrid less than a day.

" I.. "

" You what !? Everyone trusted you... I  trusted you ... "

" I know Todd..  I messed up... " Whispered Shadow and stood up. " I was blamed for something I didn't do – trust me ! "

" How can I trust you .. ! " Todd shouted, tears flooded out of his eyes and he began to sniff. " I loved you Shadow.. "

Shadow's heart felt like it got ripped out of his heart. He hung his head low as he began to cry. Even though Todd and him butt heads a lot, they always came back to each other for some strange reason.

Shadow stood up off the ground, heaving his aching body upwards and stepped closer towards Todd. Todd noticed this and took a step back.

Rain tapped the ground and the chaotic world around them began to relax as the rain put the flames back in its place.

" Todd – I messed up... Let me make this up – "

Todd blinked and turned away. " You hurt me bad Shadow , I don't think I can forgive you... "

" Give me another chance , please.. " Shadow's voice was raw and pleading. His red eyes were full of pain and sorrow. He couldn't imagine not being Todd's friend. He would miss all the moments they had bickering over some useless thing, or when it was just them; no Mavis or Summer... Or anyone in that matter to take his mind off of Todd.

Todd was silent for the longest time until he sighed, wiping a tear away from his blue eye.

" Fine. Don't cross me again, alright Shadow ? " He responded, his voice shaky and weak.

" I promise Todd.. " Tears almost positioned themselves onto his cheek, but he blinked them away.

" Thank you "
