──── MELANIE BYERS has had it very difficult when living in Hawkins. Beginning with getting trapped in the upside-down world, accompanied by her brother, William Byers. It was a very tragic experience for both of them. Leading them to be stuck in the hospital for days. It took a while for her to adjust to school, everyone made jokes that truly hurt her. The students judged her for being different,
she could never fit in anywhere and of course, that affected Melanie to feel like she didn't belong in the world.

Melanie was a sensitive person, she can admit that but it doesn't mean she wasn't able to stand up for herself and others. Months later, her mom, Joyce Byers had begun dating a man named, Bob Newby. He was like a father to her, even if they didn't spend that much time together. His loss had affected her the most, in Melanie's words, Bob was a part of her heart. And his death was like a piece of her heart had shattered then disappeared, just like he did. She had to accept that, someday. She still remembers him to this day, Melanie would never forget him.

Everyone thought it was over till summer came along. It was complete chaos, a new monster had appeared. They called it the Mind Flayer, it was the biggest monster ever faced. Unfortunately, that day people lost so much, especially El, Max, and Melanie. Two of the three had lost Jim Hopper, he was a father to El, even if he wasn't her actual dad. Hopper was Melanie's father figure, she didn't know what having a dad was like. Since Lonnie wasn't around when she was a kid so Hopper was like her dad. Even though they aren't blood-related it doesn't make them any less family.

After the events, everyone decided it would be good for the Byers and El to move to California. Where there was no trouble whatsoever. At least that's what they thought. The Byers and El had to save goodbye to their dearest friends. All of them had known each other for a long time and protected one another throughout each crisis, monster related or not. It was hard for everyone, nothing would ever be the same. But look at the bright side at least all of them would be able to make new friends. And El would finally be able to do all the normal things other people do. So, it's not so bad, right?

Home, it's a place, Melanie would forever miss. Her home isn't in California, it'll always be Hawkins. That's where she made all her memories, it's where she grew up. Nothing can change that. She would play dungeons and dragons with the four boys, known as Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, and of course, her little brother, Will Byers. They were the best of friends, Melanie would always stand up for them when Troy and his friend James were causing trouble. Next, came along El and Max, two people she could relate to.

The three would go shopping, watch movies, have sleepovers, and do all sorts of things. Even spy on the boys, which they would get completely annoyed at. The girls never listened to what the boys would say with El's powers, after all, they were just having fun. Even during the situations, Melanie would always find a way to make them laugh. It was something El and Max admired about her. Neither of them would trade each other for anything, even if it was to save their own lives. That is what Melanie's home was, with her friends and family in Hawkins. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
