Final Thoughts

In this time of panic, look to the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth. Don't focus on the winds of current circumstance that swirl around you; keep your gaze locked upon the One who commands the winds. Christians are called believers. Do they believe God's Word? Do you? It should show in how you live.

Matthew 5:14-16 - You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

As the rest of the world fearfully scrambles through the darkness looking for some form of hope or guidance, Christians can be the light that God wanted us to be, showing the way by how we live and respond to the world around us. While others fear, we can remain calm and direct them to something better.

Psalm 23:6 - Surely goodness and lovingkindess will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

In Matthew 7:24-27 the story of the houses built on the rock and the sand are compared. Both houses were battered by the wind, but only the one built upon the rock stood firm while the one built on sand fell. The world lacks the foundation of God, and as the winds blow, their fears will increase as their house begins to shift. Securely built upon God and His promises, we have a firm foundation to offer them help and much needed stability.

This is not a time of crisis but of opportunity. We have the chance to show God's love and power to all who would open their eyes and see. The bigger the situation becomes, the more opportunity we have to point people to God.

Always remember, God loves us and wants good things for us, so if ever the things of this world try to make you afraid, keep the faith of a child and remember, "He promised."
