𝑯𝑶𝑴𝑬𝑺𝑰𝑪𝑲𝑵𝑬𝑺𝑺 was no stranger to Kaleyna Hightower. She first found it when her father's carriage brought both her and her older brother, Ormund, towards King's Landing, and it plagued her since. The vile feeling in her heart only worsened when the same man left her life entirely, as she buried his bones in the same soil she was birthed on and her brother refused to come at all. He was right not to, in many ways.

Hobert Hightower was no father, simply the outline of one. When their mother, Brianna, took her last breath in childbirth, failing to take Kaleyna with her, the young girl grew to guilt herself for the grief and absence their father experienced not long afterwards. Ormund was not blind to it. He riddled himself with the idea of bringing his younger sister out of such remorse, ultimately causing the two children to sever any love for their father at all.

When things took a turn on Hobert's mental health, the two were sent away to King's Landing, as per their uncle's request. Slowly, both Hightower children took a liking to each of the young princes, Viserys and Daemon. They held a bond that they believed nothing could break.

They were wrong.
