Cherno wiped the sweat off of her brow, looking through the storage locker. She had been sorting out weapons all day, looking for the ones belonging to Godzilla and the others. From Mothra's knives to Rodan's swords, they were all there. Anguirus' hammer was the only weapon left to find. Finally, she found it. She lifted the hammer out of storage, and brought it over to him. He seemed nearly ecstatic to see it again.
"This is yours, right?" She asked.
"Hell yeah, it is." Anguirus nodded. He took the hammer from her and placed it on his shoulder. He looked up at it and breathed in deeply. "Feels good to hold this thing again. Thanks for taking it out for me."
"No problem." Cherno said. An idea began to form in her mind as she observed the hammer, and she placed a hand on her chin in thought. "However... if you'd like, I could make you something better." She said. Anguirus raised an eyebrow, and after thinking on it for a bit, placed the hammer against the wall next to him and crossed his arms.
"I'm listening." He said.
"I design and engineer all the weapons for this Jaeger devision." Cherno explained. "I hate to admit it, but I feel bad for keeping you in the Pit like that, especially since you didn't really deserve it. If you'd like, I could design something for you to make it up to you. Perhaps a new hammer."
Anguirus nodded and smirked. He liked the way Cherno thought. "Alright, I'll give it a shot." He said. "What did you have in mind?"
Cherno smirked as well. She had Anguirus follow her into another room, where there was a long table and a pile of scrap metal. There was also a roll of paper in the corner of the room. She grabbed a piece of paper and laid it out over the table. She also grabbed a pencil and began to draw the shape of a hammer, similar to Anguirus', but slightly different in terms of shape.
"This is where I design and forge all the weapons." Cherno explained. "The idea I have for this hammer would involve small jets to propel it foreword, adding a bit of extra power on each swing."
"That sounds cool, but I don't know if I'm strong enough to hold onto something like that." Anguirus nodded. "Maybe if it was steam powered, that might work."
"So it would be propelled by blasts of steam." Cherno agreed, nodding as she drew steam powered jets on the back of the hammer's head. "That would provide less power than a normal jet, but you'd be able to wield it more easily."
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking." Anguirus said. "Maybe we could add one here too." He pointed to the pommel of the hammer. "It would help when I throw it at enemies."
Cherno nodded, drawing another jet on the pommel. They spent the next five minutes planning out the design of the hammer. They seemed to both be having fun working on it. In fact, Anguirus had never seen Cherno get as excited about anything else. Then again, he hadn't ever seen her when she was excited before. After a few more minutes, he had to stop her before the hammer got too crazy.
"Alright, I think it looks pretty good right now." Anguirus nodded. "How quickly do you think you can make something like this?"
"Shouldn't take too long." Cherno said. "I should be able to get it to you tomorrow." She began to roll up the blueprints, but Anguirus wanted to help.
"Here, let me-" He began. He attempted to help her roll up the paper, but instead, his hand landed on top of hers. They each looked at their hands, and then at each other. Their eyes locked. Cherno blushed while Anguirus simply blinked. They were both thinking the same thing, as they both leaned in and kissed. Just as they started getting into it, Cherno realized what she was doing. She broke the kiss, and slapped Anguirus as hard as she could.
"Oh! What was that for?" He asked.
"What do you think, idiot!?" She replied. "Why did you kiss me?"
"Uh, pretty sure you kissed me." Anguirus replied.
"I did not!" Cherno growled, crossing her arms and blushing. Anguirus crossed his arms as well, and leaned a little bit closer to her.
"Admit it, you kinda liked it." He chuckled. Offended by his accusation, Cherno gasped and slapped him again.
"Do you want me to make you this hammer or not?" She snapped.
"Yeah, sure. Just stop hitting me." Anguirus said.
"Good. Now leave, I have some forging to do." Cherno said. She began to step out of her Jaeger armour, revealing her athletic build underneath a white high-cut tank top and green camo pants. She grabbed a pair of welding gloves and goggles off of a shelf on the wall. When she looked back up, she saw Anguirus was still standing in the doorway. He was staring at her with a raised eyebrow, seemingly admiring her body. She growled and picked up a sledgehammer from the ground, bouncing it a few times on the palm of her hand. Anguirus could see she was threatening to use it on him.
"Alright, alright, I'm going!" He said, leaving the room. Cherno waited until he was out of eyeshot before sighing and placing the goggles on her face.
"I don't like him... that much." She told herself. Despite this, she still smiled as she thought about what she had just done. Maybe dating a Kaiju wouldn't be so bad.

The next day, Godzilla and Gypsy were in the Watchtower, observing a map of the world on one of the screens. There were red dots all over in different parts of the world.
"What are these dots?" Godzilla asked.
"Those are the locations of the remaining Kaiju from the breach." Gypsy explained. "All the rest have already gone back to the breach, but these six are still here. We think they're planning something before they also head to the breach."
Godzilla grimaced as he looked at the dots. He couldn't help but feel responsible for the Kaiju escaping into the world. "Is Slattern one of them?" He asked.
"I think so." Gypsy said, nodding once. He looked at the ground and furrowed his brow. "I heard about what she did to Muto. If I had known, I would have done something about it."
"It's alright. Muto's fine now, but she's been through a lot." Godzilla replied. Gypsy nodded, and typed on the keyboard underneath the screen. The screen zoomed into one of the red dots, and revealed that one of the Kaiju was, in fact, Slattern.
"Looks like you were right." He said. "She seemed to be the ring leader, so we'll have to bring her in for interrogation. I'll send out my Jaegers and your army to go find the others, but you and I are gonna take down Slattern."
Godzilla smirked. "Good. I'm looking foreword to punishing her."
Gypsy typed onto his keyboard again, this time bring up pictures of the Jaegers, as well as Godzilla's army. As Gypsy typed, the Kaiju grouped into pairs. Godzilla was with Gypsy, as he had explained before, Mothra was paired with Crimson, Anguirus was paired with Cherno, Rodan was paired with Coyote, and Battra was paired with Striker.
"I created the teams based on our skills and powers." Gypsy explained. "I'll notify the others. We should leave in a half hour or so."
"Alright, sounds good." Godzilla said. "I'll go get my army prepared."
He turned and began to head for the door. When he opened it, he was met by Anguirus, holding a new hammer. He seemed excited about it.
"Godzilla, check this out!" He said. "Cherno designed this new hammer for me!" Godzilla eyed the hammer closely. It was impressive, with steam jets exactly where Anguirus and Cherno had specified. It was the same colour as his old hammer, with spots of black and silver thrown in.
"Damn, that's pretty cool." Godzilla said. "You're gonna have a chance to test it out pretty soon. Gypsy just told me we're gonna head out to find the Kaiju who still haven't gone back to the breach."
"Alright, awesome." Anguirus said. "Oh, wait, I almost forgot. Mothra told me that she wanted to see you."
Godzilla's heart jumped as she heard Mothra's name. "Did she say why?"
"I dunno, but by the way she was acting, it's probably something good." Anguirus said. With that, he turned and walked away, back down the hall. Godzilla hesitated before walking back through the other hall. Since he and the others were free now, they didn't need to stay in their cells any more. Instead, they were staying similar living quarters to the ones the Jaegers stayed in. Godzilla eventually made it to Mothra's room, and knocked on the door. It immediately opened, and Mothra was on the other side.
"Oh, hey, Godzilla. Glad you're here." She said.
"Anguirus said you wanted to see me." Godzilla said. "Any particular reason?-"
Mothra cut him off by gently grasping his head and pulling him into a kiss. He was surprised to say the least, but at the same time he felt relieved. Eventually, he gave in and began to kiss back. He wrapped his arms around her petite frame and pulled her close to him, while she moved her arms to go around his neck. After some time had passed, neither was really sure how long, they pulled away from each other, but they didn't let go.
"What was that all about?" Godzilla asked, a slight chuckle in his voice.
"Just giving you some reassurance." Mothra said. Her voice was laced with sincerity. "After what's happened the last few days, especially between us, I know you've been feeling bad. I just wanted to let you know that my feelings for you haven't changed at all. I still love you."
Godzilla smiled. Hearing this gave him more relief than she knew. He had been so worried about their relationship, and now all his worry was gone. He pulled her into a close embrace, and she rested her head onto his shoulder, nuzzling into his neck.
"Thank you." He said, somewhat quietly. "I love you too."
Mothra closed her eyes and smiled. Everything was right in her world once again. She wanted to stay in that moment forever. Godzilla felt the same way. But unfortunately, the moment was too good to last. They were interrupted by a loud knocking on the door. As they turned around, they saw Rodan smirking at them while leaning in the doorframe.
"Hey there, lovebirds." He chuckled. The two let go of each other. Mothra blushed and brushed her hair behind her ear, while Godzilla crossed his arms and glared at Rodan.
"We were kind of in the middle of something." He said.
"I just thought I'd let you know that Gypsy wants us all to gather on top of the Shatterdome for some sort of meeting." Rodan explained. "But if you'd rather just stay here and make out for an hour, that's fine too."
"You realize you interrupted a really important moment for us, right?" Mothra said.
"Oh, please, don't let me stop you." Rodan said, holding up his hands and backing up. Godzilla walked over and closed the door. He sighed and faced Mothra again.
"Well, that was ruined." He said.
"Not quite." Mothra said. She stood up on her toes so she could kiss Godzilla's forehead. This made him smile and chuckle.
"You're adorable." He said, lifting up her chin.
"I try." Mothra replied, gently pushing his hand away. "Now, c'mon, let's go."

Godzilla shielded his eyes as he stepped out of the Shatterdome and into the world for the first time in days. The ocean crashed against the sides of the walls, and the sun shone down above them. He smiled as he felt the warmth on his face and the wind in his hair. His jacket fluttered in the breeze. Once again, he was free. Mothra appeared behind him, grasped his arm and rested her head on his shoulder again.
"Pretty soon, we'll be back home." She said.
In response, Godzilla put his hand on hers. The moment was interrupted by Anguirus as he came up behind him and placed an arm on both of their shoulders, getting in between them.
"Yep, it's good to finally be out of there." He said. Godzilla rolled his eyes, while Mothra laughed at the interruption. Muto, who was in the Shatterdome longer than any of them, was a little shaky stepping out of the prison. But when she felt fresh air for the first time in months, she immediately calmed down. Battra approached her.
"By the way, Muto," He asked, "why are you being released with the rest of us?"
"I had information on Slattern." Muto replied. "The Jaegers gave me a decreased sentence as a reward for giving it to them."
"That, and you were pretty well behaved while you were here." Gypsy said, approaching the Kaiju. Muto nodded as he walked past them to the address all of them at once.
"Alright, so you should all know the plan at this point." He explained. "Were going to find these Kaiju and lock them up for good this time. I've paired each of you with one of the Jaegers from my devision. They should be arriving in their boats soon, and they'll escort you to where the Kaiju are. And all you need to do is find them, fight them, and bring them back. Understand?"
Godzilla and the others nodded, and Gypsy nodded back. The boats arrived shortly after, and the mission finally began.
