Gypsy Danger hadn't been to New York since he was young. Today was the Japan Shatterdome Jaeger's first day off in months, so he and the rest of the Jaegers took a trip to New York for the evening. Work had been rough the past couple weeks. It seemed that new Kaiju were popping up left and right. But today, it was time to relax. He wasn't Gypsy Danger today, he was only Riley.
"So, where do you guys wanna go?" He asked. Stacy, the alter ego of Coyote Tango, was holding onto his arm as they walked through the streets. The two had recently began dating.
"We have all night, don't we?" She said. "Let's do a little bit of everything!"
"Well, we can't do everything tonight." Charlie, the alter ego of Striker Eureka, added. "But I say we head to a nice restaurant somewhere."
Hujin, the alter ego of Crimson Typhoon, chuckled. "Big surprise, you're interested in food." He said. "Though to be honest, I've heard good things about New York's pizza."
Finally, Sacha, the alter ego of Cherno Alpha, wrapped her arms over Hujin and Charlie's shoulders with a grin on her face. "I think we should all get something to drink." She suggested. "Preferably something with alcohol."
"I like that plan." Riley agreed. "But you guys are missing something here; we're in New York. Trust me, I was born here, so I know the one thing you need to see in New York is the Statue of Liberty."
Then it happened. A crash. A cloud of smoke and rubble. Riley stopped in his tracks, only to see a trench dug into the street in front of him. He looked up to see that an object had crashed into the street, tearing it apart as it slid along the asphalt. Upon looking closer, the object was none other than the Statue of Liberty's head.
"Well, looks like we saw it." Charlie said, raising an eyebrow in confusion. Hujin and Stacy ran to the head, beginning to inspect it. Hujin produced a device from his pocket that resembled a high-tech cell phone, but in reality, it was a handheld scanner. He began scanning the markings on the remains of the neck of the statue.
"Holy shit... it looks like these were caused by a... a creature." He said.
"Yeah, I'm getting that too." Stacy agreed, using her own device. "These are claw marks. Something ripped the head off on its own!"
"How the hell is that possible?" Riley asked.
"No idea." Hujin said. "I think we're dealing with another new Kaiju."
Riley sighed to himself. "So much for a day off." He muttered. He turned to Sacha, who was helping calm people down along with Charlie.
"Cherno, you know what to do." He said. Hearing her code name rather than her regular name, she knew this was serious.
"On it." Cherno replied. She rolled back the sleeve of her leather jacket, revealing a device strapped to her wrist like a watch. On it were three buttons. One of them called in their armour, which would fire in from the Shatterdome with built-in rockets, and fly to them with motion and location sensors. She pressed that button immediately. The second button contacted the Gotengo, a flying battleship that was mainly used to locate and detain Kaiju. It was helmed by the cyborg Jet Jaguar. They would need his help with this, so she pressed that button as well. Finally, the last button. The final resort. The third button contacted Godzilla on Monster Island.
