LILY EVANS NEVER PEGGED HERSELF AS THE SMITTEN TYPE! ━ the studious? yes. the rule follower? yes. the determined? absolutely. anything along those lines? most definitely because she liked to believe she knew every single word that could describe her by heart. some good and some not-so-good, she had a list for both, organized in the back of her mind, when she would lay in bed and stare at the ceiling, ridden of sleep. she would think and think and think. overthinking was just another thing she tends to do too much.

but smitten wasn't one of them.

BUT SHE DID ━ know someone who, well, used to seem smitten with her, someone she thought without a question was an arrogant toe rag. and an attention seeking git. and an idiotic fool who has no intention of doing anything good in this chaotic world they live in. she had that list in her head as well, kept safely tucked right next to the one about her own words to describe herself except she never read this list because she had already memorized every single thing she would use to describe this guy.
annoying, cocky, obsessive are just to name a few. although, she can't help but notice some other things-

NO! CERTAINLY still believes in her list. ( or at least is trying to believe ) oh, his rumpled hair and his signature, little smirk. and his nicely built chest, in the way where now, you could slightly see his biceps through his crisp white shirt. he clearly was attractive and used it to his advantage, running his fingers through delicate strands when speaking, lily wanted to scream in annoyance. no, she doesn't think that much about him, it was more of a decent or an average amount spent on thinking of someone who makes you want to pull your hair out.

WHAT MAKES IT ━ worse is that he did something that would push lily to the edge. he asked her out repeatedly, despite her rejecting him every single time! this guy, who teased her ex best friend for years, along with others, who probably believes he's higher than everyone else, thinks she'd want to go out with him? what a loathsome fool he was, to actually believe she would give him a chance after years of him being an idiot! also, it was quite obvious it was just for show, she was absolutely sure he would be gone and out of her face the moment she said yes and then she would be left a confused mess.

but things have changed a bit since fifth year.

BECAUSE HER ━ present sixth year self can't say the same thing. as much as she's tried, she just can't form the words anymore, how naturally they came out before. now, she wants to smile at him when he looks her way. now, she wants to talk to him when he begins a conversation. but he was still the boy who teased. he was still the boy who didn't give a damn about her feelings. but there was this muggle thing her mother said when she was younger.

"people can change."

AND JAMES POTTER ━ definitely changed in a way that she had never saw it coming. hit her like a bullet, swirling towards without her realizing it was bound to happen, making her collapse. she felt like she had been run over by a herd of elephants, their feet stepping on her hard and slowly, barely letting her breathe in realization that he actually changed. she couldn't let herself believe it. it was unbelievable, unexpected, impossible, and astonishing. those words couldn't describe even a little of what she felt. or is feeling.

not to mention, since when did he look so, utterly gorgeous?

SHE'D COME TO ━ the conclusion that the whole never-the-smitten-type was killed the moment she noticed he was not the same old schoolboy who would never amount to anything. and maybe, just maybe, he actually seemed nice? oh, why was the world against her? out of all the guys in the school, all of the guys who could very well be attractive and sweet, ( though only a few had asked her out, it was rather weird ) she had to fall for the one who had almost every female down on their knees, begging for a chance for him to love them?

SHE IS SCREWED.
ABSOLUTELY SCREWED.

hello everyone!
i have finally published one of my many jily fics that have remained in my drafts for quite a bit, so i'm really excited and hopefully, this will be the first book i finish!

so, for awhile, i was debating between a sirius black x oc fanfic with the song gold rush or a jily fic with the song, which i obviously ended up with jily.

gold rush is like lily when she realizes james potter is actually not that bad and kind of hot, but then there's always the other girls chasing james, since she wasn't the only one who felt this way.

constructive criticism is always welcome, just don't be mean, i know i'm not the best writer to ever step into the world and i'm not planning to be perfect.

chapters will be written in lowercase, don't worry, it's on purpose because i'm on my phone!
