"Now. When did you get back?" Caroline demanded out of the vampire.

"Couple hours." The brunette answered the blonde.

The two were in Caroline's room while she got ready for school.

"And you didn't visit me first?!" Caroline questioned, pouting.

"Had family business to take care of." Maeve said, defending herself.

"With your brother right? I met him while he was with Elena at the grill." Caroline said, turning.

"Exactly." The vampire grinned.

"Why didn't you tell anyone you knew Maeve before?" Elena questioned, trying to look demanding.

"You didn't ask before." The blonde shrugged, sarcastically.

Elena gave her a wtf face.

"Now, Care, I do need to ask something of you." Maeve said, sitting up with a grin.

"Sure, what's up." Caroline asked, putting a hanger away.

"Elena, the brunette one, Stefan was with. What do you know about her?"

"Everything. Known her since I was little." Caroline answered. "Why?"

"I need you to tell me everything about that girl." Maeve said as Caroline looked at her.

"Why?" Bonnie asked this time.

"It'll show, little witch." Maeve said as her daughter, Lexi, rolled her eyes. That was HER nickname.

"Someone's jealous." Alex teased.

"Shut. It." Alexis glared at her twin.

~❤️~

"I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline said in the next scene to Bonnie.

"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so I kinda tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so." Bonnie explained.

"Test it out if you're so curious." Caroline suggested.

"I don't think that's how it works, Care." Bonnie laughed at her friend.

~😞~

The next scene showed Elena walking into the Salvatore house.

"Elena! You cant just walk into their house!" Jenna scolded the girl who looked down in embarrassment.

"Why, hi there." Maeve scared Elena.

Elena began to stutter. "I...I'm sorry for barging in. The door was...open."

"Was it?" Maeve wondered. "You must be Elena, right? I'm Stefan's older sister."

"He didn't tell me he had a sister." Elena mumbled.

"Well, he's not much of a bragger." Maeve said, waving it off. "Why don't you stay? I'm sure Stefan'll be here any second."

"Wow." Elena said as she looked around. "This is your living room?"

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my brother's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought he'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him."

"The last one?" Elena questions.

"Yeah. Katherine, his girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet." Maeve grinned awkwardly.

"Nope."

"Well, I'm sure it's gonna happen now."

"I hate you." Stefan glared at his sister who only grinned.

"Love ya to, little bro."

"Elena. I didn't know you were coming over." Stefan said, gaining her attention.

"I know. I should have called, I just..."

Maeve cut her off. "Oh, don't be silly. You're welcome any time. Isn't she, Stefan? You know, I should break out the family photo albums or some home movies. But...I have to warn you. He wasn't always such a looker."

"Oh! I have to see those!" Caroline squealed, happily.

"You got it, bae." Maeve winked at the blonde which made a certain original jealous.

"Thank you for stopping by, Elena. Nice to see you." Stefan said in a monotone voice.

"Yeah, I should probably go. It was nice to meet you, Maeve."

"Same to you, Elena."

Stefan moved as Elena left.

"Elena? She seems great. You don't on the other hand." Maeve teased. "Should I guess.... The hospital?"

"Someone had to clean up your mess." Stefan replied, glaring.

"Well, were you successful? Did the powers of persuasion work? Remember, if you don't feed properly, none of those little tricks work right."

"How long was Elena here?" Stefan changed the subject.

Elena smiled at Stefan's protectiveness over her already.

"Were you worried, Stefan? Scared we may be doomed to repeat the past? Isn't that why you play your little game, "I'm a high school human"?" Maeve asked, beaming at him.

"I'm not playing any game." Stefan said, clearly lying.

"So what? You go to school, for fun?" Kai asked.

"He gets it."

"Mhm, oh, I'm so sure." She replied, being sarcastic.

"What game are you playing, Maeve?" Stefan questioned.

She shrugged. "Guess, you'll have to stick around to find out."

~✍️~

Maeve was in the grill when Vicki came over to her.

"I know you."

"Excuse me?" Maeve asked, amused.

"I'm sorry, I know you, I just can't remember why." Vicki said before excusing herself.

Vicki goes into the restroom and takes some pills. When she looks up into the mirror, Maeve is behind her and attacks her. She screams.

~🥹~

"You really have to stop screaming." Maeve told her as they were on the roof in the next scene.

"No, please, stop. Don't..." Vicki pleaded with her.

"No, hey, it's alright..." Maeve reassured her.

"Yes, say that as you're on a roof about to DROP HER!" Elena screamed at her.

"Why are you yelling at me? I didn't even do anything to her... yet."

"No! No!" Vicki screamed.

"Shh, I'm not gonna drop you." Maeve said before turning to her brother. "Not to bad, little brother. What? Been eating a lot of bunny's lately?"

"Let her go." Stefan demanded.

Maeve looked between the druggie and the bunny muncher. "Really? Cool with me."

Maeve pulled her to the edge of the room, gaining screams from both Vicki and Stefan.

"No!"

"No! No!"

Maeve threw her to Stefan. "Will you relax? Geez take a joke."

"You're a monster. She could have died!" Elena yelled.

"Oh spare me, doppelgänger. She's already dead!" Maeve said back.

"Yeah, because of you." Elena spat.

"If you remember correctly, Stefan was the one to actually kill her, not me. I tried to help her, but you all thought I couldn't help her. Well, guess what, Elena? She's dead!"

"What's happening?" Vicki asked, confused on what's going on around her.

"I don't need her to be dead, but...you might." Maeve smiled at Stefan before kneeling towards Vicki.

"What attacked you the other night?"

"I don't know. An animal." Vicki answered.

"You sure? Just think about it. And think super hard." Maeve said to the girl. "What attacked you?"

"A vampire." Vicki whispered.

"Mhm, and who was it?"

"You!"

"Nope! Wrong!"

"Maeve, please."

"It was Stefan."

"Maeve!"

"Come here." Maeve said to her before grabbing her and started to compel her.

"Stefan Salvatore did this to you."

"Stefan Salvatore did this to me." Vicki didn't have any choice but to repeat.

"He's a vampire. A vicious, murderous monster." She added on to the compelling.

"Maeve, please don't do this." Stefan begged her.

"If you couldn't fix it before, I don't know what you can do now." Maeve threw the girl to her brother.

"I'm loving this." Kol commented.

"Course you are." Klaus rolled his eyes at him.

"Ugh! Your choice of lifestyle has made you weak. A couple of vampire parlor tricks is nothing compared to the power that you could have, that you now need. But you can change that. Human blood gives you that."

"No!" Vicki yelled, but was ignored.

"You have two choices. You can feed and make her forget. Or you can let her run, screaming "vampire" through the town square." Maeve shrugged.

"That's what you're trying to do? Expose me?" Stefan questioned.

"What? No, stupid! You need to remember what it's like to be a vampire! Because you're not helping yourself or anyone if you keep trying to be something you're not!" She yelled at her younger brother.

"Why? So what, so I'll feed? So I'll kill? So I'll remember what it's like to be family again? You know what, let her go. Let her tell everyone that vampires have returned to Mystic Falls. Let them chain me up, and let them drive a stake through my heart, because at least I'll be free of you."

"That... was beautiful, Steffie. Too bad I've got plans." Maeve said, confusing him. "Alright, Cmon, sweetie."

"No!"

"No, hey, it's okay." She then whispered something into her ear, softly, making Vicki's whole attitude change.

"What happened? Where am I? Oh, I ripped my stitches open. Ugh..."

"You okay?" Stefan asked her.

" I took some pills, man. I'm good." She replied, before leaving the two alone.

"Ugh, what?" Maeve grumbled at Elena who was still glaring at her but The Doppelgänger said nothing.

"It's good to be home. Think I might stay a while. This town could use a bit of a wake-up call, don't you think?" Maeve asked, grinning ear to ear.

"What are you up to, Maeve?"

"That's for me to know and for you to...dot dot dot. Give Elena my best." Maeve winked, leaving him alone.

~🔝~

"You were a big help today." Maeve said as she walked up to Caroline Forbes.

"Was I?" Caroline asked, beaming.

"Ya bet ya, bae." Maeve said.

"You didn't like.. kill her, did you?" Caroline asked, sheepishly.

"No, Care." Maeve laughed. "But thanks!"
