Imagine harry has been your best friend for years and years and you two have been together through everything you could possibly imagine like family issues and school and failed relationships but the only constant in your life so far has been him and you’ve never really let yourself believe it but you’ve always been in love with him and you know he’s the one you’re supposed to be with and one night you’re sitting together at a park and you’re kind of swinging on the swings but really you’re just sitting there waiting for each other to finally admit how you really feel because every day you don’t tell him you feel like a bit of your heart is breaking and it’s been so hard this last year because you’ve finally started to accept that you’re in love with him but you couldn’t say anything because he either had a girlfriend or you were convinced he didn’t love you back and as you sit there quietly waiting for him to say something he’s thinking about how much he’s loved you since the day he met you but he was never brave enough to tell you and he’s tried so many times but his heart wouldn’t let him cause he’d rather be your friend than risk losing you so you’re both sitting there in the dark on the swings and you’re so in love with each other but no one will say it and you’re silently begging each other to admit it and no one does but you can feel it in the air like a tangible presence and you can feel the tears starting to build in your eyes because you know if he doesn’t say it now he never will and you’ll have to lose the best thing that ever happened to you before it even started because you’re both too weak to admit it and in the dark you finally cave because you think your heart is actually shattering with every passing second and you beg him ‘say something’ and he just looks at you and doesn’t say anything because he still doesn’t believe you could possibly be in love with him too and his silence is like a dagger to your heart cause you think it means he doesn’t love you even though he pictures spending the rest of his life with you every single second of the day and you give him a few seconds before you manage to whisper ‘please say something’ and your voice is cracking because your throat is tight with tears and you want more than anything in the world for him to tell you but he doesn’t and you know you’ll never get to have what you’ve wanted for years because neither of you can admit it and you know you’ll have to give up on him and it shreds your heart into dust and you give him one more chance and you beg ‘please harry’ but he doesn’t say anything and his eyes are focused on the ground and his chest is tight because he wants nothing more than to tell you he’s in love with you but he can’t and you can’t and neither of you will ever cave because you’re both too stupid to believe what you could have and your heart is pretty much charred to dust at this point and I’m literally sobbing
