One to one Interview with the very talented Jasmin A Miller

Alanna: It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Jasmin. I'm Alanna, your charming host. How does it feel to be here, among all these amazing users?

Jasmin: It's very exciting to be a part of this. Thanks so much for the invitation. :)

Alanna: You're welcome, Jasmin. You're a superb writer. A lot of users have read your work, and I'm sure they want to know who's behind the stories. Tell us a little about yourself.

Jasmin: My life is pretty boring, so there isn't much to tell. Lol. But let's see. I'm a wife and a mom of three little ones which means my life is filled with lots of diaper changes and feeding those cute monsters. The little alone time I do get, I usually spend writing and reading to keep me sane. Oh, and I'm originally from Germany but live in the US now. ;)

Alanna:  Wow, Germany! That's fascinating. I'm glad to learn something new about you. Did you always want to be an author?

Jasmin: Ha, no. I actually didn't really start writing until I started on Wattpad last year.

Alanna: You're a mom. You have two kids plus a cute newborn. I can imagine how hectic it gets. How do you make time to write?

Jasmin: Oh yes, they like to keep me busy day and night. I usually write when they are asleep because that's the only time I can somewhat focus (if I'm not too tired that is). lol

Alanna: You have published 11 stories on Wattpad. That's amazing! What inspires you to write and what keeps you going?

Jasmin: Ideas just pop into my mind. It's almost like the first story I wrote opened up a huge creative box in my brain. I just wish I could write as fast as the ideas keep coming. Lol. But regarding inspiration, it's nothing and everything. I don't have anything specific that inspires me. Sometimes ideas just randomly pop into my mind, other times when I'm reading a book or listen to a song. It's all around us which can sometimes be beautiful and maddening at the same time.

Alanna: Interesting. How did the idea of your first story came to mind? Did you plan it or did something magical happen?

Jasmin: Maybe a little bit of both. An idea popped into my mind while I was reading a book and the rest kind of just kept coming to me over time.

Alanna: You currently have thousands of followers, and you are blasting at the top of the Hot lists in Romance, Chicklit, and Short Story. How did you earn that kind of fame? Please share the experience of your hard work.

Jasmin: Haha, I wouldn't call it fame, but thanks. I don't think I did anything special. I just kept writing stories, reading other people's stories, and interacting with other writers and readers. I think being social on Wattpad makes a big difference and being genuine about it even more so.

Alanna: Were there any members who supported and encouraged you during your writing process on Wattpad? Were you inspired by other authors? If so, who are they and how did they inspire you?

Jasmin: I've made many, many wonderful author friends on wattpad, and they all inspire me in some way. I think with every piece we read, we can learn something. Sometimes it's an idea, the kind of writing that we enjoy, or maybe something that we don't enjoy. I believe it all helps us at the end to become better writers.

Alanna: A lot of users are struggling on Wattpad. Can you please share some tips on the ladder of success to them.

Jasmin: I think a lot of writers get discouraged easily and quickly. Then there are expectations that are set too high that can put a damper on everything too. Keep it simple, write that story that you want to write because you want to write it and because you love the characters so much. Writing a book is a huge deal, so don't stress over it too much and be happy with what you accomplish. Another big problem is that people think it needs to be perfect. And I get that, I really do, but the first draft is supposed to be for getting that idea out of your head and onto paper. A lot of really big and successful authors say that they'd never show anyone their first draft, so we should be proud of ourselves for putting those stories out there. Always remember that. Go read your chapter again, maybe fix some typos and weird sentences, and then move on and write the rest of that story. <3

Alanna: Do you want to add anything?

Jasmin: Believe in yourself and keep writing if that's what you want to do. Your writing gets better with every story, with every chapter you write. And most importantly, enjoy it. Enjoy the heck out of writing and out of your story, and others will too. :D

Alanna: It was such an honour to have you here. Thank you for being awesome and agreeing to do this interview. Say hi to the kids.

Jasmin: Thank you so much for having me, it means a lot. And you bet I will, thank you.

That's a wonderful Interview, Jasmin. Thanks a lot for joining us. We're so lucky to have you here.
