Everyone sectioned off then, unsure who they could trust. Cassidy made it a point to keep everyone in sight, especially Victor.

Cora took my hand. "Alright... I say we make a break for it..." She whispered.

I looked around the room before whispering back. "What if the killer tries to stop us..?"

She raised her fists. "I'll kick their ass..."

"Guys, who do you-" Tim started, but Cora raised her hand, cutting him off. "Not a step closer, Ronald."

   Tim rolled his eyes. "Seriously?"

She pointed a finger at him. "As far as I know, you're the killer."

He gestured to us. "Maybe it was you guys."

Now I rolled my eyes. "Sorry to burst your bubble, Tim, but prison doesn't suit me."

"Alright... Then, who do you think did it?" He asked.

My eyes landed on Victor. "I have a few ideas..."

Cora looked to Monica then. "I think it was the new girl... She's to friendly... It's always the nice ones..."

"Hey, she would never do something like this." Tim defended.

Cora's eyes traveled back to Tim. "Maybe you two are in cahoots..."

Tim raised his arms. "Monica and I? Yeah right. She doesn't even know I exist..."

"It's the perfect cover." I said.

Tim stared us down for a long, tense minute, before Monica touched his arm, causing him to jump. "Don't kill me!" He yelled.

Monica took a step back. "Sorry, Tim, I didn't mean to scare you."

"Me? Scared? Im not scared of anything." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Nice try, Ronald." Cora said, patting his shoulder as she led me past them.

"I don't like this..." Ramsey said as we approached.

   Cora eyed her suspiciously. "Mhm..."

I glanced at her before returning my look to Ramsey. "How're you holding up?"

She shrugged. "My boss is dead, the killer is somewhere in this room, and I don't have my phone. How do you think I'm holding up?"

I let out a sigh. "That's fair... What are we gonna do?"

"I still say we make a break for it. I know you're not the killer and you know I'm not the killer, we'd be better off escaping while we still can." Cora said.

"Cora, Victor is literally tied to a chair, we just need to find a way to get the cops here." I replied.

"How do you know Victor is the killer?" She asked.

I looked over to him. "Because... He's creepy..."

Cora rolled her eyes. "Exactly. It's to easy. I've seen enough movies to know it's never-"

Before Cora could finish, the lights went out again.

I grabbed her hand as we heard shuffling, then a loud yell.

When the lights came back on this time, Victor was dead in the chair. Cassidy and Ramsey stood next to his corpse, Monica and Tim nowhere to be found.

"I told you." Cora said as she led me to the others.

"Where's Tim and Monica?" Ramsey asked.

We all looked around, but they weren't in the office.

   "They're fleeing." Cassidy said.

"We have to stop them." Cora added.

We all shared a look and a nod before quickly making our way to the elevator.

I looked up at the numbers above the doors. "They got off on the twentieth floor."

Cora rapidly pressed the button. "Why aren't they leaving?"

"Maybe they wanna finish the job. No witnesses." Ramsey replied.

Finally, the elevator doors opened and we all piled on, Cassidy pressing the button for the twentieth floor. "Not if I have something to say about it."

The rest of us shared uneasy glances as the elevator made its decent.

Eventually, it dropped us off on the twentieth floor and we all hesitantly stepped out into the dark office.

"I can't see anything..." Cora whispered.

"We need to find a flashlight or something." Ramsey said.

"Is there a supply closet around here?" I asked.

"Yeah, follow me." Cassidy said, leading us slowly down a dark hallway.

My heartbeat quickened with every step we took, Cora's hand tightly locked in mine.

"I knew it... It's always the nice ones..." Cora whispered.

I rolled my eyes this time. "We don't know it's them, yet."

"They fled, who else could it be?" Ramsey asked.

Cassidy suddenly stopped, opening one of the many doors lining the hallway. She reached inside and pulled out two flashlights.

I took one, turning it on. "Ok, now what do we do?"

Cassidy turned hers on. "We split up."

Ramsey nodded. "We can cover more ground that way."

Cora let out a long sigh. "Have none of you ever seen a horror movie? That's literally the worst thing we can do."

"We don't have a lot of options here." Cassidy defended.

"Look, we'll stay in groups of two. Cassidy and I will go this way, you and Alisa can go that way. We'll meet back here in twenty minutes." Ramsey said.

I looked to Cora then. "These walls are thin. If anything goes wrong, we'll just yell."

"And we'll come running." Cassidy added.

Cora shook her head. "Fine, let's go."

She took my hand and led me down the hallway, Cassidy and Ramsey making their way down the opposite side.

I moved the flashlight over our surroundings, my eyes taking in every inch, my senses on high alert.

"This is a stupid idea..." Cora said.

"I know... But, like you said, you're the only one I trust. We're better off on our own." I replied.

She stopped, turning to me. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise."

I gave her a little smile, her protectiveness causing me to blush. "Thanks..."

She returned my smile, leaning in for a sweet kiss. "Don't mention it."

Then, we turned, continuing on our way... Only to bump right into Tim and Monica.

I let out a yelp, punching Tim right in the big, red clown nose.

He fell back on the floor, Monica kneeling down next to him. "What the hell was that for?" Tim asked.

"You guys killed Victor." Cora accused.

   "No we didn't." Monica defended.

"When the lights went out again, we took the opportunity and ran." Tim added.

Cora folded her arms over her chest. "Likely story."

Before Tim and Monica could defend themselves any further, we heard another loud yell ring out from somewhere in the office.

We all shared a frightened look.

   "We told you." Tim said.

"Now is definitely not the time for 'I told you so.'" Cora said.

"We have to find them." Monica said.

I looked to the elevator. Escape was so close. "You're right... Let's go..."
