Terror filled the young Eevee's eyes. Why was she seeing this?

I thought I couldn't see? So why can I suddenly see this...crazy monster? She wondered, starting to shake.

She didn't waste her time screaming for help while running away from a demon of unimaginable horror.

"Get away from me!" She wailed, not understanding why she could see this when everything else was black.

The darkness. It must have invited these glowing creatures. They weren't even Pokémon. They were a creature she didn't understand. They weren't even human either.

Her gaze couldn't focus on evading these creatures. She wanted to just run away.

"Leave me alone!!!" She snarled, tears starting to show in her eyes. Or so she thought. "I've done nothing to you!"

She kicked up some sand, knocking it into...nothingness. Didn't even hit them.

She backed away, blackness surrounding her. Fear in her eyes.

The glowing creatures smirked at her.

"You can't run from us. Even if you can't see us, we're always there." One said.

She shook her head, shivering with fright.

What was this? Why were they after her? She was just a four year old Eevee, what could they possibly gain from this?

She backed away into the blackness, praying for a miracle.

Her foot hit something, but it wasn't there. It was within the blackness. Whatever it was, she couldn't see it. All she could see was these things, baring their dark orange fangs at her with hatred.

They were about as big as a Boltund, but black, with spooky yellow eyes.

They look like dead Boltund, the young Eevee noted, ears falling to blend in with her head as she tried to shrink within the ground.

Cornered.

She was cornered.

She couldn't fight these things. She barely even knew how to fight. The only attack she knew how to use correctly was Sand Attack, which was practically a worthless move right now if she couldn't use anything else.

She started to whimper.

They were right. She couldn't run from them.

One was about to sink their illuminating orange fangs into her flesh before a loud call warded them off somehow.

"Azaria?! Azaria, are you alright? I heard screaming," a soothing voice commented as the Boltund shaped creatures vanished into thin air.

Azaria's ears twitched.

Wh-what? Why do they want me if a voice sends them off? Azaria thought as rapid footsteps increased in length.

They slowed and a familiar scent filled the air.

Mother, Azaria thought with relief as she carefully took a step forward, swiveling her ears around to hear for those scary Boltund hounds.

She was grabbed by something fluffy. She recognized it as a paw due to its feel.

She was pressed against something warm: her mother.

She purred softly, rubbing up against her mother's stomach with a cheek.

"I'm glad you're here. There was some scary monsters here, but they disappeared once you got here," Azaria informed, continuing to rub her cheek against her mother's belly.

Azaria could smell her mother's concern.

"Monsters? I didn't see anything when I was searching for you. Are you okay?" The fluffy Eeveelution questioned.

Azaria felt a paw being pressed against her head.

She jerked quickly away from it. She didn't question her actions either. She just didn't want to be touched by her mother.

"I saw them, mommy! I couldn't see anything else, but I saw them!" Azaria barked.

Aren't you proud? I saw somethings for once. Even if they are scary I still saw them.

Azaria waited for her mother's answered.

Her ears flicked from one side to the other, anxiety flashing in her eyes.

Just say something! Jeez! It's not like I'm Arceus telling you to make an important choice here! Sheesh.

Azaria's annoyance with her mother didn't last much longer as her mother remarked, "I'm calling your father. There's something wrong with you."

That was some way to be blunt.

Azaria's eats flattened.

"There's nothing wrong with me! I saw something for once in my life! You should be proud of me!" She snarled.

Instantly, her mother jumped in the air, or she assumed she did.

She was away from her in a matter of seconds.

"You saw something....something that I didn't see." Her mother barked, obviously trying to figure something out.

Azaria yipped a conformation.

"There was nothing else. They appeared to look like black Boltund with luminating yellow eyes and orange glowing fangs!" Azaria provided.

Her mother shook her head. She smelled of sorrow.

"Why are you sad mommy?" She asked.

For a second she detected fear in her mother's scent, but it went away.

She couldn't see her mother's face, but she knew something was going on, but what.

Is there seriously something wrong with me? Something that makes my mother afraid of me? But why? I am a cute little Eevee, and her daughter. Why is she scared of me?

A soft whine rose in her throat.

Whatever it was, it must be bad.
