"Dev, Sita Ram ki shaashvat jodi dekh jeevan safal pratit hota hai." Amarsri said.

"Satya vachan." Srinav smiled.

When that blessed night of wedding is elapsed into the wee hours of next day, Brahmarishi Vishvamitra asked for leave of absence from Dasharath and Janak, and from both Shri Ram and Lakshman. The revered sage then set out to northern mountains, the Himalayas.

After Vishwamitra left, Dashrath also seeked permission from Janak to leave for Ayodhya. Thus the king of Mithila, gave innumerable patrimonial riches in gold, silver, pearls and corals to the king of Ayodhya.

Having given many kinds of bridal gifts and having accompanied his daughters for a distance, then having received a bid adieu from Dasharath, Janak, re-entered is own palace in Mithila.

The royal entourage started their journey back to Ayodhya with their daughter in laws. The sun was shining brightly in the sky, as if gleaming after seeing the beautiful pairs of the newly-weds.

But on the way suddenly the sky-bound birds started to screech with startling voice from all around facing Dasharath, as if trying to convey something, which the Rajarshi understood well.

"Kulguru, pakshiyo ka aisa swar anuchit hai. Mera hridaye baitha jaa raha hai. Aisa kyu ho raha hai ?" The perplexed Dashrath asked Vasisth.

"Kisi ke aane ka sanket hai. Kintu yeh anumaan lagana kathin hai ki uss vyakti ka aagman humare hit mei hai ya ahitkaari hai." Vasisth said.

While they are discussing among themselves, a whirlwind started to whirligig there, as though to shake the earth and shatter all gigantic trees.

Murkiness enshrouded the sun, one couldn't even tell which prahar it was, a sandstorm enwrapped the army, by which it has become as though ensorcelled.

Vasisth and other sages along with Dashrath and the princes were the only ones with sense of motion while the rest seemed to have become inanimate.

And in that catastrophic darkness appeared the annihilator of Kshatriya pride, born in the lineage of Bhrighu, the son of Jamdagni, the student of Mahadev himself, Parshuram.

He appeared calamitous in his look by wearing tufty matted and unruly head-hair. He clinched the infamous Vidyudabhi axe on his right shoulder and clasped a bow in his left hand.

Seeing Parshuram, who was flaming like the fire of yagya, Vasisth and other Brahmans came forward and greeted him with respect.

"Kya yeh aaj bhi Kshatriya-naashak hai jaise pehle the ? Kya yeh aaj bhi Kshatriyo ka naash karne aaye hai ?" Some Brahmans whispered among themselves.

On receiving the deference paid by the sage Vasisth, the inexorable Ram of Jamadagni started to talk to Ram of Dasharath.

"Hey Veer Dashrath putra Ram, maine tumhare veertapurn karyo ke baare mei bhi suna hai. Jis prakaar tumne Shiv Dhanush ko toda woh avishwasniya pratit hota hai. Iss liye mai tumhe yeh Vaishnav dhanush, jo swayam Narayan ka Dhanush hai, jo mujhe apne Pitashree Jamdagni se praapt huya tha, woh deta hu aur iski pratyancha apne kaano tak kheech, mujhe apna Parakram dikhao." Parshuram told.

Shri Ram raised his brow at the demeaning tone of voice, coming from such a revered sage god. Parshuram himself fitted an arrow on the bow, as if the son of Dashrath couldn't do it by himself.

"Tumhare liye maine iss par teer bhi chadha diya. Mai tumhare lakshya bhedan ko parakhunga. Yadi tum yogya veer huye toh mai tumhe dwand ka awaar dunga." Parshuram said with sense of pride lacing his voice.

On hearing these words from the fearsome son of Jamdagni himself, Dashrath became pitiable. With downcast face and joined hands he begged in front of Parshuram.

"Prabhu, kya aap woh avinaashi tapasvi Brahman nahi jinka krodh Kshatriyo ke prati bahut poorva shaant ho chuka tha ? Kya aap woh Bhrighu ke vanshaj nahi jinhone Akhand Maharani ko vachan diya tha ki aap Kshatriyo ka sanghaar nahi karenge ? Mere putro par apne krodh ki nahi, apetu aashirwad ki varsha kare." Dashrath said.

But the words of Dashrath or rather pleads for mercy were uncared for by Parshuram, as he addressed Ram and Ram alone.

"Apni yogyata se mujhe parichit karao Ram. Mai bhi toh dekhu ek Kshatriya mei itna bal kaise ki Mahadev ka Dhanush tod de. Teer chadhao, pratyancha kheecho aur laksh saadho, yadi karne ka samarth hai toh mai tumhe dwand ka avsar du." Parshuram said with pride, Shri Ram clenched his fists.

"Jamdagneya, aapke shaurya aur parakramo ka hum sammaan karte hai. Kintu mujhe neecha dikhana, jaise ki mai ek bhayebhit tucch hu jo Vaishnav Dhanush ko sambhalne mei asamarth hai, vyarth hai. Abhi parichaye deta hu meri veerta ka." Shri Ram told as everyone around them froze in time.
