Shri Ram, Lakshman and Devi Sita spent the next 10 years travelling around Dandakaranya, living in the ashrams of various rishis, providing them protection from the rakshasas. Then one day while going to south, they reached Rishi Agatsya's ashram.

Rishi Agatsya provided them with warm hospitality and blessed Shri Ram with advanced weapons. He also gave him a piece of advice.

"Ram, sadev woh karna jo Sita chaahti ho. Uss Nari ne tumhare prati apne prem ke karan yeh kathinayiyo se pari-purn jeevan swikar kiya hai. Sita jaisi streeya durlabh hoti hai jo sukh-samridhhi ka jeevan ek kshan mei tyaag de apne pati ke liye." Agatsya said.

He also suggested them to go to Panchvati, a place near Jansthaan to spend the rest of their days of exile. The three took their leave from there and went to mentioned place.

Panchvati was a beautiful place, it was by the side of river Godavari. On the way they met Gidd-raj Jatayu, the son of charioteer of Suryadev Arun, who was also the elder brother of Garud. Jatayu introduced himself as an old friend of Dashrath.

In Panchvati they set up a thatched Hut, a Parnakuti, hoping to spend the last years of their vanvas in peace. It was the month of Paush, the weather had started to get chilly. And it made Lakshman sad as he laid his emotions in front of Shri Ram.

"Bharat Bhaiya satya mei Devaatma hai. Jis vyakti ne jeevan bhar Raaj-si sukh bhoga woh apne bade bhai ke liye sab tyaag ke tapasvi jeevan ke sangharsh ko aalingan de, aisa vyakti durlabh hota hai. Paush ke maah ki thand mei woh kaise Sarayu mei snaan karte honge ? Kaisa bhojan grahan karte honge ? Mujhe yeh chinta kar dukh hota hai." Lakshman said.

"Lakshman, mujhe bhi Bharat jaise Dharmatma bhai se punah milne ki iccha sataye rehti hai. Bas shigreh yeh vanvaas purn ho aur hum sab punah ek saath rahe." Shri Ram said.

"Satya vachan bhaiya. Mujhe toh samajh nahi ata ki jiska Pati sarvottam Dashrath ho, jiska putra Dharmaatma Bharat ho, woh stree itni nirdayi kaise ho sakti hai ?" Lakshman said.

"Lakshman, majhli Mata Kaikeyi ke baare mei yeh vachan ashobhniya hai. Tum Bharat ki prasansha awashya karo, kintu Mata Kaikeyi ki avhelna na karo. Dekha nahi tha ki woh Chitrakoot mei kaise ro rahi thi ?" Shri Ram said, to him slanderous talks about mothers were intolerable.

"Kshama kare bhaiya, jaise aapko Matao ki avhelna asahniya hai, mujhe aapke saath huya anyaye asahaniya hai." Lakshman said.

"Mai jaanta hu Lakshman, tumhare vachan mere prati prem aur chinta se utpann hote hai." Shri Ram said keeping his hand over his younger brother affectionately.

Even Shri Ram desired to go to Ayodhya and unite with his brothers, mothers, bandhu-jans and live a happy life. But now he didn't complain, because he was happy in the forest also by the side of his wife.

At this point, being so long in each other's company and being so immersed in love, they both didn't even need words to communicate their feelings.

Shri Ram and Devi Sita used to speak with eyes and listen with heart. Her absence even for a second made him restless. Shri Ram wanted his dear wife to forever stay in front of his eyes.

And there was just one thing, he spoke to her at every chance he got.

"Praan-priya Sitey, tumhare bina toh mujhe swarg bhi nahi chahiye."

This is like the only time Lakshman ji gets emotional and hence I decided to show.

Lakshman ji said a lot about Bharat and held grudges.... But it's a fact that even after years, he didn't got emotional for Shri Ram. He got emotional for Bharat.

And in a way we can related to that, feeling angry at injustice that happened to Shri Ram, feeling sad at Bharat's situation and feeling helpless at Mata Sita's condition.....

Because whatever happened to the 'protagonists' of Ramayan.... We can say it for a fact they didn't deserve it.
