Shri Ram was studying the Vedas while Rameshwari had fallen asleep in his lap, curling up in a ball. Her head rested carefully next to his chest while her little fingers wrapped around his pearl necklaces.

His one arm was wrapped around her figure which he had covered with his angvastra. Peaceful silence was prevalent in the room, occasionally interrupted gently by the turning of pages.

Suddenly a pratihari entered the room, causing Shri Ram to look at him.

"Maharaj, kuch mantri aapse milne ki aagya chaahte hai." He said.

"Aagya hai. Unhe andar bhej de." Shri Ram said.

And so few ministers entered, their eyes first fell on the princess who was sleeping peacefully in the arms of her father.

"Kahiye Mantrivar." Shri Ram said softly.

"Pranaam Maharaj !" They bowed.

A frown appeared on the face of Rameshwari, as she stirred in her sleep. But Shri Ram kept his hand over her head, saving her slumber.

"Thoda aahiste bole Mantrivar." He urged.

"Kshama Maharaj." They apologized.

"Kis karan ana huya ?" Shri Ram asked.

And hence they began discussing over, some crucial matters. The ministers were amazed at how even with his daughter in his arms, he is properly paying attention to them, and also giving his insights on the matter.

After the ministers were done discussing and were clear of their doubts, they took their leave. They were completely impressed by their king.

"Hum toh vyarth hi chinta kar rahe the."

"Maharaj ko Rajkumari ka dhyaan rakhne hetu kisi anya ki awashyakta nahi. Woh swayam hi samarth hai."

"Ha. Mere anusaar woh anyo ko keval iss liye dhyaan rakhne dete hai unki putri ka kyuki sab Rajkumari se atyant prem karte hai. Kintu Maharaj kisi par nirbhar nahi."

"Satya-vachan."

The ministers said amongst themselves. They had a smile adorning their bright faces as their doubts had been cleared and now they were not at all worried for the kingdom.

They had accepted that as long as Maharaj Ram Chandra has the reins of Kosal, no harm can happen to the citizens even in the slightest. They became tension free.

Now the only one who was not tension free was Shri Ram, as the Raj-vaid was checking Rameshwari, who was lying on the bed.

"Bukhaar toh utar jana chahiye tha." He muttered.

"Koi rog toh nahi jakad liya Ramey ko ?" Shri Ram asked worriedly.

"Kisi rog ke lakshan toh nahi hai. Lekin bukhaar utra nahi. Mai kuch aur aushadhi deta hu, usse awashya prabhaav padega. Kal tak dekhte hai, Maharaj." Raj-vaid said.

He took some herbs out from his bundle and gave them to Shri Ram, telling him how and when to give them to Rameshwari.

The Raj-vaid took his leave and Shri Ram looked at his daughter, her breathing was heavy, cheeks were red, and forehead had beads of sweat.

The self-induced divine fever had taken a toll on her four year old, human-self. She was in and out of the bouts of unconsciousness.

"Ramey ? Putri Pitashree ki oor dekho." Shri Ram said.

But she just hummed in response, too drained to open her eyes and also not able to comprehend what he said.

'Savere kam se kam mujhe pakadne ki shakti toh thi, abhi toh dekh bhi nahi rahi..... Kya karu ? Kal tak ki pratiksha ? Ya Hanuman se keh Himalaye se koi jadi-booti mangwayu ?' Shri Ram wondered as he worriedly looked at her.

"Hey Mahadev, sahayata kijiye." He muttered joining his hands.

And his plea for help was heard clearly by the lord of Kailash, who didn't waste a moment before opening his eyes from his meditation and standing up, grabbing his Trishul.

"Kaha chale swami ?" Mata Parvati asked, although knowing the answer.

"Gauri, jab Ram bulaye toh Rameshwar kaise na jaye ?" Mahadev smiled.
