Shri Ram, mounted on the Pushpak vimaan, searched everywhere in the western wastelands on the kingdom. Not finding any indiscretion there he turned to the northern quarter, which is bounded by the Himalayas.

Not finding even the most minor transgression there also, Shri Ram inspected the entire eastern region as well.

Then the son of Kaushalya traversed the southern quarter of the Kosal kingdom, where he saw a very large lake on the northern slopes of Mount Shaivala.

Close to the lake, Shri Ram noticed an ascetic meditating upside down while performing very severe austerities. That seemed odd to him, but also impressive.

The astonished king of Kosal, decided to approach the sage.

"Hey punyatma, aap kaun hai ? Aisi bhishan tapasya karne wale aap kis Varn ke hai ? Aur Kis manorath se tapasya kar rahe hai ? Mai, Dashrath-nandan Ram, jigyasa-vash puch raha hu. Kya aap Brahmin ya Kshatriya hai ? Kahi aap Vaishya ya Shudra toh nahi ? Aap jis bhi Varn ke hai aur jis karan se tapasya kar rahe hai, kripya mujhe satya bataye." Shri Ram.

At that the ascetic opened his eyes, and looked at Shri Ram and addressed him, still staying upside down.

"Mera naam Shambuk hai, aur mai shudra varn ka hu. Mai iss liye tapasya kar raha hu, jisse mujhe iss tan mei hi devatwa praapt ho. Devatwa ki shakti se mai swarg par apna adhipatya sthapit karunga. Mujhe iss deh mei reh kar hi devta banna hai." Shambuk said.

And that's when Shri Ram drew his spotless and brightly gleaming sword from its sheath and cut off the head of Shambuk, for his wish to attain deity hood and conquering heavens while still being in that very body was against the laws of nature for anybody.

A great shower of flowers made up of extremely fragrant and heavenly blossoms fell on all sides, scattered by the wind.

Now that Shambuk was slain, the gods with Indra in forefront came in front of Shri Ram, praising him, for fulfilling his Raj-dharma even in such a situation.

"Yogasth Buddhi ke adhikaari Shri Ram, aapne hum devtao ki oor se iss Shambuk ka vadh kiya hai. Kripiya koi vardaan maange, kyuki aapke karan, prakriti ka niyam bhang nahi huya." Indra said.

After listening with great concentration to the speech of the gods, Shri Ram joined his hands in reverence and addressed the king of gods.

"Hey Devraj, yadi devta mujhse prasann hai, toh kripiya uss Dwij Brahmin ka putra punah jeevit ho jaaye. Meri bhul ke karan, uss balak ko akaal mrityu praapt huyi, kripiya uske praan lauta de, jisse mera diya huya vachan safal ho jaaye." Shri Ram said.

"Hey Shri Ram, woh balak toh uss hi kshan jeevit jo gaya tha, jis kshan aapne iss Shambuk ka vadh kiya. Aapka kalyaan ho !" Indra said.

Now is it clear, why Shri Ram killed Shambuk ? It's not because of his caste. It's because what he wanted as a boon.

NO ONE CAN OBTAIN DEITY HOOD WITH THIS VERY BODY ! NO ONE CAN HAVE SWARG WITH THIS VERY BODY !

Similar to Shambuk's wish was the wish sought after by Shri Ram's ancestor Trishanku, who wanted to enjoy the pleasures of swarg with the material body.

What was the fruit ? Poor king was stuck midair, for the gods weren't letting him come up and Vishwamitra wasn't letting him come down.

Hence the kahawat, "Trishanku bane latke ho."

So conclusion is that Shambuk, first didn't foresake the sansarik bandhan at all, secondly his wish would've unravelled chaos.

Because we have seen what happens when someone else sits on Indrasan be it Asuras or even Nahush, the husband of Devi Ashok Sundari.....

Like it or not.... INDRA IS INDRA FOR A REASON.... That too a good one ✨
