MALFOY MANOR, EXTERIOR

We hear the sound of a rumbling motorcycle. HARRY drives onto the stage looking more at ease on the bike than in previous scenes, wearing goggles, a pair of driving gloves, and a sun-bleached, brown leather jacket. He parks between the tall hedges of Malfoy Manor. DRACO is already there, arguing with PERCIVAL who is standing in the doorway. Nearby, we see ETHEL with a Daily Prophet REPORTER and PHOTOGRAPHER. At the top of the front steps, RON stands beside a contrite-looking SCORPIUS.

DRACO: I DEMAND you stand aside, Clearwater... Stand aside, now...

DRACO turns to ETHEL, who crosses her arms in defiance.

You would be well-advised to do the same.

DRACO spins on his heels. He glares at RON.

And close your mouth when you're looking at me, Weasley. You're breathing slightly too close to my face.

RON shakes his head and leads SCORPIUS down the set of steps, as HARRY approaches. RON hesitates, seeming to wonder which end of the front steps is worse. HARRY removes his goggles and gloves. He waits by the steps with an irritated expression. RON makes it a point to stand directly between HARRY and SCORPIUS. He sways back and forth nervously. HARRY never makes eye contact.

RON (to HARRY, gesturing to the motorcycle): Wasn't there a sidecar on that thing?

HARRY (dry): It was lost. Same time we lost Moody... Hedwig.

RON: Polyjuice Battle — right. I got to walk a mile in your shoes for a bit.

Pause.

Or, rather, fly a mile.

A longer pause.

Hagrid's letting you keep that, is he?

HARRY (drier than dry): It was never his to begin with and it's the least he can bloody do for telling Albus about the Time-Turner.

RON: You know Hagrid, Harry. He didn't do it intentionally.

HARRY looks at RON, his gaze venomous. RON lowers his head and shuffles aside. The arguing continues unabated in the doorway.

DRACO: This act is a breach of my rights. The International Confederation of Wizards can have you removed. Let me pass or I'll send an owl to the Supreme Mugwump herself!

PERCIVAL: You should. Maybe she'll come!

DRACO: Percy Weasley. I'm being bossed around by Percy Weasley.

PERCIVAL: It's Clearwater, and I'm Minister for Magic.

As DRACO prepares a witty comeback, the door swings open behind them and three tall, red-haired men pass through BILL WEASLEY, CHARLIE WEASLEY, and GEORGE WEASLEY. RON joins them beside PERCIVAL, and all the Weasley men stand proud. The PHOTOGRAPHER snaps a picture.

REPORTER (to DRACO): Mister Malfoy. A word?

DRACO: Don't waste your time, love.

SCORPIUS reenters Malfoy Manor. DRACO follows, his gaze burning the back of PERCIVAL's head.

REPORTER (to PERCIVAL): Sorry, but this raid —

ETHEL: Sir.

REPORTER: Sorry, sir, but there's only five of you? And on such a significant raid.

GEORGE: The Weasleys. The family you can always rely on to get the job done.

PERCIVAL: Thanks to my brilliant preparation work.

REPORTER: Charlie Weasley! Didn't imagine seeing you here.

CHARLIE: Bit different than facing a Swedish ShortSnout, but...

PERCIVAL: ...but family matters require our attention.

CHARLIE nods at BILL, who reveals the Golden Snitch. He hands it to PERCIVAL, who transfigures the Golden Snitch back into the Time-Turner. The PHOTOGRAPHER takes another picture.

REPORTER: Involving your siblings rather than Ministry employees. Why?

PERCIVAL: Could've personally handled the job, but it felt important to send an owl — let my brothers know what I'm doing, you know?

DRACO (from off): You only had to break several laws to do so!

PERCIVAL: Sometimes costs are made to be borne.

Beat, he grins proudly for the camera. BILL doesn't look so proud.

But it was me who sought the Time-Turner from Draco Malfoy and me who acted upon it. I merely stood guard while my brothers entered the property to retrieve the device.

REPORTER: Under your express instructions, of course.

ETHEL: Indeed.

REPORTER: What will you do with it?

BILL: It will be destroyed. It has caused enough damage.

BILL trounces down the stairs. He stops to look carefully at HARRY. Before BILL can speak, there is a cracking sound and DELPHI appears on stage within the hedges. BILL exits along with RON, who gives DELPHI a scathing look. She ignores them.

DELPHI (expectantly, to HARRY): The Time-Turner?

HARRY: Back in possession. I'll allow Percy this victory, but I'm not through with Draco. He knows more than he's letting on. Him and that... son...

DELPHI looks closely at HARRY who has never appeared more dangerous. He is glaring at the open front door.

DELPHI: I think we should leave before you do something you shouldn't do.

HARRY doesn't respond.

Let's bring you home. You could spend some time with Lily and James.

HARRY: They are with their Uncle Dudley. He was waiting on the platform, King's Cross side.

HARRY turns his eyes away from Malfoy Manor. The shell HARRY built around himself seems to be cracking.

The last place I want to be is... home. It's not home anymore. Not without them.

DELPHI: I'm sorry, Harry.

HARRY: Don't be sorry. Be impatient. Until we stop the Augurey, nowhere is safe. Nowhere is home.

They pause and watch as PERCIVAL continues answering questions.

Any — news? Any owls or...?

DELPHI: None. Not officially, that is.

HARRY faces her for the first time since her arrival. His expression urges her to go on.

Well, the reason I'm late — and you know I hate to be late to this sort of thing — but the matter we've been discussing...

HARRY: Amycus Carrow.

DELPHI: Harry, I think I know where he is. Our lead on Knockturn Alley panned out again.

HARRY: Amycus. And where there's one...

DELPHI: ...there's usually another.

HARRY: Excellent work, Delphi.

DELPHI: I'm happy to do it — grateful even —

HARRY: If we can get the Carrows to talk, their entire operation could topple. The Tempest will fall. And I'll be there to watch it happen.

DELPHI: You're scary when you're in a good mood, you know that?

HARRY: You have a location?

She nods.

Take me there.

DELPHI (gesturing to the motorcycle): How? With that?

HARRY: Get on back.

The others watch as the two of them drive off, the abrupt rumble of the motorcycle filling the auditorium. The gradually tilting heads of everyone left on stage tell us that the motorcycle has taken flight.

ETHEL: Strange pair, they are.

PERCIVAL (his voice thick with suspicion): Undeniably.
