From Latin: ascendere= to climb

Ascendio is the incantation of a spell that hurls the caster high into the air. The spell also works under water, lifting the caster above the water's surface.
Newt Scamander used this spell on a book pillar in the library of the French Ministry of Magic in September 1927 to help him, Tina Goldstein and Leta Lestrange escape from a pack of angry Matagots who were out to get them.
