"What the hell are you doing in my house?" The tension in the air was thick. I turned around to see my Dad staring at us with a look of anger, hatred and disbelief. I knew how much my father didn't like Kyle, since he banned him from coming home, but I just never expected it to still be this intense. I mean, he would always be his son, so why the unchanging hate? More reason I was shocked is the fact that my father came home. I thought he wasn't back from his 'business trip' yet?

"Michael—" My mother started, a look a fear on her face, as if she had already known what would happen next. But she was cut short by my dad.

"Shut up, woman!" His voice thundered, anger obvious on his face. This made my mum to take a cautious step backwards. He then faced kyle again, staring at him with a look of disgust.

"Don't speak to her like that." Kyle said, stepping forward. His bold action probably surprised my dad because he gave a wicked laugh and started to walk towards Kyle slowly.

I expected Kyle to back out or something, but he stood there without moving an inch, even with my dad still walking towards him. I suddenly began to have a déjà vu of what happened three years ago. Then, Kyle had just come out to my parents, and while my mum seemed fine with it, we thought my dad was also, till he walked up to Kyle and gave him the beating of his life. Fourteen year old me was trying to be a man and stop my Dad, only to receive a blow on the head that knocked me out. I woke up hours later and there was no sign of Kyle or my Dad, only my mum crying beside me.

"Dad, stop." I said, while coming to stand in front of him. "He just came to see mum and—" I didn't see it fast enough to dodge it, or maybe I did see it but my brain just didn't understand what was happening fast enough to react. By the time my brain could process the action, my father's fist had already done the work. It swung with so much force, pushing me down to my knees.

"I can see he is influencing you too!" He shouted at me immediately I went down. As I raised my head up to say a word or two to defend myself and my brother, I was surprised as to what I saw, I didn't expect it coming. My Dad was kneeling beside me with blood rushing from his mouth and Kyle was on him throwing punches. It all happened so fast that I couldn't process it all. Mum started screaming but no one budged, it was like she wasn't even in the room, despite her pleas for the fight to come to an end. Yes, that was what exactly happened three years ago, except this time, I wasn't unconscious and Kyle was fighting back. Kyle, fighting back? That was new. He's so grown now that he could even defend himself. I was glad about that, but at the same time, I wondered if I was supposed to be happy about it or not, with the way he descended on my dad.

"Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on my brother!" Kyle shouted angrily as he continuously threw punches with each word that came out of his mouth. The look on his face was so bitter that even if I had originally planned to stop him, I would change my mind immediately. My dad did deserve the beating, I thought as I remembered seeing him with a lady at the restaurant couple of days back.

"Do something, Stiles!" My mother rushed over to me, shaking my shoulders.

"He deserves it, mum." I said, getting up. "Just a few more punches."

"A few more punches! Kyle would kill him, do something." Looking as Kyle kept punching my father's already bloody face, I rushed over to Kyle and pulled him up, before he kills the man.

"Lord, that felt good." Kyle said while bringing out a white handkerchief from his pocket and cleaning his hand, which was messed up with blood.

"You bastard!" Dad coughed out from his pity place on the floor. "Just wait till I call the cops." Cops? Does he think he can arrest Kyle, his very own son? Only because of his sexuality?

"Michael, please he is your son." Mum rushed over to Dad and knelt beside him, pleading with him.

"Don't you dare—" He was going to say, but I cut him short.

"Call the cops and I would let the whole town know that you are an adulterer." As soon as the words left my mouth, they turned to look at me. I didn't want to say it in a situation like this, but then, I didn't have any other choice. If I didn't talk then, issues might get out of hand.

"What are you saying, Stiles?" Mum asked, getting up. She spoke slowly like she wanted to be sure she heard the right words. I felt bad for her as a look of confusion and disappointment crossed her face.

"He has been cheating on you, Mum." I said, turning to face her squarely. Both Kyle and dad also stopped what they were doing to give me attention. Seeing that l was already given the right attention, I continued talking. "You see, those times he went on business trips has probably been spent in other women's bedroom."

"Mind what you're saying, son." He shot at me, looking from me to my mother and to me again, with a warning look on his face.

"I saw you with the woman, the one in the red dress." I said as I looked at him straight in the eyes to show that I knew what I was saying quite well, and that I wasn't accusing him falsely. "I am pretty sure the kiss you both shared doesn't have anything to do with business."

"You were following me?" He asked, rising up from the floor.

"You're not even denying it, you bastard!" Mum shouted. Kyle and I jumped back in surprise, we had never seen our Mum that pissed before. That was like the first time we'd see our mum that angry, and she'd scream that much. My mum was always calm in all situations, now she looked really angry. Finding out that the man she has been trying to please all her married life, has been cheating on her.

"It isn't like that—" Dad tried to say, but he was cut short by mum.

"It isn't like what? Get out of here now." Mum said, which shocked me. Yes, I knew mum would be so pissed but I didn't expect her to tell him to leave the house at that exact moment.

"What?"

"I said get out, get the fucking hell out of here!" She bent down, picked up her slippers and threw it at him. Quickly, my dad got up, picked his briefcase and walked out but not after sending Kyle and I a murderous look. We stood silently and listened to the sound of his car drive away, till we heard it no more.

"Mum, are you okay?" Kyle finally spoke.

"No, no I am not, not now, but..." She turned to look at us and laughed. "I sometimes suspected he was seeing other women before, and turns out he is. I just want to squeeze that neck of his till the blood comes out of his eyes. But enough of that, I will get better. Stiles?"

"Yes?"

"Clean that mess that he-goat left on my floor. It's your punishment for not telling me about this before. Kyle, order up some pizza, I am going to call my lawyer." She said and walked away, going up to her room.

"Do you think she would be fine?" I asked Kyle.

"Of course she would, she has us to look after her."

"And Mrs Bentley finally found her purse where she kept it. It was laying on her kitchen table. She promised herself to be more careful in the future and not to point accusing fingers at people she wasn't sure committed a crime."

"Mrs Bentley needs to be more careful in the future." Adrian said.

"Yes, she is really careless." Adrianna nodded in agreement.

"Well, she has learnt her lesson and she is lucky Officer Berky was kind enough to let her go and..." I was interrupted with my phone beeping. It was a message but from an unknown number. It was an address with a message telling me to come there.

Who are you?
I texted back. After a minute passed, the person replied.

It's Caroline.

Uggh, that Carolina fish.

What do you want?
I texted back.

If you are ready to start working on our project, then come over. i haven't got all day.

Blah blah blah, so she actually cares about her grades. I got up and left the twins, going to my room to grab a jacket and soon, I found myself in front of a mansion. It wasn't as big as Damon's own, but it was really big. I walked up to the door and before I could do anything, she had opened up.

"Hey you," she said, smiling sweetly.

'Hey you?' Since when did we enter the 'hey' level?

"Well, come in." She said and dragged me inside. At first, she didn't say a word, so everywhere was calm and silent. Few seconds later as we walked into her house, she began to speak with a serious look on her face. "I think it's such a good thing Mr Matthew paired us together. Damon is my best friend and your boy friend. We need to try to get along for his sake. Now, I admit I was a bitch when we first met but that was because I had a crush on Damon." We reached the spacious living room, and she gestured with her hand for me to sit down. "I was kind of heartbroken when I found out he was with someone else, that was why I was being all bitchy towards you." She sat down beside me. "But I have realized that it was wrong of me and unfair to you, and I was hoping we could put all our differences aside and try to get along, for Damon."

"Uhm, okay, I guess." I was surprised that all those words came out from her mouth, but Damon said she was his best friend and for Damon to like her, that must mean she wasn't so bad, right?

"Great, we should drink to this," She said excitedly and jumped up. "I will be right back."

I got a text from Damon seconds later, asking where I was. According to him, he had been at my house and was told I went out.

I am at Caroline's house, we are working on a project and trying to get along, I texted back.

"Okay, I am back." She said, walking over with two glasses in a tray.

My phone buzzed. It was probably Damon, but I chose to ignore it. Ever since we had sex, he had been demanding my attention 24/7 and I had been doing every possible thing to avoid it, and avoiding his texts by not replying immediately would help in reducing his want of attention always.

She put her right hand in her back pocket and pulled out a white container which contains a white powdered substance. She added a certain quantity in one of the glasses and used a spoon to mix it till it dissolved. Then, she placed it gently on a tray and walked towards the living room. She got to the sitting room and dropped the tray on one of the tables, the one closest to Simon.
"Okay, I am back," Caroline said and walked over to Simon, sat beside him and handed him the glass that contained the substance. She watched as he took a sip first, and smiled, probably liking what he tasted. She smiled to herself wickedly, and drank from her own cup, knowing fully well that nothing of such thing in Simon's drink was in hers. Alicia was a good friend after all, she thought. She made a mental note to call Alicia after she's done with what she was to do.
