-*Your POV*-

You were still pretty shaken from last nights events, but you did your best to shove all the thoughts into the back of your mind.
Nightmare.
The song.
Ladybug.
Kindle.
Everything.
Even though you weren't okay, you still molded that invisible mask onto your face and filed (fake smiled) to your mom the whole morning until school rolled around. You weren't sure if your mom remembered what happened last night, but you certainly didn't want remember.
Shoving the last spoonful of Cinnamon Toast Crunch into your mouth, you grabbed your bag and slipped into your galaxy tennis shoes.
"Y/n..." You quickly turned around to face your mom, who was standing in the kitchen, a gloomy look painted on her face.
"What is it, mom?"
"I just..." She paused for a second. "Do you think that... Maybe I could drive you to school today?"
That question stunned you. You took a moment to let the question sink in. Had she been missing you lately? Or was she mourning over your father, who died years ago?
You readjusted your bag and pulled out your cell phone. "Yeah, sure, mom. Adrien was going to drive me to school today, but you can drive me if you want."
All of a sudden mom started shaking her head no. "Oh, no, it's okay, honey. You can go with Adrien. I'll drop you off tomorrow, okay?"
You watched as she gently put a hand to her forehead. "M-mom, are you feeling okay?"
"Oh, I'm fine, honey. Don't worry about me. You go outside and wait for Adrien." She walked over to the kitchen table and took a seat, pulling out a bottle of Ibuprofen.
You bit your lip as you walked outside, making sure to lock the door as you left, and jumped down the stairwell, bursting through the doors and out into the coming morning air.
It felt like it had been forever since you had gone to school, you started to get flashbacks of back when you used to count the days of school... And Chloe. Meeting Adrien and Cat Noir for the first time... It all seemed so long ago...
Maybe it wasn't that long ago.
You ignored Nightmare, not wanting to talk to her and payed attention to the flashbacks speeding past you at the speed of light. You don't even notice it when someone with short blonde hair sits down next to you. "That's an awesome design. Are you an artist?" It was a boy. Oh dog, you'd never talked to a boy who hadn't laughed at you in fourteen years. You're eyes lift up slowly to greet a pair of enchanting neon green ones. "Uh.. Uh, yeah! I'm an artist... I like designing things." Stupid answer. You make a mental note to kick yourself for that later.
"That's super cool, I don't know a lot of designers other than my father. I'm Adrien." Adrien smiled such a warm smile that I felt a strong warmth behind my chest.
Oh no... You can feel your eyes go big and your face turning red hot. This isn't going to happen. I'm not EVER falling in love again! End this now, y/n!
You felt yourself blush. Too late for that.
A black paw hand came down by your face and you grabbed it, being pulled up by some mysterious stranger. You stood up and brushed yourself off then turned to say thank you, but stopped dead.
You were staring into the neon green eyes of an adorable black cat. His blonde hair was shining in the sun, and his black cat suit was shining the sun. He returned the stare, too.
Oh no.... You whispered in your head.
The first time you had met... It seemed... So long ago.
While you were deep in thought, you didn't even notice it when Adrien's limo pulled up. You were too lost in thought.
               "Hey, Y/n!"
Adrien's voice snapped you back into reality and you couldn't help but smile. He was leaning out of the limo door, waving at you. You ran over and were about to get into the car when Adrien swiftly picked you up and hugged you.
You were stunned for a moment, then hugged him back, never wanting to let go. He was now one of the only good things in life.
"Are you okay?" You heard him whisper in your ear. You were about to reply the same lie that you told everyone everyday, but you stopped, knowing you could trust him.
"If I told you how terrible life has been now, Adrien, we'd be here for a year." You felt him laugh against your hair and leaned back to kiss you. You kissed back.
Adrien rested his hand on your back brace and you tried not to wince against his mouth as pain spread slowly across your back.
You thought that would have healed by now...
Adrien grinned, and gripped your hand, leading you into the limo. You took a seat next to him and just as you were looking out the window, you almost swore you saw your mom watching you out the window, a wavering look cross her face.
But it disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.

-*Adrien's POV*-

The only thing that I truly even like about school is that I get to see my best friends and I get to learn the things I love learning about from an actual teacher, not some robot on an online school who keeps making typos. And not just in one paragraph of the assigned reading, in all of the fluffing sentences it types.
And the only other thing that sucks more than online schools, is Chloe.
Seriously, she kept texting me non-stop over the weekend. I definitely do not need another run-in with her at school.
But she's like a lost puppy, she's following me everywhere I go.
And I can tell that right now, Y/n isn't that happy about it.
"I can't take this anymore," Y/n told me as she whipped around, letting go of my arm, to face Chloe, with Sabrina hopping along behind her. "Chloe, don't you have anything better to do than follow Adrien around all day like a stalker?"
Chloe took one look over at Y/n, then shoved her into the lockers where she clutched onto the locks to keep from falling, staring at me, her eyes pleading do something!
But I didn't know what to do when Chloe clutched onto my arm and made kissy faces at me. "I don't know what you're talking about, Y/n. I'm just walking along with my boyfriend. Oh, and before you start thinking that you have the right to kiss him right before he drops you off at school," Chloe walked up to Y/n, who tried to show an expression of hatred but came off as scared and trying to hide it. "Keep in mind that he hasn't broken up with me yet, so I'm still his girlfriend, and you..." She grabbed Y/n by the collar of her purple galaxy shirt. "You're  just a little wanna-be who doesn't know when to quit."
I watched in horror as Chloe tossed Y/n onto the ground, and I reached out for her, but Chloe started dragging me away by my bag.
"Y/n! Wait!" I tried calling out, but Y/n just picked me up, recoiled, glanced at me, and ran in the opposite direction of me.
It felt as though every step she took crushed my heart a little bit more as I realized she was running away from me.
I knew that I had to do something about Chloe, I couldn't let her continue to hurt Y/n. Her past was bad enough.
She didn't need another burden she couldn't hold placed upon the towers already built on her shoulders. And I could see through her mask that she somehow seemed to hold throughout every single day.
Y/n was hurt. And tired. Tired of everything going on.
And I just prayed that I would be able to fix this.
