How did you find out about Wattpad?

It's actually a funny story (not really). It was a complete and total accident. I wasn't even searching for a site to write stories on our anything. I used to write on a site called storybird (I don't anymore) and it was SO SO ANNOYING. Literally, you couldn't write over 500 words  a chapter unless you paid for some membership thingy, you couldn't have anything mature in it, no killing or blood, and you had to wait for some person on the site to read your story before it could be published! So once one of my stories I had just finished had been in 'moderation' for two months and I was sick of it and stopped using the site, but I didn't delete my account, because I thought that sooner or later I would come back to it and start writing again. 

During this time, I was also running low on reading material. The only books I could get were from the library and it took forever for books to come to me because of all the holds. I had already read all the books in my house multiple times, and I was so so bored.

 At this time, I didn't even have a phone yet, so I couldn't entertain myself any other way. I had opened the computer and was about to re-enter storybird, but then I remembered the bad memories and refused to. So I was just scrolling through book covers on Google Images because I used to like to fantasize what my covers would look like, (on storybird the books didn't have covers) and found a book cover that really interested me. 

I clicked on it to maybe see if I could read a blurb on it, but to my surprise, it took me to this strange site called Wattpad. I quickly realized this was another writing site, and this one looked so much more professional. So, I quickly made an account and realized so many thing! You could make covers! Write bios! Create reading lists! Have a background to your profile! Custom profile pictures! Contests, Awards, and the Wattys and all the others listed above were such new concepts to me, because storybird had none of that! 

It was a long and slow process to learn all the ups and downs to Wattpad. I didn't know anybody else who used the site so I had to learn it all on my own. Back then I didn't know how to make covers or anything. Only OG people on my account remember my Linh profile pic, my plain background and my basically non-existent bio. They also remember my only book on said account, a measly two chapter book called Matchmaking 101 with a terrible blurb )that for some reason I still haven't changed.) and no cover, just your profile pic. 

Thank god I met SilverBeams (who was like my first friend on Wattpad and the first person who read my book), or else I think I would have gotten no views, no followers, no comments and then no more motivation to write more. So, thank you Silver! You have no idea how much it meant to me when I saw the 1 over the notification bell.
