A B O U T

Book 1 of 3 in the Head & Heart Series.

This story was previously known as 'The Suicide Note (where death meets love)' and the series was called The Mental Illness Series. However, with passing time I felt that such titles only added to the whole stigma around mental health instead of promoting healthy discussions which was not my intention. These new names for the books & the series is my little contribution in trying to create a safe space for everyone.

P L O T

This book is a work of fiction and is not based on any real people or locations. All historical references in this story are strictly fictional and do not represent any personal views. Any resemblance with people, living or dead, is merely a coincidence.

This book does not intend to hurt anyone's sentiments or to put suicide in a bright light. At the end of the day, it actually lowers the big, deep meaning of the word 'life' which we forget to value each day. 'The best way to escape a problem is to solve it, and not run away, because every problem is born with a solution.'

L O G I C

I'd argue that books and fiction, just like dreams, should be considered as an alternate reality because we spend more than 1/4th of our life reading, just like dreaming. And this thing called 'fiction' has become our bread and butter; though not monetarily but mentally.

After all this discussion I had with a friend (avismoon), this story has been put up here. Everything about this book is fictional. But you're warned well in advance, nothing's illogical. It may seem unrealistic at first, but later, you'll know that this book is based on science which says that everything has a logical reasoning; you just need to find it out.

Human psychology is a very complex structure made up of dreams, fears and emotions. Even if one element gets imbalanced, the enemy attacks. Well, the enemy is no other than the intrusive thought of suicide.

How many of you have had these depressing thoughts overtaking your mind and sucking in your daily routine like a parasite? We all have these problems, don't we? But what makes me proud of us is the fact that we haven't given up. After all that we've been through, we still get up every morning, ready to face a new challenge.

But not all can manage this. On average, 1 person commits suicide every 11 minutes.

I like the way Lewis Caroll has pointed out in his classic, 'Alice in Wonderland', "It's a poor sort of memory that only works backwards." After all, we all want our lives filled with moments worthy of being termed as a good memory.

So, today, let us make an attempt of waging a war against these suicidal thoughts and returning with victory. Will you be with me in this journey of defeating our inner monsters to uncover the hidden potential inside us?

B L U R B

They were always meant to be like the X and Y axis of a graph that intersected only at one point, the origin. Their destiny was written - together for one moment and never supposed to meet again.

But who knew, the Y axis would get so adamant and try to coincide itself with the X axis for togetherness till infinity, that he wouldn't even realize how this would put all other lines out of place and make the graph paper nothing but a green checkered page with scattered, meaningless lines?

[A story where a boy goes back in time to confess his love to his crush who killed herself and not to forget, his attempt to save her from death this time.]

To the ones who want to give up already; hold on a little longer, for only after passing through the heat of adversity is pure gold brought out.

This story contains mature themes of suicide, self harm & eating disorders. Headspace does not intend to promote / romanticize any of the above. It is a story about grief, recovery, acceptance and survival. Any comments that encourage or give instructions on self-harm will be removed and reported. Individual trigger warnings will be mentioned at the beginning of the chapters, wherever applicable.

- To all re-readers, please refrain from including spoilers in the comments.

- There are no graphic scenes described in this book to avoid it from becoming triggering. However, trigger warnings will be still be mentioned at the beginning of such chapters.

- I reply to all comments unless I haven't been notified about them. So, remember, you're never unwanted here.

- For people who are majorly awkward like me (while expressing support through comments), I have added a random question below each chapter for you. All you have to do is answer it (if you feel hesitant to talk about the book) and I will understand your metaphorical support.

- If you are the over-emotional kind, having a box of tissues near is recommended.

- Lastly, but most importantly. I hope you enjoy reading Headspace and find your own moral from the story.
