She felt comfort when he moved on the bed to soon cuddle and hug her in sleep . The feel of being needed engulfed her for she felt something more than satisfaction , his tight hold around her spoke so much and she couldn't ask for more . Those small thorns of stubble he had kept growing were now grazing over her skin under her chin as he had buried his face in her crook.  Annika smiled opening her eyes and started fiddling with his earlobe as he himself was completely lying on her territory . He was easily accessible . Shivaay frowned on feeling this and opened his eyes slowly.

S- annika !

He whined like a child ,and tried moving away from her but she didn't let him .

A- I didn't know you had such soft and fluffy ears all these day ,please shivaay I like doing this .

She expressed and continued giving smooth pinches to the flesh he had there . Shivaay put up an annoyed face , not a very good method to wake somebody .

S- please annika stop it .

Annika obeyed when he shouted like that , and he looked at her in wonder at once. She gave up so soon ? He was surprised.

A- jao , mein konsa knife leke kaatdiya tumhe? I was just playing.

She deliberately pretended with an innocent reaction on her face , he seemed to have fell for it  . While she complained and moved to get down the bed , he caught her hand immediately and made her hold his ear .

S- fine !

Annika chuckled and broke out in laughter when he surrendered .

A- such a cute specimen you are shivaay .

Her reactions changed within sometime when she randomly noticed his bare arm with which he was holding her . He popped his brows and questioned .

S- kya huwa , Haath mei kuch hai ?

He enquired and started scanning his own arm front and back . That's when she  suddenly shouted   out of nowhere, shivaay almost shivered and wriggled himself on hearing it .

A- god how did I forget this ! Shivaay one second haan , wait .

S- annika what ....ani

She didn't delay and just ran to pick her bag which lied in the corner.

S- hungry? Don't tell me you're going to open that mini stall of your's .

She smirked shaking her head , shivaay got up and jumped down the bed when he saw her going down on her knees suddenly.

S- what is this now annika ?

He went near and tried to bring her up , but she denied .

S- annika sto

He didn't complete his words after finding her holding a gift box for him.

A- I know it's too late , plan was something else but ...it's ok . Belated Happy Anniversary shivaay !

Shivaay wet his lips and smiled cheerfully when annika exclaimed the wish with much of emotions in her eyes. She never fails to make him feel special everytime and  whenever it happens , he just gets lost in her . Like even now , the way her eyes shone when she had him in sight spoke so much to him.  She extended the box more to his reach and that's when he came out of his trance and helped her up , before collecting the gift . Annika looked all excited , but instead of opening the gift ,he just stood and stared at her . His hand was cupping her cheek and his thumb was in deep process of releasing that thin hair strand of hers which was stuck between her lips .

A- teek hai teek hai , open it now !

She helped herself and released the hair to put an end to his distraction . He nodded slowly and opened the gift .

The kit had a round rigid bracelet inside , platinum it seemed .

S- bangle, seriously?

A- bracelet hai shivaay !  You know I like it when men wear such stuffs , thoda rugged look hoga na .

S- you fantasize all this ?

A- hmm , and one more thing , it's customized . If you look in deeply,  I mean  you should use microscope to be very specific , letters S and A will  be embossed everywhere.

S- wow , cool !

She noticed him to be looking at the thing skeptically .

A- maybe I should've gone for a ring instead .

Shivaay saw the way her reactions fell in disappointment , he immediately grabbed her hand and made her hold the bracelet .

S- help me.

A- matlab you'll wear it ?

He nodded quickly when she squealed in happiness . Pulling back his sleeves, she fixed it around  his  forearm and pushed it further till it  remained in  firm . She was watching it with her mouth open awide.

A- I like it so much , ahh how can I be so good in selection ! Your hand looks so rough and manly .

S- too much insult , I can still look manly without any stuffs like these . You and your fantasies .

A- I know , prince doesn't have to depend on anything to look pleasing but ye bhi acha haina , why, you don't like it ?

He rolled his tongue within his inner cheeks and smiled on hearing the label she used , damn , he missed her  so much .

S- no way , my wife has bought this especially for me ,why won't like it ?. I love it ! but I'm using this for the first time tho thoda ajeeb lagraha hai .

A- teek hai phir ,where's my gift then ?

She demanded showing her empty hands , the soft smile which resided on his lips all this time vanished back slowly . Annika noticed this clearly,  and before he could say anything she led.

A- I know , the dustbin in our room had ripped flight tickets .

Shivaay blinked slowly and looked away when she said this. 

S- yes , we had a flight to catch that night . Sydney , for a week .

A- sounds amazing,  I wish we didn't fight that day !!

S- mein bi.

He looked dull, she sighed huge and came close to hold his hands within hers.

A- you must've been so angry on me to have did that and even ghar chodke yahaan agaye thei tum. You know when I came back and saw our  empty room , I got so scared. I thought you started hating me  ,and you left me .

S- I was not used to that .

She was interrupted by him when he spoke these without looking at her.  Her eyes grew eager , he continued after a few seconds .

S- annika I don't know if you remember this, once you defended me infront of your dad when he thought I couldn't take care of you well. It was when you were hospitalized after your accident. You've always armoured me annika , I feel protected and so loved when with you . But suddenly hamare beech, pata nahi kaise... our fight vo sab it was unbearable for me . I was rather more sad and frustrated than angry , kyun ...why did my annika ...meri annika ne aise kyun kiya ? And what did you say , leaving you? I don't think I'm capable of doing something like that  ever in my life annika. I just wanted to give you some time .

Annika quickly wiped her tears and sniffed twice when he  finished speaking  those words of heart .

A- aww !! teek hai , I can't promise you no more fights but whatever happens I won't hesitate to run  back to you like I did now . I promise .

She muttered the last few words and kissed the bracelet in his arm , shivaay felt emotional and he didn't wait rather just grabbed and crushed her in his embrace. First she was thrilled when be behaved so desperate all of sudden, but then she too clung onto him and pressed herself on his hard front .

S- Happy Anniversary ani !

He whispered this and planted a light kiss on her hair ,annika grinned happily on finally ending up with her shivaay  after everything.

Morning

P- shivaay wait !

S - mom I'm already late please .

He collected all his stuffs in hurry but pinky didn't listen to anything and just forced him to sit on the couch. 

P - no way I'm letting you without finishing your breakfast , all because of this girl annika . Aur  nahi tho I'd have brought the food on time , annika ...come fast .

Shivaay didn't get it first , then he was totally bewildered when he found annika arriving there with a plate . Well this wasn't so weird but the way she looked , wet , covered with sweat like a porter who had  just  come back after lifting tons for every passenger of the train ,that was completely weird.  He scanned her from top to bottom a few more times while she casually set the plate for him before jumping on the couch to settle beside him.

S - annika did you jog all the way to OM and come back or what?

She just rolled her eyes and sat quietly, leaning her head on his arm . And when he started eating , her reactions changed , she become curious .

A- how is it shivaay?

S- matlab,  like always . Mom's cooking is the best.

A- I cooked today .

He choked immediately when she announced this,  pinky started rubbing his back .

S- really? It tastes so smiliar though , I didn't know you had such a talent annika .

P- as if ,  I thought ki she knows something and can manage when she volunteered to cook . But you know what she was doing in the kitchen  , dhal gin rahithi.

A- haan tho measure karni chahiye na shivaay ?

Pinky sighed huge and shook her head in horror while annika complained to shivaay who looked equally fed up .

S- people don't count to measure anything in the kitchen  annika , it's just our own guess . Add some 50 gram , 10 gram  just some amount is enough. 

A- shivaay haath mei digital weighing machine leke tho paidha nahi hui thi na mein .

Shivaay nodded obediently and concentrated on his plate while pinky looked to have lost it completely.

P- deka , aisehi baath kar rahi hai ye tabse. 

He chuckled when his mom complained with that scary reaction on her face . Well , he was very much used to annika's exclusively weird examples but poor pinky was actually going mad .

S- god I can only imagine the drama which would've happened at the kitchen with you both . Vaise anika , you got so much problems tho how only did you cook this then ?

A- aunty helped me .

P- helped ? Shivaay,  I did 99 % of the job , chopping ,grating, mixing sab ! And Madam queen ne sirf inspection ki hai .

A- chopping, grating ki tho khaana bangaya?  aunty ...! I did everything,  mixed all the ingredients in the pan  , thabi tho food cook hoga .

P- shivaay ...shivaay ye na khaana sirf apni muh se paka sakthi hai kitchen mei 0 hai .

A- your mother is cute at times , but most of the time she's just as another daily soap vaali saas I'm telling you.

P- kuch kaha?

S- nothing mom ,please now let me eat will you two ?

Shivaay rolled his eyes in horror and sighed deeply , he was scared  to leave them alone at home already . After that both didn't utter a word , annika sat back and started wiping her face which was covered with sweat while pinky switched on the TV as it was time for her favorite show . He then picked the glass of juice and passed it to her , but she didn't seem to collect it from him. Then only  he turned towards her to  find her searching for something seriously.

S- what ?

A- cannot find my earings .

She replied looking here and there .

S- fell somewhere in the kitchen maybe.

Annika was going to say something but before that pinky's voice was heard.

P- you didn't have them when you came to the kitchen .

She spoke with her eyes fixed on the screen .

A- really...? Tho kahan hoga....haan shivaay chubrahithi tho tumne nikalana kal raath,  where did you keep it ?

Shivaay's hand stopped in the midway while it was in process of fetching the morsel, he froze for a minute and then slowly turned his head towards her with that blunt reaction on his face. Yesterday it was his mother who embarrassed him and now , his dear wife who seemed to have still not realized what she just did .

A- shivaay , I asked you something why are you staring like some owl now , where is

She bit her tongue and pulled it back into her mouth when it struck her . He glared and she put up a fake  silly grin for the both then slowly looked at pinky who was too much engaged on the TV content. After that none spoke , both convinced themselves saying pinky didn't hear .

Well , who knows , she can pretend well too .

After some time

P- ji annika came here yesterday. Vaise aaryan kaise hai? I miss him so much...how about your work , you said you had some business at  Delhi.  Vo katam hogaya ? Hmm , yeah ...ok I'll ask shivaay if we can come back I don't know what plans he's got . Ok  shakthiji ,bye .

She stopped scrolling on the mobile screen and looked up at pinky on hearing the name at last . Annika was in a big dilemma , she wanted to act idle and stay out of any trouble atleast for now because just now she had come across one big trouble of itself. Some peace is what she wanted, but somewhere her conscious kept alarming her from within to just spit out what she knew .

Pinky seemed to believe her husband blindly , injustice was happening just infront of her eyes and annika was finding it too difficult to shut her eyes from it . She hates being the first one to know everything , especially such secret kind of things. It's hard to keep numb about it because she knew it's going to break out big one day or the other. One side she chooses to ignore this and wait for it to come out by itself and on the other side,  she  feels guilty for hiding the truth .

And she couldn't tolerate pinky being fooled too , it only made her furious.

P- annika you love my hairstyle right ? I so knew it. I tried this braid today only, kaisi hai ?

Pinky caught her staring for this long and asked this with much of curiosity. Annika just  chuckled shaking her head , this woman is beyond cute she thought.

A- aunty , your marriage...arranged tha?

There was so much hesitation in her voice , but she completed it somehow .

P- why are you asking about my marriage suddenly?

A- boliye na .

P- yes annika , those days love marriage was very rare . I had seen shakthiji only once before our marriage .

A- only once ...? Weren't you scared , to just live with a complete stranger?

P- I was , but he was so sweet to me that at some point I forgot I was even scared.

Annika remained quiet for sometime and then spoke .

A- you , you love him aunty?

Pinky chuckled immediately.

P- ofcourse I do . I can't even imagine a life without him .

Annika gulped deep and looked away when pinky expressed her joy and feelings . She felt her mind ready to go on a blast as something inside her stopped her from saying anything while some other part shouted insisting  to reveal everything. A more of thoughts gathered together in her head , and she started thinking of how each one at home will react to the truth . Pinky saw annika getting restless suddenly . Placing her palm on her lap , she questioned in concern .

P- what happened ?

There was complete silence for sometime and then she spoke .

A- aunty uncle is not as good as you think , please don't trust him blindly .

She muttered these words so quickly for it took pinky a few seconds to capture what she meant.  Her face grew serious as soon as she got it .

P- why would you say that annika ?

Annika kept staring at her but couldn't just pour it out though .

A- aunty , I'm telling this for your good , don't be so naive .  That's all I could say now .

P- how's that annika ? You can't just talk about my husband like that and expect me to keep quiet about it . Are you going to tell me or not ?

She gulped in a few times while pinky kept watching her without blinking her eyes .

A- aunty , please be calm .

P- you're scaring me annika .

Annika kept thinking for long , but at one point she agreed to reveal it , because it's pinky's life and she has to know this . She can't just hide it from her just because she fears the consequences, it's more than that . Annika decided .

A- uncle , he has another... family apart from us . He has an affair with

Pinky stood up with a jolt before she could even complete.

P- how dare you annika ! How dare you say such things to me ?

She screamed over her voice ,with big eyes just ready to roast annika for what she said . Annika stood up slowly and neared to hold pinky who stepped back though.

A- aunty

P- don't talk rubbish annika , you even realize what you said ?

A- aunty please,  this is what I was telling. You're too naive. He's been lying to you and you

P- don't make me hate you annika , just stop it !

Annika shook a bit when she screamed like that .

P- if it was anyone else I'd have just ripped their face apart and dragged them out of my house . Mera bacha tumhe zindagi maanta hai , isliye chup rahi hoon mein .

Her eyes screamed violence  and annika clearly noticed it .

A- aunty you're not understanding,  what am I going to get by saying all this to you ? Trust me aunty , I saw him with a lady and he has a son too ...who looks exactly... aunty ...aunty !

Annika acted quick and caught pinky before she could hit the ground,  she patted her cheeks continuously but pinky didn't seem to gain conscious. Annika was thrilled .

Shivaay couldn't think of anything on the way ,he was so panicked. When annika called and told the news , his heart almost just stopped for  a second . He was hell worried for pinky . Stepping down from the car , he ran inside the hospital like mad man  bumping and dashing on anyone who came against him.

And finally when he saw annika standing near the last room on that floor  , he somehow dragged himself till her .  She was even more scared after watching his state .

S- annika what happened to her? I want to see her , you didn't even tell anything on the phone. How can....she was  fine in the morning but achaanak kaise? Where's she ? Annika I want to see her .

A- shivaay ,shivaay please control  yourself . She's ok , fine . BP drop hogayi uski , but now she's fine .

He didn't wait and just moved  forward to open the door of the ward but inside was not pinky rather some other patient. Annika immediately grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the opposite room .

At once he ran and sat holding her hand , his eyes glistened automatically when he saw his mother's pale face . Pinky couldn't see him like that , she blinked assuringly and shook her head asking him to not cry . Annika stood there in the corner , quietly. Her fears were coming true ,she started regretting her decision of telling the truth to pinky .

P- shivaay,  I'm alright.

S- but why mom ? You are taking the tablets correctly right,  tho kaise ?  Suddenly kaise ! Annika  ,what happened at home ?

As soon as he asked , annika looked at pinky slowly who in turn just scowled hard at her . He was annoyed by the silence and just shouted again .

S- I'm asking you something annika !

That's when his mobile started ringing ,he watched the two one by one alternatively before picking up the call .

S- hello ,yes it's shivaay speaking.  Yeah ...ok ....what ! That's impossible, I submitted the legal papers already ...but how ! Lawyer kyun?....look I know the protocols too but what you're telling is impossible...fine !

He hung up quickly and dropped the mobile on the bed , something seemed wrong.

P- beta kya huwa ?

Annika was watching him intimidatedly .

S- nothing mom , I,  I want to talk to the doctor.  Please rest , I'll come back .

He kissed her palm and stood to leave but she caught his hand and got up to sit .

P - seems very serious , problem kya hai ?

He helped her sit back properly and spoke holding her hands.

S- primary capital for this business was arranged with a property loan .

P- hmm , I know. That land which you used for security is your father's,  infact it's been in  our family for generations .

S- yeah , now someone has claimed it as their's and filed a legal sheet against us at the court . Since the land is involved for security reasons in my loan file  ,bank  received the  court notice first. And now they want me to pay back and suffice the whole capital amount , because properties with legal problems can't hold as security.

Both pinky and annika were equally shocked when he said this.

P - that's impossible.

S-  I know mom , and I'll take care . Please don't worry, aap rest kijiye mein

He was soon interrupted by annika .

A- I think I might know who would've filed the case against us at the court.

Pinky gritted her teeth and glared at her .

P- there she goes with her nonsense once again .

Shivaay understood nothing. He watched the two in confusion .

IB was always about shivika and some family drama , so thought of bringing that element in here too . I think at this point the regular readers would've known that I  don't write much of this only romance  kind of  stories , I like to use characters and build  stories, ofcourse our shivika will have a major part in it .
