He kept his teeth gritted throughout , his eyes sprouted annoyance , annika noticed this and shook her head in disbelief.

A- oh come on shivaay, chod na . She was just being random about it .

S- but why would she even mention that , infront of me especially.

Came his immediately reply in that very stern voice . She smiled .

A- it is true , she once did talk to papa asking my hand for her son . But it was

S- yup , don't wanna hear about it . Hereafter I'm just gonna wait in car , you can go invite your family and friends yourself .

He cut her in the middle and made it clear , she frowned .

A- why is that?

S- I don't know how many more aunties like her are left and how many sons they do have , so best I stay away .

He answered looking at nothing but the straight road ahead , she pinched his cheek immediately and sang .

A- awww ! So much possessive tho why didn't you accept me the first time when I proposed you haan ? Where was this man then ?

Even shivaay couldn't help but grin this time, he cornered his eyes at her once before looking straight again .

S- sleeping , I guess .

A - atleast I didn't get going to marry someone else , unlike you .

Annika commented to tease him, but there was a long silence after when she said that . She kept looking at him keenly .

S- somehow I made it to you finally though , only that matters .

Making one look at her for a second , he quickly turned .Only then she bent down to notice his palm on her lap, she smiled and held his hand , interlocking her fingers with his.

Both smiled looking at each other , and that's when shivaay got a call . She insisted him not to attend while driving but he made a pleasing look and did otherwise .

S- what do you mean compromised !

She was startled on hearing his sudden roar , he seemed raged .

S- the meeting is next week , How can it leak ? Grabbing this project is one crucial thing we have to do , and now this ? It's too critical to make complete structure from scratch once again , how did this happen !

Annika stared at the digital speed monitor worriedly , she quickly leapt and pulled the seat belt around him before settling it for herself . The numbers kept going up and up.

S- stop giving excuses , I'm coming , and when I find who did it I'm going to black list them along with you...no you failed in your job it was your respo...no I will do it.

Suddnely the car juggled forth and the engine stopped at one point. He hung up immediately and got down the car , shutting the door too loud . She stepped down and went near shivaay who just opened the bonnet to view inside of it.

It has been more than ten minutes now and he did nothing rather stare at the things inside . She was clear that he was nowhere here now , his mind was wandering somewhere else.

Annika noticed his posture and slowly took her hand towards the engine . She almost got close when he hit her hand off soon .

S- it's heated up , like fire . You don't know that !

A- exactly you pressure it up with such acceleration and sudden breaks , isn't it obvious ,fire ?

S- what ?

He questioned cluleslessly and she frowned.

A- you don't remember?

S- remember what ?

She stared at him for a few seconds and blinked out suddenly shaking her head .

A- it's ok I'll book a cab , wait.

S- annika actually I got to leave , there's a problem in our company. Someone leaked the plans to the AH industries, if I loose this ...no , I gotta figure it out . I should

He kept shaking his head, the tense in his eyes spoke everything. She saw how restless he behaved without standing still even . She immediately grabbed their things from inside the car and locked it . The cab was there soon .

A- well come with me first , let's go home and talk .

Shivaay didn't seem to even react, he was thinking something else. She sighed grabbing his hand and pushed him inside the car before getting in.

He was pissed off when she put his case back inside the cupboard after when he just collected it from there .

S- annika I have to go .

He insisted .

A- go to sleep .

S- kya !

A- you can look after whatever it is tomorrow, now go to sleep .

S- annika what are you saying ?

A- see it's 10 PM.

S- annika

A- please .

He glared at her quietly and sighed to breathe his hot mind out . Kicking the floor once he straightly went and hit the bed . Shivaay peeled the duvet and threw it on the floor when she tried covering it over him .

Annika let out deep breaths continuously as this irritated her much , she straightaway walked to pick the AC remote and lowered down the temperature 3 numbers down .

Tit for tat , she executed .

It was 6 in the morning when he woke up . Stretching his arms awide , he eased himslef . Within soon he remembered everything and quickly tried to get a view of the clock which was difficult due to the dark room. He then lit the lamp aside and jumped down the bed on seeing the time.

S- oh god 6 ! Anik whoa!!

He screamed aloud as he watched her seated up with the laptop which's light made her face look creepy . Shivaay looked thrilled . She edited the brightness of the screen and turned towards him.

A- now ok ?

S- I thought you were sleeping .

A- I wanted to , but ...anyways see

She threw her arm around his neck to pull him just close so that he could see the screen too . Shivaay who was still startled with all this couldn't actually react only .

S- what's this ?

A- this new employee in our office might be the black sheep , his former id matches with the pattern of R&R constructions which currently is in tie up with AH industries. I can be wrong but I think I'm right .

He watched her with his mouth open wide while she narrated.

S- what were doing all night annika ?

A- background checks through the company's database .

His eyes went big .

S- for all 148 people? Each and every one of them ?

A- hmm .

S- how ?

He questioned with a mountain of astonishment in his voice and eyes .

A- what do you mean how ? Oh password ? Yes it was difficult to crack but around 12 pm I guess some ghost popped this important detail in my mind. Prince is a mumma's boy , pinky@
I knew her birthday date but got confused of the year . Did some calculations and cracked it though .

She explained excitedly while he still had the same bewildered face on .

A- call the office and ask them to check , if yes don't black list him though . He's got a sibling , take his job that's enough .

S - I I'll go , you should rest .

She caught his hand immediately .

A- you're going nowhere .

Her eyes screamed domination , he was scared for a second to be certain .

S- meaning ?

A- I helped you out so it's your turn now .

S- what do you want me to do ?

That smirk which emerged on her face the very next moment did hint him about something but he didn't know what it was . He gulped deep .

A- I can't understand, sorry.

Shivaay crushed his eyes and tore the sheet .

S- annika this is too much , how can I write neat and perfect sitting inside a moving car !

A- you've got three sides to fill, my advice ,start writing. I've got to give this lecture today .

Shivaay sighed in defeat and started writing the points which were highlighted on the book . He shrinked himslef to make a still posture and tried to be atmost steady though his wife made a roller coaster out of the wheels .

This was the third time already .

A- hmm , not bad .

He grinned on hearing that, finally the drill is over .

S- ok annika all the best bye .

She peeped in and drew the key back from the hole , shivaay was horrified.

A- where do you think you're going ?

S- got lots of work annika , what do you want now !

He whined .

A- decide shivaay , me or work ?

He made pitiful faces to please her , she didn't give a damn though . Shivaay kicked the insides of the car annoyingly before getting down .

What's with this girl today ! He went insane .

' your class will start in 5 minutes '

A- yeah thanks .

The staff left saying this , shivaay patted her shoulder for she looked back at his seemingly innocent face .

S- what is it you want annika ? I've got no time !

Without saying a thing she picked a big bottle from her bag which was filled with small beads of the same colour ,yellow . His eyes widened as he saw it coming.

A- help me count these.

S- no way ! Why are you doing this ?

He shouted before she could even complete and annika scowled hard at him .

A- that class room is empty, you can sit there and

S- stop it annika , I can't.

He declared .

A- you don't have the key , remember?

S- please annika .

A- I'm sorry .

Muttering this ,she pulled his hand and passed the bottle to him before leaving .

S- annika , annika please annika .

She gave no ears to his calls and left to the classroom directly .

She came back after an hour . With utmost concentration , yes he was counting . She saw it from distance and smiled .

On knowing she was inside , he did'nt spare a look at her .

A- angry?

S- obviously.

A-ok then lets go.

Shivaay almost went horror stricken when she dropped the beads which he had already counted back into the jar.

S- what was that !

A - started liking this ? no worries you can continue it at the court , come.

He wriggled out from her hold .

S- that is not continuing , after what you just did it's start over !!

A - stop complaining like a kid shivaay , come.

She dragged him out .

'Thank you so much'

A - small fights should be kept small that's why they're called that. Don't try to blame each other everytime rather learn to forgive ,atleast take turns and do that if your ego hurts , ok jency?

'Sure'

A- I'll submit the papers to your lawyer , you can leave .

'ok'

Shivaay who was sitting by the side table kept watching her weirdly , she frowned at his reaction.

A - what?

S- you speak so much to people !

A- job shivaay

S - I'm sure you could do it easily then why did you make me write so much this morning , you could have managed without that note . You broke my hand and now making me count these damn stupid beads .

She laughed out when he spoke annoyingly .

A - are you swearing at mere beads ?

S -ok I'm done ,seven thousand three hundred and eight.

A-wrong.

Shivaay's eyes popped out of their sockets when she announced immediately .

S- you could have said that after some time right , what's the hurry now!

A- why?

S-everything went in vain , I'm hurting inside annika .

She smiled an ran to hug him.

A- don't worry , you can start over again . Hospital chalthey hain .

This time he wasn't shocked , surprised anything. He did expect this from her . A faint defeated chuckle escaped his lips .

Shivaay noticed her from afar while she was playing badminton with those patients. Each one were different , and she handled them all together. This was definitely one critical job his wife has been doing . He kept adoring her and thus forgot the count where he stopped . He crushed his eyes and bit his tongue. Start over again. Her voice rang in his ears.

' you cheated !'

A- no I didn't, sheeba look here sheeba

' you did '

She yelled pushing annika to the ground. Shivaay ran out there as soon as he noticed this . He helped her up and started shouting at sheeba .

S - how dare you!

' annika who is this ? Why is he shouting at me ?'

A- sheeba go back to your room .

' no! He can't talk to me like that '

S- annika what's all this ?

A- sheeba

' he can't shout at me !!'

Sheeba suddenly got aggressive and kept repeating the same , shivaay pulled annika with him when he noticed sheeba getting close to her .

A- sheeba , sheeba you asked me to bring you a kite last time right? I placed one on your bed , did you find it ?

Sheeba stopped what she was doing and smiled suddenly .

' really , kite ?'

A- yeah pink one.

'Wohoo ! Jasmine , I got a kite!! '

Stretching her arms in air she ran towards the dorm happily . Shivaay felt strange though .

A- child abuse , she doesn't like when people raise their voice against her .

He kind of understood now and felt guilty for doing that.

A- anyways, lets get back to our job Prince . What's the status?

S - won't you forget it annika ? Enough yaar please , revenge le rahi ho kya ? kisliye!!

The nurse who was standing there beside annika laughed on seeing him whine like that .

A- aap jayiye di ,I'll join you.

'ok'

S- I can't anymore, whatever it is I can't .

He started protesting standing in the center of the ground .

S- help bi karthi ho phir ...see,I hardly feel my hands now.

Annika felt sorry for him at one point though .

A- ok , promise me you won't attend calls while driving .

S - seriously! For this you...?

Annika felt the carelessness his reaction provided .

A- come .

She dragged him along .

S- annika kahan? Annika ! I can do nothing no more. Chod annika .

She stopped infront of the emergency block . Just then an ambulance entered through the gate , shivaay looked at her confusedly .

A- shivaay you have zero patience, short temper , and ...well your list is dangerous.

S- mein tumhara patient nahi hoon annika .

A- you remember Rudra's accident ?

His reactions changed at once he heard this .

A- there was a problem in the company , I think I did some help with that . But your mind , you hardly know you're doing it , it's just your sudden reflexes
...they're are dangerous . I realized it yesterday.Got to help you with that too because , I need no problems near you . This may look silly but...I see things everyday, so

Her eyes crooked as she saw the patient on the gurney being dragged inside with his blood dripping down on the ground continuously. Shivaay didn't take his eyes off her throughout .

The sight scared her much , she gulped hard and looked everywhere to divert herself when he suddenly pulled her to face his eyes .

S- I promise .

She grinned awide when he made the statement. And there was an automatic smile on his face . He didn't know what else to say. How can someone love him so much, he was stuck up there , to this point .

This girl has her particular ways of surprising him . He admired her for that , for loving him endlessly .

S- you know jab bi hero ban jathey ho mere liye , you sweep me off my feet everytime .

She immediately blushed and turned to look everywhere but him.

A- don't flatter me ok, it's enough for today . But daily task is mandatory .

S- I hate this dictation but I love you , so it's ok .

He quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned forward while she looked around and indicated him to stop .

A- shivaay

S- I'm sorry ani , I want to express my heart now .

Annika was feared as he looked really desperate, she grabbed his collars within her fists and crushed her eyes as he came close and close .

Ar - hey Doctor .

She pushed him away on hearing someone's voice . Shivaay rolled his eyes , he was totally pissed off .

A- hi arjun .

Ar- hey man .

S- hi , how are you by the way ,all ok now ?

Shivaay put up a fake smile .

Ar- yup . Annika takes care of me so well .

A- you're on cheerful man , you help me in helping you a lot actually. Please wait in my room , I'll be there in a minute .

Ar- sure

S- I still find him creepy , don't know why .

He spoke watching arjun leave from there while annika leaned on his chest , making herself comfortable .

A- concentrate on me man , your wife is really tired .

S- I can carry you back home , just come with me .

He suggested holding her in his arms and she chuckled immediately.

A- one hour haan .

S- no .

A- just one hour , I'll be back .

Shivaay helplessly shrugged his shoulders with a poor look on his face .

S- you always win .

A- aww koi itna cute kaise ho saktha hai , muaaah !

Making a kiss on her own hand she pressed it over his lips and ran from there .

S- annika one second ,

A- haan ?

She turned back standing afar .

S- the answer ?

A- seven thousand three hundred and eight .

She screamed the number from there and shivaay's face changed like a zombie within no time . He was right the very first time ...!

S- annika!!!

He ran behind to chase her , and suddenly stomped over something . It was a wallet . He looked around but found none ,he opened it .

He was soon shocked as he noticed something in it.

Annika's picture was present inside , an old one taken during her school days. A cut piece from a group picture .
